< Miyambo 8 >
1 Kodi nzeru sikuyitana? Kodi nzeru yomvetsa zinthu sinakweze mawu ake?
Doth not wisdom call? And understanding give forth her voice?
2 Nzeru imayima pa zitunda mʼmbali mwa njira, imayima pa mphambano ya misewu.
At the head of high places by the way, Between the paths she hath stood,
3 Imafuwula pafupi ndi zipata zolowera mu mzinda, pa makomo olowera imafuwula kuti,
At the side of the gates, at the mouth of the city, The entrance of the openings, she crieth aloud,
4 Inu anthu, ndikuyitana inu; ndikuyitanatu anthu onse.
'Unto you, O men, I call, And my voice [is] unto the sons of men.
5 Inu amene simudziwa kanthunu khalani ochenjera; inu amene ndi opusa, khalani ndi mtima womvetsa zinthu.
Understand, ye simple ones, prudence, And ye fools, understand the heart,
6 Mverani, pakuti ndikukuwuzani zinthu zofunika kwambiri; ndatsekula pakamwa panga ndipo payankhula zolungama.
Hearken, for noble things I speak, And the opening of my lips [is] uprightness.
7 Pakamwa panga pamayankhula zoona ndimanyansidwa ndi kuyankhula zoyipa.
For truth doth my mouth utter, And an abomination to my lips [is] wickedness.
8 Mawu onse a pakamwa panga ndi olungama; mʼmawu angawo mulibe zokhotakhota kapena zopotoka.
In righteousness [are] all the sayings of my mouth, Nothing in them is froward and perverse.
9 Kwa anthu ozindikira, mawu anga onse ndi woona; kwa anthu amene ali ndi nzeru zomvetsa zinthu, mawu angawo ndi okhoza.
All of them [are] plain to the intelligent, And upright to those finding knowledge.
10 Landirani malangizo anga mʼmalo mwa siliva, nzeru zomvetsa zinthu mʼmalo mwa golide wabwino.
Receive my instruction, and not silver, And knowledge rather than choice gold.
11 Paja nzeru ndi yabwino kwambiri kuposa miyala yamtengowapatali, ndipo zonse zimene ungazifune sizingafanane ndi nzeru.
For better [is] wisdom than rubies, Yea, all delights are not comparable with it.
12 Ine nzeru, ndimakhala pamodzi ndi kuchenjera. Ine ndimadziwa zinthu ndiponso ndimalingalira zinthu bwino.
I, wisdom, have dwelt with prudence, And a knowledge of devices I find out.
13 Kuopa Yehova ndiko kudana ndi zoyipa. Ine ndimadana ndi kunyada, kudzitama, kuchita zoyipa, ndiponso kuyankhula zonyenga.
The fear of Jehovah [is] to hate evil; Pride, and arrogance, and an evil way, And a froward mouth, I have hated.
14 Ndine mwini uphungu ndi maganizo abwino; ndili ndi nzeru yomvetsa zinthu ndiponso mphamvu.
Mine [is] counsel and substance, I [am] understanding, I have might.
15 Ndine amene ndimathandiza mafumu kulamulira. Ndimawathandiza olamulira kukhazikitsa malamulo olungama.
By me kings reign, and princes decree righteousness,
16 Ndine amene ndimathandiza akalonga polamula. Ndinenso amene ndimathandiza akuluakulu onse kulamulira bwino dziko.
By me do chiefs rule, and nobles, All judges of the earth.
17 Ndimakonda amene amandikonda, ndipo amene amandifunafuna amandipeza.
I love those loving me, And those seeking me earnestly do find me.
18 Ine ndili ndi chuma ndi ulemu, chuma ndi kupindula pa ntchito kokhazikika.
Wealth and honour [are] with me, Lasting substance and righteousness.
19 Chipatso changa ndi chabwino kuposa golide, ngakhale golide wosalala; zimene ine ndimabereka zimaposa siliva wabwino kwambiri.
Better [is] my fruit than gold, even fine gold, And mine increase than choice silver.
20 Ndimachita zinthu zolungama. Ine sindipatuka mʼnjira za chilungamo.
In a path of righteousness I cause to walk, In midst of paths of judgment,
21 Ndimapereka chuma kwa amene amandikonda ndi kudzaza nyumba zawo zosungiramo chuma.
To cause my lovers to inherit substance, Yea, their treasures I fill.
22 “Yehova anandilenga ine nzeru monga ntchito yake yoyamba. Mwa ntchito zake zakalekale yoyamba ndinali ine.
Jehovah possessed me — the beginning of His way, Before His works since then.
23 Ndinapangidwa kalekalelo, pachiyambi penipeni dziko lapansi lisanalengedwe.
From the age I was anointed, from the first, From former states of the earth.
24 Nyanja, akasupe odzaza ndi madzi, zonsezi kulibe pamene ine ndinkabadwa.
In there being no depths, I was brought forth, In there being no fountains heavy [with] waters,
25 Mapiri asanakhazikitsidwe pa malo awo, mapiri angʼonoangʼono asanakhalepo, ine ndinali nditabadwa kale,
Before mountains were sunk, Before heights, I was brought forth.
26 lisanalengedwe dziko lapansi ndi minda yake; lisanalengedwe dothi loyamba la dziko lapansi.
While He had not made the earth, and out-places, And the top of the dusts of the world.
27 Ine ndinalipo pamene Yehova ankakhazikitsa mlengalenga, pamene ankalemba malire a nyanja yozama,
In His preparing the heavens I [am] there, In His decreeing a circle on the face of the deep,
28 pamene anakhazikitsa mitambo ya mlengalenga ndi kukhazikitsa akasupe a madzi ozama,
In His strengthening clouds above, In His making strong fountains of the deep,
29 pamene anayikira nyanja malire kuti madzi asadutse malirewo, ndiponso pamene ankayika malire a dziko lapansi.
In His setting for the sea its limit, And the waters transgress not His command, In His decreeing the foundations of earth,
30 Tsono ine ndinali pambali pake ngati mmisiri; ndikumukondweretsa tsiku ndi tsiku, kusangalala nthawi zonse pamaso pake.
Then I am near Him, a workman, And I am a delight — day by day. Rejoicing before Him at all times,
31 Ndinkasangalala ndi dziko lake lonse ndiponso kumakondwera nawo anthu onse.”
Rejoicing in the habitable part of His earth, And my delights [are] with the sons of men.
32 “Ndiye tsono ana inu, ndimvereni; odala anthu amene amasunga njira zanga.
And now, ye sons, hearken to me, Yea, happy are they who keep my ways.
33 Mverani malangizo anga kuti mukhale ndi nzeru; musanyozere mawu anga.
Hear instruction, and be wise, and slight not.
34 Wodala munthu amene amandimvera, amene amakhala pa khomo panga tsiku ndi tsiku, kudikirira pa chitseko changa.
O the happiness of the man hearkening to me, To watch at my doors day by day, To watch at the door-posts of my entrance.
35 Paja aliyense amene apeza ine wapeza moyo ndipo Yehova amamukomera mtima.
For whoso is finding me, hath found life, And bringeth out good-will from Jehovah.
36 Koma amene alephera kundipeza, amadzipweteka yekha; onse amene amandida amakonda imfa.”
And whoso is missing me, is wronging his soul, All hating me have loved death!
