1 Nyimbo yoyimba pokwera ku Yerusalemu. Ndikulirira kwa Inu Yehova ndili mʼdzenje lozama;

A Song of Ascents. Out of the depths I have cried to you, LORD.

2 Ambuye imvani mawu anga. Makutu anu akhale tcheru kumva kupempha chifundo kwanga.

Lord, hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to the voice of my petitions.

3 Inu Yehova, mukanamawerengera machimo, Inu Yehova, akanayima chilili ndani wopanda mlandu?

If you, LORD, kept a record of sins, Lord, who could stand?

4 Koma kwa Inu kuli chikhululukiro; nʼchifukwa chake mumaopedwa.

But there is forgiveness with you, therefore you are feared.

5 Ndimayembekezera Yehova, moyo wanga umayembekezera, ndipo ndimakhulupirira mawu ake.

I wait for the LORD. My soul waits. I hope in his word.

6 Moyo wanga umayembekezera Ambuye, kupambana momwe alonda amayembekezera mmawa, inde, kupambana momwe alonda amayembekezera mmawa,

My soul longs for the Lord more than watchmen long for the morning, more than watchmen for the morning.

7 Yembekeza Yehova, iwe Israeli, pakuti Yehova ali ndi chikondi chosasinthika ndipo alinso ndi chipulumutso chochuluka.

Israel, hope in the LORD, for there is loving kindness with the LORD. Abundant redemption is with him.

8 Iye mwini adzawombola Israeli ku machimo ake onse.

He will redeem Israel from all their sins.
