< Masalimo 114 >
1 Pamene Israeli anatuluka mu Igupto, nyumba ya Yakobo kuchoka ku mtundu wa anthu a chiyankhulo chachilendo,
When Israel left Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people who spoke a foreign language,
2 Yuda anasanduka malo opatulika a Mulungu, Israeli anasanduka ufumu wake.
Judah became his holy place, Israel his kingdom.
3 Nyanja inaona ndi kuthawa, mtsinje wa Yorodani unabwerera mʼmbuyo;
The sea looked and fled; the Jordan turned back.
4 mapiri analumphalumpha ngati nkhosa zazimuna, timapiri ngati ana ankhosa.
The mountains skipped like rams, the hills skipped like lambs.
5 Nʼchifukwa chiyani iwe unathawa? iwe mtsinje wa Yorodani unabwereranji mʼmbuyo?
Why did you flee, sea? Jordan, why did you turn back?
6 inu mapiri, munalumphalumphiranji ngati nkhosa zazimuna, inu timapiri, ngati ana ankhosa?
Mountains, why did you skip like rams? You little hills, why did you skip like lambs?
7 Njenjemera pamaso pa Ambuye iwe dziko lapansi, pamaso pa Mulungu wa Yakobo,
Tremble, earth, before the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob.
8 amene anasandutsa thanthwe kukhala chitsime, thanthwe lolimba kukhala akasupe a madzi.
He turned the rock into a pool of water, the hard rock into a spring of water.
