< 3 Johan 1 >

1 Kei Angvai naw, Ka mhläkphyanak kcang Kajasa veia.
The elder to the well-beloved Gaius, whom I love in truth.
Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
3 Ngthukcang üng aläa nami xüngseia mäih, ngthukcang üng hlimtui lü na sitiha mawng mi khritjanpüi he naw na mtheh law u se ka ngjak üng aktäa ka jekyaiki.
For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth.
I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.
Beloved, thou doest faithfully whatever thou doest to the brethren, and to strangers;
Who have borne testimony of thy charity before the church: whom if thou shalt bring forward on their journey after a godly sort, thou wilt do well:
7 Isenitiüng, amimi cun naw am jumeikie veia i pi käh doei lü, Khritawa khuta phäh cit hükie ni.
Because for his name's sake they went forth, taking nothing from the Gentiles.
8 Acunakyase, ami khutbi cun mi jah bipüikiea a kyak vaia, mimi khritjane naw acuna khyange cun mi jah kpüikpak kawm u.
We therefore ought to receive such, that we may be fellow-helpers to the truth.
I wrote to the church: but Diotrephes, who loveth to have the pre-eminence among them, receiveth us not.
10 Acunakyase, ka lawa kcün üng, a pawh naküt: a hleihlake ja am dawkyakia a jah pyennake cun sangcima maa ka phyeh law be khai. Acun däk am ni, khritjane ami law üng am jah dodang. Jah dodang hlükie pi jah mah ham lü sangcim üngkhyüh jah ksät vaia ngtängki.
Wherefore, if I come, I will remember his deeds which he doeth, prating against us with malicious words: and not content with that, neither doth he himself receive the brethren, and forbiddeth them that would, and casteth [them] out of the church.
11 Ka mhlänak ka püi he aw, aksea thawnki käh mcukei ua, akdawa thawnki mcukei ua.
Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God.
12 Khyang lum naw Dematarih dawki ami ti. Kami pyen cangki ti nami ksingnak vaia kami saksisihki ni.
Demetrius hath good report by all [men], and by the truth itself: and we [also] bear testimony; and ye know that our testimony is true.
I had many things to write, but I will not with ink and pen write to thee:
14 Sängsäng se ning jah hmuh law vaia ka ngaiki. Acun üng mi püi hmu lü mi ngthuhei be kawm u. Acunüng, akhyang puma mi ngthuei law khaie. Dimdeihnak nami khana be se. Ka püi avan naw pi yai u se ami ti. Mi püi he avan ka jah hnuksetki.
But I trust I shall shortly see thee, and we shall speak face to face. Peace [be] to thee. [Our] friends salute thee. Greet the friends by name.
