< Masalimo 44 >

1 Kwa mtsogoleri wa mayimbidwe. Ndakatulo ya ana a Kora. Ife tamva ndi makutu athu, Inu Mulungu; makolo athu atiwuza zimene munachita mʼmasiku awo, masiku akalekalewo.
We have sh'ma ·heard obeyed· with our ears, God; our fathers have told us, what work you did in their days, in the days of old.
2 Ndi dzanja lanu munathamangitsa mitundu ya anthu ena ndi kudzala makolo athu; Inu munakantha mitundu ya anthu, koma makolo athuwo Inu munawapatsa ufulu.
You drove out the nations with your hand, but you planted them. You afflicted the peoples, but you spread them abroad.
3 Sanalande dziko ndi lupanga lawo, si mkono wawo umene unawabweretsera chigonjetso, koma ndi dzanja lanu lamanja, mkono wanu ndi kuwala kwa nkhope yanu, pakuti munawakonda.
For they didn’t get the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them; but your right hand, and your arm, and the light of your face, because you were favorable to them.
4 Inu ndinu Mfumu yanga ndi Mulungu wanga amene mumalamulira chigonjetso cha Yakobo.
You are my King, God. Enjoin yishu'ah ·deliverance· for Jacob [Supplanter]!
5 Kudzera kwa inu ife timabweza adani athu; kudzera mʼdzina lanu timapondereza otiwukirawo.
Through you, will we push down our adversaries. Through your name, will we tread them under who rise up against us.
6 Sindidalira uta wanga, lupanga langa silindibweretsera chigonjetso;
For I will not trust in my bow, neither shall my sword save me.
7 koma Inu mumatigonjetsera adani athu, mumachititsa manyazi amene amadana nafe.
But you have saved us from our adversaries, and have shamed those who hate us.
8 Timanyadira mwa Mulungu wathu tsiku lonse, ndipo tidzatamanda dzina lanu kwamuyaya.
In God we have made our boast all day long, we will yadah ·extend hands in thankful praise· to your name forever. (Selah) ·contemplation with musical interlude·.
9 Koma tsopano mwatikana ndi kutichepetsa; Inu simupitanso ndi ankhondo athu.
But now you rejected us, and brought us to dishonor, and don’t go out with our armies.
10 Munachititsa ife kubwerera mʼmbuyo pamaso pa mdani ndipo amene amadana nafe atilanda katundu.
You make us turn back from the adversary. Those who hate us take plunder for themselves.
11 Inu munatipereka kuti tiwonongedwe monga nkhosa ndipo mwatibalalitsa pakati pa anthu a mitundu ina.
You have made us like sheep for food, and have scattered us among the nations.
12 Inu munagulitsa anthu anu pa mtengo wotsika, osapindulapo kanthu pa malondawo.
You sell your people for nothing, and have gained nothing from their sale.
13 Mwachititsa kuti tikhale chochititsa manyazi kwa anthu a mitundu ina, chonyozeka ndi chothetsa nzeru kwa iwo amene atizungulira.
You make us a reproach to our neighbors, a scoffing and a derision to those who are around us.
14 Mwachititsa kuti tikhale onyozeka pakati pa anthu a mitundu ina; anthu amapukusa mitu yawo akationa.
You make us a byword among the nations, a shaking of the head among the peoples.
15 Manyazi anga ali pamaso panga tsiku lonse ndipo nkhope yanga yaphimbidwa ndi manyazi
All day long my dishonor is before me, and shame covers my face,
16 chifukwa cha mawu otonza a iwo amene amandinyoza ndi kundichita chipongwe, chifukwa cha mdani amene watsimikiza kubwezera.
At the taunt of one who reproaches and verbally abuses, because of the enemy and the avenger.
17 Zonsezi zinatichitikira ngakhale kuti ifeyo sitinayiwale Inu kapena kuonetsa kusakhulupirika pa pangano lanu.
All this has come on us, yet have we not forgotten you, Neither have we been false to your covenant ·binding contract between two or more parties·.
18 Mitima yathu sinabwerere mʼmbuyo; mapazi athu sanatayike pa njira yanu.
Our heart has not turned back, neither have our steps strayed from your path,
19 Koma Inu mwatiphwanya ndi kuchititsa kuti tikhale ozunzidwa ndi ankhandwe ndipo mwatiphimba ndi mdima waukulu.
Though you have crushed us in the haunt of jackals, and covered us with the shadow of death.
20 Tikanayiwala dzina la Mulungu wathu kapena kutambasulira manja athu kwa mulungu wachilendo,
If we have forgotten the name of our God, or spread out our hands to a strange deity;
21 kodi Mulungu wathu sakanazidziwa zimenezi, pakuti Iye amadziwa zinsinsi zamumtima?
won’t God search this out? For he knows the secrets of the heart.
22 Komabe chifukwa cha Inu timakumana ndi imfa tsiku lonse, tili ngati nkhosa zoyenera kuti ziphedwe.
Yes, for your sake we are killed all day long. We are regarded as sheep for the slaughter.
23 Dzukani Ambuye! Nʼchifukwa chiyani mukugona! Dziwutseni nokha! Musatikane kwamuyaya.
Wake up! Why do you sleep, Lord? Arise! Don’t reject us forever.
24 Nʼchifukwa chiyani mukubisa nkhope yanu, ndi kuyiwala mavuto athu ndi kuponderezedwa kwathu?
Why do you hide your face, and forget our affliction and our oppression?
25 Tatsitsidwa pansi mpaka pa fumbi; matupi athu amatirira pa dothi.
For our soul is bowed down to the dust. Our body clings to the earth.
26 Imirirani ndi kutithandiza, tiwomboleni chifukwa cha chikondi chanu chosasinthika.
Rise up to help us. Redeem us for your chesed ·loving-kindness’· sake.
