1 Inu Yehova, ndinu Mulungu wobwezera chilango, Inu Mulungu amene mumabwezera chilango, wonetsani kuwala kwanu.
O God, of vengeance, Lord! O God of vengeance, shine forth.
2 Nyamukani, Inu woweruza wa dziko lapansi; bwezerani kwa odzikuza zowayenera.
Lift up thyself, O judge of the Earth! bring a recompense upon the proud.
3 Kodi mpaka liti anthu oyipa Inu Yehova, mpaka liti anthu oyipa adzalumpha ndi chimwemwe?
How long shall the wicked, O Lord—how long shall the wicked exult?
4 Amakhuthula mawu onyada; onse ochita zoyipa ndi odzaza ndi kudzikuza.
They sputter, they speak hard things: all the workers of wickedness boast themselves.
5 Amaphwanya anthu anu, Inu Yehova; amapondereza cholowa chanu.
Thy people, O Lord! they crush, and thy heritage they afflict.
6 Amaphanso amayi a masiye ndi alendo okhala nawo mʼdziko; amapha ana amasiye.
The widow and the stranger they slay, and the fatherless they murder.
7 Iwo amati, “Yehova sakuona; Mulungu wa Yakobo salabadirako.”
And they say, The Lord will not see, and the God of Jacob will not take notice of it.
8 Samalani, inu anthu opanda nzeru pakati pa anthu; zitsiru inu, kodi mudzakhala liti anzeru?
Understand, ye brutish among the people: and ye fools, when will ye become intelligent!
9 Kodi Iye amene anapanga khutu sangathe kumva? Kodi Iye amene anapanga diso sangathe kuona?
He that hath planted the ear, shall he not hear? or he that hath formed the eye, shall he not see?
10 Kodi Iye amene amalangiza mitundu ya anthu sangathenso kulanga? Kodi Iye amene amaphunzitsa munthu angasowe nzeru?
He that admonisheth nations, shall he not correct? is it not he that teacheth man knowledge!
11 Yehova amadziwa maganizo a munthu; Iye amadziwa kuti maganizowo ndi achabechabe.
The Lord knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are nought.
12 Wodala munthu amene Inu Yehova mumamulangiza, munthu amene mumamuphunzitsa kuchokera mulamulo lanu;
Happy is the man whom thou admonisheth, O Lord, and teachest him out of thy law:
13 mumamupumitsa pa nthawi ya mavuto, mpaka woyipa atakumbiridwa dzenje.
That thou mayest grant him repose from the days of evil, until the pot be dug for the wicked.
14 Pakuti Yehova sadzawakana anthu ake; Iye sadzasiya cholowa chake.
For the Lord will not cast off his people, and his inheritance will he not forsake.
15 Chiweruzo chidzakhazikikanso pa chilungamo, ndipo onse olungama mtima adzachitsata.
For unto righteousness will justice return; and it shall be followed by all the upright in heart.
16 Ndani adzadzuka chifukwa cha ine kulimbana ndi anthu oyipa? Ndani adzayimirira mʼmalo mwanga kulimbana ndi anthu ochita zoyipa?
Who will rise up for me against evil-doers? or who will stand forward for me against the workers of wickedness?
17 Yehova akanapanda kundithandiza, bwenzi nditakakhala msanga ku malo achete a imfa.
Unless the Lord had been a help unto me, but a little would have been wanting that my soul had dwelt in the silence of death.
18 Ndikanena kuti, “Phazi langa likuterereka,” chikondi chanu, Inu Yehova, chimandichirikiza.
When I said, My foot hath slipped: thy kindness, O Lord, sustained me.
19 Pamene nkhawa inakula mʼkati mwanga, chitonthozo chanu chinabweretsa chimwemwe mʼmoyo mwanga.
In the multitude of my [painful] thoughts within me, thy consolations delight my soul.
20 Kodi mpando waufumu woyipa ungathe kugwirizana nanu umene umabweretsa masautso chifukwa cha malamulo ake?
Can there be associated with thee the throne of destructive wickedness, which frameth mischief as a law?
21 Iwo amasonkhana pamodzi kulimbana ndi wolungama ndi kugamula kuti wosalakwa aphedwe.
They band themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and innocent blood do they condemn.
22 Koma Yehova wakhala linga langa, ndipo Mulungu ndiye thanthwe limene ndimathawirako.
But the Lord is become my defence, and my God, the rock of my refuge.
23 Iye adzawabwezera chifukwa cha machimo awo ndi kuwawononga chifukwa cha kuyipa kwawo; Yehova Mulungu wathu adzawawononga.
And he will bring back upon them their own injustice, and in their own wickedness will he destroy them: [yea], he will destroy them—the Lord our God.
