< Masalimo 16 >
1 Mikitamu ya Davide. Ndisungeni Inu Mulungu, pakuti ine ndimathawira kwa Inu.
[A Poem by David.] Preserve me, God, for in you do I take refuge.
2 Ndinati kwa Yehova, “Inu ndinu Ambuye anga; popanda Inu, ine ndilibe chinthu chinanso chabwino.”
I said to the LORD, "You are my Lord. Apart from you I have no good thing."
3 Kunena za oyera mtima amene ali pa dziko, amenewa ndi olemekezeka, amene ndimakondwera nawo.
As for the holy ones who are in the land, they are the excellent ones in whom is all my delight.
4 Anthu amene amathamangira kwa milungu ina mavuto awo adzachulukadi. Ine sindidzathira nawo nsembe zawo zamagazi kapena kutchula mayina awo ndi pakamwa panga.
Their sorrows will multiply who pay a dowry for another. Their drink offerings of blood I will not offer, nor take their names on my lips.
5 Yehova, Inu mwandipatsa cholowa changa ndi chikho changa; mwateteza kolimba gawo langa.
The LORD is the portion of my inheritance and my cup. You made my lot secure.
6 Malire a malo anga akhala pabwino; ndithudi, ine ndili cholowa chokondweretsa kwambiri.
The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places. Yes, beautiful is my inheritance.
7 Ine ndidzatamanda Yehova amene amandipatsa uphungu; ngakhale usiku mtima wanga umandilangiza.
I will bless the LORD, who has given me counsel. Yes, my heart instructs me in the night seasons.
8 Ndayika Yehova patsogolo panga nthawi zonse. Popeza Iyeyo ali kudzanja langa lamanja, sindidzagwedezeka.
I have put the LORD before me at all times. Because he is at my right hand I will never be upended.
9 Choncho mtima wanga ndi wosangalala ndipo pakamwa panga pakukondwera; thupi langanso lidzakhala pabwino,
Therefore my heart is glad, and my tongue rejoices. My body shall also dwell in safety.
10 chifukwa Inu simudzandisiya ku manda, simudzalola kuti woyera wanu avunde. (Sheol )
For you will not abandon my soul in Sheol, neither will you allow your Holy One to see decay. (Sheol )
11 Inu mwandidziwitsa njira ya moyo; mudzandidzaza ndi chimwemwe pamaso panu, ndidzasangalala mpaka muyaya pa dzanja lanu lamanja.
You make known to me the path of life. In your presence is fullness of joy. In your right hand there are pleasures forevermore.
