1 Iye amene amakhala mu mthunzi wa Wammwambamwamba adzapuma mu mthunzi wa Wamphamvuzonse.
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High, Under the shadow of the Almighty, will tarry,
2 Ndidzanena za Yehova, “Iye ndiye pothawira panga ndi linga langa, Mulungu wanga amene ndimadalira.”
Saying of Yahweh—My refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I will trust.
3 Ndithu, Iye adzakupulumutsa ku msampha wa mlenje ndi ku mliri woopsa;
For, he, will rescue thee, From the snare of the fowler, From the destructive pestilence.
4 Adzakuphimba ndi nthenga zake, ndipo udzapeza malo othawira mʼmapikomo; kukhulupirika kwake kudzakhala chishango chako ndi lihawo.
With his pinion, will he cover thee, And, under his wings, shalt thou seek refuge, A shield and buckler, is his faithfulness.
5 Sudzachita mantha ndi zoopsa za usiku, kapena muvi wowuluka masana,
Thou shalt not be afraid, Of the dread of the night, Of the arrow that flieth by day;
6 kapena mliri umene umayenda mu mdima, kapena zowononga za pa nthawi ya masana.
Of the pestilence that, in darkness, doth walk, Of the plague that layeth waste at noonday.
7 Anthu 1,000 atha kufa pambali pako, anthu 10,000 kudzanja lako lamanja, koma zoopsazo sizidzafika pafupi ndi iwe.
There shall fall, at thy side, a thousand, Yea, myriads, at thy right hand, Unto thee, shall it not come nigh;
8 Udzapenya ndi maso ako ndipo udzaona mmene anthu oyipa amalangidwira.
Save only, with thine own eyes, shalt thou discern, And, the recompense of the lawless, shalt thou see.
9 Pakuti wasankha Wammwambamwamba kukhala malo ako okhalamo; wavomera Yehova kukhala kothawira kwako.
Because, thou, [hast made] Yahweh, my refuge, —The Most High, thou hast made thy dwelling-place,
10 Choncho palibe choyipa chimene chidzakugwera, zoopsa sizidzafika pafupi ndi tenti yako.
There shall not be sent unto thee misfortune, Nor shall, plague, come near into thy tent;
11 Pakuti adzalamulira angelo ake za iwe, kuti akutchinjirize mosamala pa njira zako zonse;
For, his messengers, will he charge concerning thee, To keep thee, in all thy ways;
12 ndipo adzakunyamula ndi manja awo, kuti phazi lako lisagunde pa mwala.
On hands, will they bear thee up, Lest thou strike, against a stone, thy foot;
13 Udzapondaponda mkango ndi njoka, udzapondereza mkango wamphamvu ndiponso chinjoka.
On the lion and adder, shalt thou tread, Shalt trample on young lion and crocodile.
14 “Chifukwa iye amandikonda,” akutero Yehova, “Ndidzamulanditsa; ndidzamuteteza pakuti wavomereza dzina langa.
Because, on me, he hath set firm his love, Therefore will I deliver him, I will set him on high, Because he hath known my Name;
15 Adzandiyitana, ndipo ndidzamuyankha; ndidzakhala naye pa mavuto, ndidzamupulumutsa ndi kumulemekeza.
He shall call me, and I will answer him, With him, will, I, be, in distress, I will rescue him, and will honour him;
16 Ndidzamupatsa moyo wautali ndi kumupulumutsa.”
With length of days, will I satisfy him, And will show him my salvation.
