1 Aliyense ayenera kumvera akulu olamulira, chifukwa palibe ulamuliro umene sunachokere kwa Mulungu. Olamulira amene alipo anayikidwa ndi Mulungu.
Let, every soul, unto protecting authorities be in subjection; for there is no authority save by God, and, they that are in being, have by God been arranged, —
2 Kotero kuti, iwo amene awukira ulamuliro atsutsana ndi chimene Mulungu anakhazikitsa. Ndipo amene atero adzibweretsera okha chilango.
So that, he who rangeth himself against the authority, against the arrangement of God opposeth himself, and, they who oppose, shall unto themselves a sentence of judgment receive.
3 Pakuti olamulira saopseza amene amachita zabwino koma amene amachita zoyipa. Kodi mukufuna kukhala osaopa olamulira? Tsono chitani zoyenera ndipo adzakuyamikirani.
For, they who bear rule, are not a terror unto the good work but unto the evil. Wouldst thou not be afraid of the authority? That which is good, be thou doing, and thou shall have praise of the same;
4 Pakuti iyeyo ndi mtumiki wa Mulungu wokuchitirani zabwino. Koma ngati muchita zoyipa muchite mantha, pakuti iye ali ndi mphamvu zolangira. Iye ndi mtumiki wa Mulungu wobweretsa mkwiyo ndi kulanga onse ochita zoyipa.
For, God’s minister, is he unto thee for that which is good. But, if, that which is evil, thou be doing, be afraid! For, not in vain, the sword he beareth; for, God’s minister, he is, —an avenger, unto anger, to him who practiseth what is evil.
5 Nʼchifukwa chake ndi koyenera kugonjera olamulira, osati chifukwa choopa kulangidwa kokha komanso chifukwa cha chikumbumtima.
Wherefore it is necessary to be in subjection, —not only because of the anger, but also because of the conscience;
6 Ichi nʼchifukwa chakenso inu mumapereka msonkho. Pakuti olamulira ndi atumiki a Mulungu amene amapereka nthawi yawo yonse kulamulira.
For, because of this, are ye paying tribute also, —for, God’s ministers of state, they are, unto this very thing, giving constant attendance.
7 Mubwezereni aliyense amene munamukongola. Ngati inu muli ndi ngongole yamsonkho, perekani msonkho kwa oyenera kuwalipira. Ngati ndi kuopa perekeni kwa oyenera kuwaopa ndipo ngati ndi ulemu kwa oyenera ulemu.
Render unto all their dues, —unto whom tribute, tribute, unto whom tax, tax, unto whom fear, fear, unto whom honour, honour.
8 Musakhale ndi ngongole ndi wina aliyense kupatula ngongole ya kukondana wina ndi mnzake. Pakuti amene amakonda munthu mnzake wakwaniritsa lamulo.
Nothing to any, be owing—save to be loving one another; for, he that loveth his neighbour, hath given to, law, its fulfillment.
9 Malamulo awa: “Usachite chigololo,” “Usaphe,” “Usabe,” “Usasirire,” ndi malamulo ena onse amene alipo, akhazikika pa lamulo limodzi ili, “Konda mnansi wako monga iwe mwini.”
For, this—Thou shall not commit adultery, Thou shall not commit murder, Thou shall not steal, Thou shall not covet, and if there is any different commandment, in this word, is summed up, [namely]—Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
10 Chikondi sichichitira mnzake zoyipa. Chifukwa chake chikondi ndicho chokwaniritsa lamulo.
Love, unto one’s neighbour, worketh not ill; Law’s fullness, therefore, is, love.
11 Ndipo chitani ichi pozindikira nthawi ino. Nthawi yafika yoti inu mudzuke kutulo, chifukwa chipulumutso chathu chili pafupi tsopano kuposa pamene tinayamba kukhulupirira.
And, this besides, —knowing the season—that it is an hour already for you out of sleep to be wakened; for, now, is our salvation nearer than when we believed:
12 Usiku watsala pafupifupi kutha. Kwatsala pangʼono kucha. Tiyeni tsono tichotse ntchito zamdima ndipo tivale chovala chakuwunika.
The night, is far spent and, the day, hath drawn near; let us, then, cast off the works of darkness, [and] let us put on the armour of light, —
13 Tiyeni tikhale moyenera monga nthawi ya masana, osati mʼmagulu amadyerero, achiwerewere ndi kuledzera, mʼmadama ndi zonyansa komanso osati mʼmagawano ndi nsanje.
As in daytime, becomingly let us walk: not in revellings and in drunken bouts, not in chamberings and in wanton deeds, not in strife and envy; —
14 Koma valani Ambuye Yesu Khristu ndipo musaganizire za momwe mungakwaniritsire zokhumba zachikhalidwe cha uchimo.
But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and, for the flesh, take not forethought to fulfil its covetings.
