1 Kwa mtsogoleri wa mayimbidwe. Salimo la Davide. Ndimvereni Mulungu pomwe ndikunena madandawulo anga; tetezani moyo wanga ku chiopsezo cha mdani.
“For the leader of the music. A psalm of David.” Hear my voice, O God! when I pray! Preserve my life from the terrors of the enemy!
2 Ndibiseni ku chiwembu cha anthu oyipa, ku gulu laphokoso la anthu ochita zoyipa.
Hide me from the assembly of the wicked, From the brawling crowd of evil-doers!
3 Iwo amanola malilime awo ngati malupanga, amaponya mawu awo olasa ngati mivi.
For like a sword they sharpen their tongues, Like arrows they aim their poisoned words,
4 Iwo amaponya mivi yawo ali pa malo wobisala kwa munthu wosalakwa; amamulasa modzidzimutsa ndi mopanda mantha.
To shoot in secret at the upright; Suddenly do they shoot at him without fear.
5 Iwo amalimbikitsana wina ndi mnzake pa chikonzero chawo choyipa, amayankhula zobisa misampha yawo; ndipo amati, “Adzayiona ndani?”
They prepare themselves for an evil deed; They commune of laying secret snares: “Who,” say they, “will see them?”
6 Iwo amakonzekera zosalungama ndipo amati, “Takonza ndondomeko yabwino kwambiri!” Ndithu maganizo ndi mtima wa munthu ndi zachinyengo.
They meditate crimes: “We have finished,” say they, “our plans!” The heart and bosom of every one of them are deep.
7 Koma Mulungu adzawalasa ndi mivi; mwadzidzidzi adzakanthidwa.
But God will shoot an arrow at them; Suddenly shall they be wounded.
8 Iye adzatembenuza milomo yawoyo kuwatsutsa ndi kuwasandutsa bwinja; onse amene adzawaona adzagwedeza mitu yawo mowanyoza.
Thus their own tongues shall bring them down; All who see them will flee away.
9 Anthu onse adzachita mantha; adzalengeza ntchito za Mulungu ndi kulingalira mozama zomwe Iye wazichita.
Then will all men stand in awe, And declare what God hath done, And attentively consider his work.
10 Lolani wolungama akondwere mwa Yehova ndi kubisala mwa Iye, owongoka mtima onse atamande Iye!
The righteous shall rejoice, and trust in the LORD; All the upright in heart shall glory.
