1 Kwa mtsogoleri wa mayimbidwe. Potsata mayimbidwe a “Njiwa pa Mtengo wa Thundu wa Kutali.” Mikitamu ya Davide, pamene Afilisti anamugwira ku Gati. Mundichitire chifundo Inu Mulungu, pakuti anthu akundithamangitsa kwambiri; tsiku lonse akundithira nkhondo.

2 Ondinyoza akundithamangitsa tsiku lonse, ambiri akumenyana nane monyada.
Mine adversaries have panted all the day, For, many, are fighting with me, loftily.
3 Ndikachita mantha ndimadalira Inu.
What day I am afraid, I, unto thee will direct my confidence.
4 Mwa Mulungu, amene mawu ake ine ndimatamanda, mwa Mulungu ine ndimadaliramo; sindidzachita mantha. Kodi munthu amene amafa angandichite chiyani?
In God, I will praise his cause, —In God, have I trusted, I will not fear, What can flesh do unto me?
5 Tsiku lonse amatembenuza mawu anga; nthawi zonse amakonza zondivulaza.
All the day, they wrest, my words, Against me, all their devices are for mischief;
6 Iwo amakambirana, amandibisalira, amayangʼanitsitsa mayendedwe anga ndipo amakhala ndi chidwi chofuna kuchotsa moyo wanga.
They stir up strife—they lie hid, They, mark my steps, —Seeing they have waited for my life.
7 Musalole konse kuti athawe; mu mkwiyo wanu Mulungu mugwetse mitundu ya anthu.
Because of iniquity, recompense thou them, —In anger, bring thou down, the peoples, O God.
8 Mulembe za kulira kwanga, mulembe chiwerengero cha misozi yanga mʼbuku lanu. Kodi zimenezi sizinalembedwe mʼbuku lanulo?
My wandering, hast, thou, recorded, —Put thou my tears in thy bottle, Are they not in thy record?
9 Adani anga adzabwerera mʼmbuyo pamene ndidzalirira kwa Inu. Pamenepo ndidzadziwa kuti Mulungu ali ku mbali yanga.
Then, shall my foes turn back, in the day I cry, This, I know, for God is mine!
10 Mwa Mulungu amene mawu ake ndimawatamanda, mwa Yehova amene mawu ake ndimawatamanda,
In God, will I praise with good cause: In Yahweh, will I praise with good cause;
11 mwa Mulungu ine ndimadalira ndipo sindidzachita mantha. Kodi munthu angandichite chiyani?
In God, have I trusted, I will not fear, What can a son of earth do unto me!
12 Ndiyenera kuchita zomwe ndinalumbira kwa Mulungu; ndidzapereka nsembe zanga zachiyamiko kwa inu.
Upon me, O God, are thy vows, I will pay back praises unto thee.
13 Pakuti mwawombola moyo wanga ku imfa ndi mapazi anga kuti ndingagwe, kuti ndiyende pamaso pa Mulungu mʼkuwala kwa moyo.
For thou hast rescued my soul from death, Wilt thou not [rescue] my feet from stumbling? That I may walk to and fro, before God, In the light of life.
