< 2 Timoti 2 >
1 Ka ca, nanga phäha Khritaw Jesuh am mi yümatnaka kyaki bäkhäknak üng ngkhängpanga.
You must, then, my child, find strength in the help which comes from the union with Christ Jesus;
2 Saksi khawhah maa ka pyena mtheimthangnak, na ngjaka mtheimthangnak he cän la lü khyang akce pi jah mthei be thei khaia khyange am jah ap siha.
and what you learnt from me, in the presence of many listeners, entrust to reliable people, who will be able in their turn to teach others.
3 Khritaw Jesuha sitihkia yekapa kba khuikhanak cän khameia.
Share hardships with me, as a true soldier of Christ Jesus.
4 Yekap cun naw ani mtheh lü ngthupeki angvai a jesak vaia akce bilawhnak üng kcaw lü i pi am bi khawi.
A soldier on active service, to please his superior officer, always avoids entangling himself in the affairs of ordinary life.
5 Ngcamei lü dawngkia khyang naw pi mcuhmthenake am a jah läk üngta ngkhyengnak cun am yah khai ni.
No athlete is ever awarded the wreath of victory unless they have kept the rules.
6 Ngnüngseng lü lai biki naw akcüka a ah cun taeiki ni.
The laborer who does the work should be the first to receive a share of the fruits of the earth.
7 I ka pyen ti hin ngaia, ahin avan na ksingnak vaia Bawipa naw khyaih khawhki ni.
Reflect on what I say; the Lord will always help you to understand.
8 Thangkdaw sang lü ka jah mtheia kba Davita mjüa kyaki thihnak üngkhyüh tho beki Jesuh Khritaw cän süma.
Keep before your mind Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, a descendant of David, as told in the good news entrusted to me;
9 Isetiakyaküng, Thankdaw ka sanga phäha mpyukeia mäiha khunnak khamei lü ka khuikhaki ni. Lüpi Pamhnama ngthu cun khunnak am khamei thei,
in the service of which I am suffering hardships, even to being put in fetters as a criminal. But the message of God is not fettered;
10 acunakyase, angläta hlüngtainak law lü Khritaw Jesuh üngkhyüh lawkia küikyannak ami yah vaia phäha, anaküt hin Pamhnama xü khyangea phäha ka khamei ni. (aiōnios )
and that is why I submit to anything for the sake of God’s people: so that they also may obtain the salvation which comes from union with Christ Jesus, and imperishable glory. (aiōnios )
11 Ahin cun akcanga pyen ni: “Ani am mi thih üngta, ani üng mi xüng khai.
How true this saying is – ‘If we have shared his death, we will also share his life.
12 Msu lü mi khamei üngta, ani am mi up hnga khai. Ani mi ma üngta, ani naw pi jah ma hnga khai.
If we continue to endure, we will also share his throne. If we should ever disown him, he, too, will disown us.
13 Am mi sitih üngpi, ani cun sitih nglätki, isetiakyaküng amät naw amät am hmakatsak thei.”
If we lose our trust, he is still to be trusted, for he cannot be false to himself!’
14 Ahina mcuhmthehnak hin na khyange am jah sümsak lü ngcuhngkaihnak vaia khyübe käh ami pawh vaia, Pamhnama maa jah mcäi kawm pi. Ahine naw am jah dawsak lü cungaikie jah pyaksaki ni.
Remind people of all this; tell them solemnly, as in the sight of God, to avoid controversy, a useless thing and the ruin of those who listen to it.
15 Pamhnama ngthungtaka mawng cangkia jah mthei lü, khut biki naw a khut käh ngkeei lü, a pawha kba Pamhnama hmaia ümpanak na yah vaia na khyaih khawha pawha.
Do your utmost to show yourself true to God, a worker with no reason to be ashamed, accurate in delivering the message of the truth.
16 Pamhnam üngkhyüh jah thuksaki, khawmdek üng sängei lü am danga ngthähnake üngka naw akthuka vea.
Avoid profane prattle. Those who indulge in it only get deeper into irreligious ways,
17 Acunea mtheimthangnak hin naw mi pumsa jah eiawki mnehmnanga mäi ni a law ve. Himenias ja Philetuh xawi naw ahi bang jah mtheiki xawi ni.
and their teaching will spread like a cancer. Hymenaeus and Philetus are instances of this.
18 Ani xawi naw ngthungtaka suilam hawih ni lü mi thawhnak be cun ve pängki ti lü jumeikie avanga jumeinak cun jah uplatsaki xawi ni.
They have gone completely astray as regards the truth; they say that a resurrection has already taken place, and so upset some people’s faith.
19 Acunsepi, Pamhnam naw a taka ngkhängkia tüneinak lung cun am ngsünngkyet; hina ngthue cun acuna khana, “Bawipa naw a kae cun jah ksingki” cunkäna “Bawipa ka kanaki tikia khyang cun am dawki bilawhnak üngkhyüh nglat yah khai,” tia ng’yuki.
Yet God’s firm foundation still stands unmoved, and it bears this inscription – ‘THE LORD KNOWS THOSE WHO ARE HIS’; and this – ‘LET ALL THOSE WHO USE THE NAME OF THE LORD TURN AWAY FROM WICKEDNESS.’
20 Imnua k'uma kbee ja k’ame amjü küm veki: avang cun ngui ja xüi am ami jah pyan, akcee cun thing ja mdek am ami jah pyan, avang cun pawipyang üng jah sumei lü avang cun ami jah sumei sawxat ni.
Now in a large house there are not only things of gold and silver, but also others of wood and earthenware, some for better and some for common use.
21 Akse üngkhyüh amimät ngcimsaki cun adawnaka hnün üng sumei khaie, isetiakyaküng, ami mahpa naw akdaw jah pawhnak vaia jah sumei lü ami ngapei vaia ngsäm yah khaie ni.
If, then, a person has escaped from the pollution of such errors as I have mentioned, they will be like a thing kept for better use, set apart, serviceable to its owner, ready for any good purpose.
22 Cawngpyanga hlükaweinak cän hawih lü ngsungpyunnak, jumeinak, mhläkphyanak ja dim’yenak, mlungkyawng ngcimki he am atänga Bawipaa kpüinak yah vaia ngkhüngkonake cän jah mtuneia.
Flee from the passions of youth, but pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, in the company of those who, with a pure heart, invoke the Lord.
23 Ngtunngvawknak üng jah kphakia amdang ngcuhngkaihnak ja am ngtähngkehkia ngkaw üngkhyüh akthuka vea.
Shun foolish and ignorant discussions, for you know that they only breed quarrels;
24 Bawipaa mpyaa na kyaka mäiha nang naw ngtunngvawknak am pawh yahki. Nang cun khyang daw ja a mlungmsaüki sajaa kba khyang naküta vei na daw yah khai.
and a servant of the Lord should never quarrel. They ought, on the contrary, to be courteous to everyone, skillful teachers, and forbearing.
25 Nang cun ning ngcam püiki na mtheh üng na hniphnawi yah khai, ahin cun Pamhnama hlüeia kya lü ami cun ngjut be lü ngthungtak cun ksing law khai ni.
They should instruct their opponents in a gentle spirit; for, possibly, God may give those opponents a repentance that will lead to a fuller knowledge of truth,
26 Khawyai naw ani kcangnak khaia a jah pinmane cun lätlang law u lü akdawkyaa ksing law khaie ni.
and they may yet come to a sober mind, and escape from the devil’s net, when captured by the Lord’s servant to do the will of God.
