< 2 Pita 1 >
1 Jesuh Khritawa mpya ja ngsäa kyaki Sihmon Pita üngka naw, Mi Pamhnama ngsungpyunnak ja Küikyan Bawi Jesuh Khritawa phäh üng kami jumeinaka kba, jumeinak akü säih yahkiea veia;
To those to whom, through the justice of our God and Saviour Jesus Christ, there has been granted faith equally privileged with our own, from Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ.
2 Pamhnam ja mi Bawipa Jesuh nami ksingnak am bäkhäknak ja dimdeihnak cun nami khana bebang se.
May blessing and peace be yours in ever increasing measure, as you advance in the knowledge of God and of Jesus, our Lord.
3 Amäta dawkyanak ja hlüngtainak üng ngpüi hnga khaia jah khüki Khritaw ksingnak üngkhyüh Pamhnam am akcanga hlimtui xünsei vaia, Pamhnama hlüngtaikia johit naw mi hlükaw naküt cun jah pe päng ve.
For his divine power has given us everything that is needful for a life of piety, as we advance in the knowledge of him who called us by a glorious manifestation of his goodness.
4 Ahikba ni a bekhütnaka, aktäa dämduh lü aphu küiki suhe pi jah pe päng ve. Acuna suhea phäh nangmi cun hina khawmdek khana khyükleih cimpye be theiki mtisa hlükaw ksekhyu üngka naw lätlang lü Pamhnama ningsaw üng nami ngpüi hnga vaia phäh ni.
For it was through this that he gave us what we prize as the greatest of his promises, that through them you might participate in the divine nature, now that you have fled from the corruption in the world, resulting from human passions.
5 Acuna phäh üng, nami jumnak cen nami dawkyanak am; nami dawkyanak cen nami ksingnak am;
Yes, and for this reason do your best to supplement your faith by goodness, goodness by knowledge,
6 nami ksingnak cen nami mlung nängnak am; mlung nängnak cen duneinak am; duneinak cen Pamhnam üng hlimtuinak am;
knowledge by self-control, self-control by endurance, endurance by piety,
7 Pamhnam üng hlimtuinak cen Khritjana mhlämcehnak am; püi mhlämcehnak cen mhläkphyanak am jah msap lü ktha na ua.
piety by mutual affection, and mutual affection by love.
8 Ahin he ni nami jah hlü. Ahin he am nami kümbe üng, mi Bawipa Jesuh Khritaw ksingnak da ning jah thühletsak lü amdanga käh kya khaia ning jah pitpyang khai.
For, when these virtues are yours, in increasing measure, they prevent your being indifferent to, or destitute of, a fuller knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9 Ahin he am jah takia khyang naküt ta khawcäpa käh hmu lü, ahlana a mkhyenake jah mthih pet päng cen mhnih bekia khyanga kyaki.
Surely the person who has not these virtues is shortsighted even to blindness, and has chosen to forget that they have been purified from their sins of the past!
10 Acunakyase, ka benae aw, Pamhnama a ning jah khü ja a ning jah xünak üng nami ngkhängcek vaia, ahina kthaka ktha na ua. Acukba nami kthanak üng, itia pi nami jumeinak am hawih thei uki.
Therefore, friends, do your best to put God’s call and selection of you beyond all doubt; for, if you do this, you will never fall.
11 Ahikba ani üng ni, mi Bawipa ja mi Küikyan Bawi Jesuh Khritawa angsäi Pea dokhamnak kümcei cun nami yah kawm. (aiōnios )
For in this way you will be given a triumphant admission into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. (aiōnios )
12 Ahin he hin nami jah ksing päng, nami yaha ngthutak üng ngkhängcek kyaw uki lüpi, aläse ka ning jah sümsak khai.
I will, therefore, always be ready to remind you of all this, even though you know it and are firmly established in the truth that you now hold.
13 Ka xünna küt üng, acunea mawngma ka ning jah sümsak lä hin cangkia pi ka ngaieiki.
But I think it my duty, as long as I live in this “tent,” to rouse you by awakening memories of the past;
14 Mi Bawipa Jesuh Khritaw naw angsingtea a na mtheh pänga kyase, sängsäng se thi theikia hina pumsa hin ka hawih law khai tia pi ka ksingki.
for I know that the time for this “tent” of mine to be put away is soon coming, as our Lord Jesus Christ himself assured me.
15 Ka thih käna pi, ka ning jah mthehe hin aläa nami jah süm vaia, ka khyaih khawha tuilam ka ning jah pyang pet khai.
So I will do my best to enable you, at any time after my departure, to call these truths to mind.
16 Mi Bawipa Jesuh Khritaw hlüngtainak am a law be vaia mawng, nangmi üng ka ning jah mtheh hin khyanga mhnüna khuikame am ni. Kami mik am a hlüngtainak hmu lü kami pyenkie ni.
For we were not following cleverly devised stories when we told you of the coming in power of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we had been eye-witnesses of his majesty.
17 Akhlüngtai säih Dämduh säih üngkhyüh, “Ani ta keia mhläkphyanaka ka Ca ni” tia kthai am Pa Pamhnam naw leisawng mhlünmtaiki. Acuna kcün üng keimi pi acuia kami veki.
For he received honour and glory from God the Father, when from the glory of the Divine Majesty there were borne to his ears words such as these – “This is my dearly loved son, who brings me great joy.”
18 Jesuh am atänga ngcingcaihkia mcunga kami ceh üng, khankhaw üngkhyüh lawkia acuna kthai cun kami ngjakie.
These were the words that we heard, borne to our ears from heaven, when we were with him on that sacred mountain.
19 Acunakyase, sahma he naw ami sanga ngthua khana mkhüh üpnak kami tak law däm dämkie. Acuna ngthu cen nghngatun u bä. Isenitiüng, Khaw am a thaihnak ham üng nghmüp kcäikia meiim ja, nami mlung k’uma vaiki thaihke am tängki ni.
And still stronger is the assurance that we have in the teaching of the prophets; to which you will do well to pay attention (as if it were a lamp shining in a gloomy place), until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.
20 Acunsepi, Cangcim üng vekia malam pyennake cun keimi üngka u naw pi am pyen thei u ngü ti cun ksing ua.
But first be assured of this: There is no prophetic teaching found in scripture that can be interpreted by a person’s unaided reason;
21 Sahmae naw ami pyena ngthu naküt cun nghngicim ngaih üngkhyüh tünei lawki am ni. Ngmüimkhya Ngcima tui mhnuh lam mthehnak naw ni Pamhnam üngkhyüh lawkia ngthu cun ami pyen.
for no prophetic teaching ever came in the old days at the mere wish of people, but people, moved by the Holy Spirit, spoke direct from God.
