1 Acunakyase, mkhyenak naküt, hleihlaknak naküt, ngsaihnak naküt, ngkeingkünak naküt ja pyenksenak mjüküm jah hawih ua.
Putting away therefore all wickedness, all deceit, hypocrisies, envies, and all evil speaking,

as newborn babies, long for the pure spiritual milk, that with it you may grow,
3 Cangcim naw a pyena kba, “Bawipa ihlawka akcanga dawki ti cun namimät naw nami cayah pängki.”
if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious.
4 Khyang he naw ia käh mawngmeikia ngai lü ami ma. Cunüngpi, Pamhnam naw aphu küia a xü päng, xüngseikia lung Bawipaa veia law ua.
Come to him, a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God, precious.
5 Nangmi pi xüngseikia lunga kya u lü, ngmüimkhya üng sängeikia im sawngsaknak üng sumei ua. Acuna im üng ktaiyü ngcime naw Jesuh Khritawa ngming am Pamhnama veia ngmüimkhya üng sängeikia ngkengnak ami petnak vai hnüna kyaki.
You also as living stones are built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
6 Cangcim üng, “Aphu küi lung ka xü, Zion mcunga aphungnua ka tak; Ani jumeiki naküt cun itia pi käh hmaiset khai” ti lü veki.
Because it is contained in Scripture, “Behold, I lay in Zion a chief cornerstone, chosen and precious. He who believes in him will not be disappointed.”
7 Ahina lung nami jumeikie phäh ta aphu kdäm yah khaie. Cunüngpi, am jumeikiea phäh ta: ia am mawngkia ngai lü imksae naw ami nawt hüa lung cun, aphungnu ktunga thawn law khawiki.
For you who believe therefore is the honor, but for those who are disobedient, “The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone,”
8 Cangcim naw a pyen betü ta: “Ahina lung ni khyange jah ngsukeisaki, khyange jah kyukngpäsakia lung.” Ngthu am ami juma phäh ni ami ngsukei; acun ni Pamhnam naw ami phäha a hlüei.

9 Cunüngpi, nangmi ta ning jah xüa khyangmjü, Sangpuxanga ktaiyü he, ngcingcaihkia khyange ja amät Pamhnama sakhyange ni. Pamhnama müncankse khute jah sang khaia, anghmüp khui üngkhyüh amäta müncan phyakia akvai üng ning jah khü be lü a ning jah xü päng ni.
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, that you may proclaim the excellence of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
10 Ahlana ta Pamhnama khyanga am kya uki. Atuh ta ania khyanga nami kyaki. Ahlana ta Pamhnama mpyeneinak am ksing uki. Atuh ta a mpyeneinak nami yaheiki.
In the past, you were not a people, but now are God’s people, who had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
11 Ka püi he aw, khawmdek khana khin ja pekce khyanga kba ning jah nghui na veng. Aläa ngmüimkhya ngtäkpüiki mtisa hlükaw naküt hjawng ua.
Beloved, I beg you as foreigners and pilgrims to abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul,

13 Khyang nghngicima ana naküt Bawipaa ngminga phäh jah läklam ua. Ana ak’hlüng säih taki Emperoa pyen läklam ua.
Therefore subject yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake: whether to the king, as supreme,

15 Khyang kseea am dawkia ngthu ami pyen cun akdaw nami pawhnak naw a jah him vai Pamhnam naw hlüei ve.
For this is the will of God, that by well-doing you should put to silence the ignorance of foolish men.
16 Lätnak yahki khyanga kba nami xüngsekie ni. Cunüngpi, nami lätlangnak cen akse thupnak vaia käh sumei lü, Pamhnama mpyaa kba ve ua.
Live as free people, yet not using your freedom for a cloak of wickedness, but as bondservants of God.
17 Khyang naküt leisawng ua, nami khritjanpüi mhläkphya na ua. Pamhnam kyüh lü Empero pi leisawng ua.
Honor all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.
18 Mpyae aw, leisawngnak am nami bawi veia ng’apei ua. Khyang kdaw ja khyang k’hniphnawiea ma däka am ni lü, khyang mlung k’ngyatea veia pi acukba ve ua.
Servants, be in subjection to your masters with all respect, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the wicked.
19 Pamhnama hlüei nami dangyaha phäh am khamei vai sükyaw nami khamei üng, acuna phäh Pamhnam naw dawkyanak ning jah pe khai.
For it is commendable if someone endures pain, suffering unjustly, because of conscience toward God.
20 Nami mkhyenaka phäh mkhuimkhanak nami dunei üng, i ni nami yah. Cunüngpi, akdaw nami pawha phäh mkhuimkhanak nami dunei üng, Pamhnam naw dawkyanak ning jah pe khai.
For what glory is it if, when you sin, you patiently endure beating? But if when you do well, you patiently endure suffering, this is commendable with God.
21 Ahina phäh ni Pamhnam naw a ning jah khü. Khritaw naw a khawleh üng nglehei lü ani üng nami ngcuhngkih vaia nami phäha khuikhanak khamki.
For you were called to this, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving you an example, that you should follow his steps,
22 Ani cun naw ia mkhyenak pi am pawh. A mpyawng üng hlei a pyen pi u naw am ngja khawi.
who did not sin, “neither was deceit found in his mouth.”
23 Khyang he naw mdihmsui u lü pi, am jah mdihmsui be. Ami mkhuimkha üngpi, am jah mkyühmkyawk be. Ania äpeinak cun ngtäikia ngthumkhyahki Pamhnam üng taki.
When he was cursed, he did not curse back. When he suffered, he did not threaten, but committed himself to him who judges righteously.
24 Mkhyenak üng mi thi lü, ngsungpyunak üng mi xün vaia, mi mkhyenake Khritaw amät naw a pum üng phüi lü kutlamktunga a cehpüi ni. A nghmalem am yainak mi yahki.
He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live to righteousness. You were healed by his wounds.
25 Toa mäiha lam nami hmüki cen, atuh ta ning jah msümceiki Toksäm ja nami ngmüimkhya ning jah Sämbänkia veia nami law beki.
For you were going astray like sheep; but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.
