Miyambo 12
1 Munthu amene amakonda mwambo amakonda kudziwa zinthu, koma amene amadana ndi chidzudzulo ndi wopusa.
He that loveth correction, loveth knowledge, but, he that hateth reproof, is brutish.
2 Munthu wabwino amapeza kuyanja pamaso pa Yehova, koma Yehova amatsutsa munthu wochita chinyengo.
A good man, obtaineth favour from Yahweh, but, a man of wicked devices, will he condemn.
3 Munthu sangakhazikike bwino pochita zoyipa, koma maziko a anthu olungama sadzatekeseka.
A son of earth, shall not be established, by lawlessness, but, the root of the righteous, shall not be disturbed.
4 Mkazi wakhalidwe labwino ali ngati chipewa chaufumu kwa mwamuna wake, koma mkazi wochititsa manyazi ali ngati chilonda cha mafinya kwa mwamuna wake.
A virtuous woman, is the crown of her husband, but, a veritable decay in his bones, is she that causeth shame.
5 Maganizo a anthu olungama ndi owongoka, koma malangizo a anthu oyipa ndi achinyengo.
The plans of the righteous, are just, but, the counsels of the lawless, are deceitful.
6 Mawu a anthu oyipa ndi ophetsa, koma mawu a anthu olungama amapulumutsa.
The words of the lawless, are—of lying in wait for blood, but, the mouth of the upright, shall deliver them.
7 Anthu oyipa amagonjetsedwa ndipo amayiwalika, koma nyumba ya anthu olungama idzakhalabe.
Overthrown are the lawless and they are not, but, the house of the righteous, shall stand.
8 Munthu amatamandidwa malinga ndi nzeru zake, koma anthu amitima yokhota amanyozedwa.
In proportion to his prudence, is a man, to be praised, but, the perverse in heart, shall be an object of contempt.
9 Nʼkwabwino kukhala munthu wonyozeka koma wodzigwirira ntchito nʼkukhala ndi zonse zofunika, kuposa kukhala wodzikuza koma ulibe ndi chakudya chomwe.
Better slighted, and have a servant, than to honour oneself, and come short of bread.
10 Munthu wolungama amasamalira moyo wa ziweto zake, koma chifundo cha munthu woyipa ndi chakhanza.
A righteous man, regardeth the desire of his beast, but, the compassions of the lawless, are cruel.
11 Wolima mʼmunda mwake mwakhama adzakhala ndi chakudya chochuluka, koma wotsata zopanda pake alibe nzeru.
He that tilleth his land, shall be filled with food, but, he that runneth after worthless men, lacketh sense.
12 Munthu woyipa amalakalaka zofunkha za anthu oyipa, koma mizu ya anthu olungama imabereka zipatso.
A lawless man craveth the prey of the wicked, but, the root of the righteous, is enduring.
13 Munthu woyipa amakodwa mu msampha wa mayankhulidwe ake oyipa; koma munthu wolungama amatuluka mʼmavuto.
By the transgression of the lips, is the wicked man, ensnared, but the righteous, cometh out of distress.
14 Munthu amakhala ndi zabwino zambiri chifukwa cha mawu ake ndipo ntchito zimene munthu agwira ndi manja ake zimamupindulira.
Of the fruit of a man’s mouth, shall he be satisfied with good, and, the dealing of the hands of a son of earth, shall be paid back to him.
15 Zochita za chitsiru mwini wakeyo amaziona ngati zabwino, koma munthu wanzeru amamvera malangizo.
The way of the foolish, is right in his own eyes, but, he that hearkeneth to counsel, is wise.
16 Mkwiyo wa chitsiru umadziwika nthawi yomweyo, koma munthu wanzeru sasamala kunyozedwa.
A foolish man, on the [same] day, letteth his vexation be known, but, he that concealeth an affront, is prudent.
17 Woyankhula zoona amapereka umboni woona, koma mboni yabodza imafotokoza zonama.
He that whispereth faithfulness, declareth righteousness, but, a false witness, is a fraud.
18 Munthu woyankhula mosasamala mawu ake amalasa ngati lupanga, koma mawu a munthu wanzeru amachiritsa.
There is who babbleth, as with thrusts of a sword, but, the tongue of the wise, hath healing.
19 Mawu woona amakhala mpaka muyaya koma mawu abodza sakhalitsa.
A lip that is faithful, shall be firm to futurity, but, only for a twinkling, is the tongue that is false.
20 Mʼmitima ya anthu amene amakonza zoyipa muli chinyengo; koma anthu olimbikitsa za mtendere amakhala ndi chimwemwe.
Deceit, is in the heart of contrivers of mischief, but, to the counsellors of peace, shall be joy.
21 Palibe choyipa chimene chimagwera munthu wolungama, koma munthu woyipa mavuto samuthera.
Unseemly to the righteous, is any trouble, but, the lawless, are full of misfortune.
22 Pakamwa pa bodza pamamunyansa Yehova, koma amakondwera ndi anthu oyankhula zoona.
An abomination to Yahweh, are lips that are false, but, he that dealeth faithfully, is his delight.
23 Munthu wochenjera amabisa nzeru zake, koma munthu wopusa amaonetsa uchitsiru wake poyera.
A prudent man, concealeth knowledge, but, the heart of dullards, proclaimeth folly.
24 Ogwira ntchito mwakhama adzalamulira, koma aulesi adzakhala ngati kapolo.
The hand of the diligent, shall bear rule, but, the indolent, shall come under tribute.
25 Nkhawa imakhala ngati katundu wolemera mu mtima mwa munthu, koma mawu abwino amamusangalatsa.
When anxiety is in the heart of a man, one may bow him down, but, a good word, maketh him glad.
26 Munthu wolungama amatsogolera mnansi wake, koma ntchito za anthu oyipa zimawasocheretsa.
The righteous man guideth his neighbour, but, the way of the lawless, leadeth them astray.
27 Munthu waulesi sapeza chimene akufuna, koma munthu wakhama amapeza chuma chamtengo wapatali.
Indolence, roasteth not, his own game, but, the substance of a man, is precious, when he is diligent.
28 Mʼnjira yachilungamo muli moyo; koma njira ya munthu woyipa imafikitsa ku imfa.
In the way of righteousness, is life, and, in the path thereof, immortality,
