THE elder unto the elect lady and her children, whom I love in the truth; and not I only, but also all they that have known the truth;
For the truth’s sake, which dwelleth in us, and shall be with us for ever. (aiōn g165)
3 Pa Pamhnam ja a Capa Jesuh Khritaw naw bäkhäknak, mpyenmseinak ja dimdeihnak ning jah pe se. Acun he cun ngthukcang ja mhläkphyanak am mi kaa kya se.
Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.
4 Paa ngthupeta mäiha nami canae avang ngthukcang am ami xüngsei ka hmuh üng jekyainak am ka beki.
I rejoiced greatly that I found of thy children walking in truth, as we have received a commandment from the Father.
5 Ka mhläkphyanak Nghnuminu aw, mat ja mat mi mhläkphya na vai tia ning nghui na veng. Ahin hin ngthupet kthai ka ning jah yuk law am ni, akcüka khyüh mi yaha ngthupet ni.
And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto thee, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another.
6 Mhläkphyanak ka ti hin ta; Pamhnama ngthupete jah läklam lü xüngsei ni. Akcüka khyüh nami ngjak pänga ngthupet ta, mhläkphyanak üng nami xüngsei yah khaie.
And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.
7 Nghngicim ning üng Jesuh Khritaw kyum lawki ti cun mah u lü hleihlaki khawkän cun khawmdek alum üng cit hü päng ve u. Acuna khyange cun khyang k’hleie ja Anti-Khrit hea kyaki.
For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.
8 Nami pawh päng käh khyükleih be lü ngkhyengnak nami yah vaia mceiei u bä.
Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.
9 Khritawa mtheinak käh läklam lü, acuna thea bilokie cun, Pamhnam am ksingki he ni. Khritawa mtheinak läklamki cun naw Pa ja Capa jah ksingki ni.
Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
10 Khritawa mtheinak am lawpüi lü nami ima lawki a ve üng ta käh dokham kawm uki. “Dimdeihnak na khana be se” pi käh nami ti vai u.
If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:
11 “Dawkyanak be se” ti lü dokhamki cun ania mkhyekatnak üng ngpüiki ni.
For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.
12 Ka ning jah mtheh vai khawhah veki, cajawt ja hmen am yuka am yü ngü. Nami veia law lü akhyang puma ning jah mtheh ngü se, avana mi jekyainak a kümbe vaia phäh ning jah hmuh law vaia ka ngaiki.
Having many things to write unto you, I would not write with paper and ink: but I trust to come unto you, and speak face to face, that our joy may be full.
13 Nami mhläkphyanaka nami Cia canae naw pi yai lü ve u se ami ti.
The children of thy elect sister greet thee. Amen.
