Nehemiya 7
1 Khoma linamangidwa ndipo zitseko zinayikidwa. Pambuyo pake alonda a Nyumba ya Mulungu, oyimba nyimbo ndiponso Alevi anasankhidwa.
And it came to pass, when the wall was built, that I set up the doors; and then were appointed the gatekeepers and the singers and the [other] Levites [to their office].
2 Kenaka ine ndinasankha mʼbale wanga Hanani pamodzi ndi Hananiya woyangʼanira nsanja yankhondo kukhala olamulira Yerusalemu chifukwa iyeyu anali munthu odalirika ndi woopa Mulungu kuposa anthu ena.
And I gave my brother Chanani, and Chananyah the commander of the fortress, charge over Jerusalem; for he was esteemed a faithful man, and one that feared God these many days.
3 Ine ndinawawuza kuti, “Musalole kuti zipata za Yerusalemu zitsekulidwe mpaka dzuwa litatentha, ndipo alonda asanaweruke aonetsetse kuti atseka zitseko ndi kuzipiringidza. Musankhe alonda pakati pa anthu okhala mu Yerusalemu, ena akhale pa malo pawo ndi ena akhale moyangʼanana ndi nyumba zawo.”
And I said unto them, The gates of Jerusalem must not be opened until the sun be hot; and while ye stand by, let them shut the doors, and do ye bar them; and station watches of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, every one in his watch, and every one opposite to his house.

But the city was roomy in space and large: while the people therein were few, and the houses were not yet built.
5 Ndipo Mulungu wanga anayika mu mtima mwanga maganizo oti ndisonkhanitse anthu olemekezeka, akuluakulu ndi anthu onse kuti alembetse mayina mwa mabanja awo. Ndinapeza buku limene munalembedwa mayina a mabanja a iwo amene anayamba kubwera kuchokera ku ukapolo. Izi ndi zimene ndinazipeza zitalembedwa mʼmenemo:
Then did my God put it into my heart, and I assembled together the nobles, and the rulers, and the people, that they might give in their genealogy; and I found a register of the genealogy of those who were come up at the first, and I found written therein:
6 Awa ndi anthu a mʼchigawo cha Yuda amene anabwerera kuchokera ku ukapolo amene Nebukadinezara mfumu ya Babuloni anawatenga ukapolo. Iwo anabwerera ku Yerusalemu ndi ku Yuda, aliyense ku mzinda wa makolo ake.
These arc the children of the province, that came up out of the captivity of the exiles, whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had carried into exile, and who returned to Jerusalem and to Judah, every one unto his own city;

All the temple-servants, and the children of Solomon' servants, were three hundred ninety and two.
61 Ali munsiwa anachokera ku Teli-Mela, Teri-Harisa, Kerubi, Adoni, ndi Imeri, koma sanathe kunena mwa tchutchutchu kuti makolo awo kapena mafuko awo analidi Aisraeli kapena ayi.
And these were they who came up from Thel-melach, Thelcharsha, Kerub, Addon, and Immer, but they could not tell their family division and their descent, whether they were of Israel.

And of the priests: The children of Chobayah, the children of Hakkoz, the children of Barzillai who had taken a wife from the daughters of Barzillai the Gil'adite, and was called after their name.
64 Iwowa anafufuzafufuza mayina awo mʼbuku la mibado ya mabanja awo ndipo sanapeze mayina awo kotero anachotsedwa pa unsembe nawerengedwa ngati odetsedwa pa chipembedzo.
These sought for their family register, but it was not found: wherefore they were excluded, as unfit, from the priesthood.
65 Choncho bwanamkubwa anawawuza anthuwo kuti asamadye nawo chakudya china chilichonse choperekedwa kwa Mulungu mpaka patapezeka wansembe wodziwa kugwiritsa bwino ntchito ya Urimu ndi Tumimu.
And the Thirshatha said unto them, that they should not eat of the most holy things, till there should stand up a priest with the Urim and Thummim.
66 Chiwerengero chonse cha anthuwa chinali 42,360.
The whole congregation together was forty and two thousand three hundred and sixty:
67 Kuwonjezera pamenepa panali antchito awo aamuna ndi aakazi 7,337 ndiponso anthu aamuna ndi aakazi oyimba nyimbo okwanira 245.
Besides these were their man-servants and their maid-servants, of whom there were seven thousand three hundred thirty and seven: and they had two hundred and forty and five singing men and singing women.
68 Panali akavalo 736, abulu angʼonoangʼono 245.
Their horses were seven hundred thirty and six; their mules, two hundred forty and five;
69 Ngamira zawo zinalipo 435 ndipo abulu analipo 6,720.
[Their] camels, four hundred thirty and five: [their] asses, six thousand seven hundred and twenty.
70 Atsogoleri ena a mabanja anapereka mphatso zothandizira ntchito. Bwanamkubwa anapereka ku thumba losungira chuma, ndalama zagolide za makilogalamu asanu ndi atatu, mabeseni makumi asanu ndi zovala za ansembe 530.
And a portion of the chiefs of the divisions gave unto the work. The Thirshatha gave to the treasure, of gold one thousand drachms, fifty bowls, five hundred and thirty coats for the priests.
71 Atsogoleri ena amabanja anapereka ku thumba losungira chuma ndalama zagolide zokwana makilogalamu 168, ndiponso ndalama za siliva zokwana makilogalamu 1,250.
And some of the chiefs of the divisions gave to the treasury of the work, of gold twenty thousand drachms, and of silver two thousand and two hundred manehs.
72 Anthu ena onse otsala anapereka ndalama zagolide zokwana makilogalamu 168, ndalama za siliva zokwana makilogalamu 140, ndiponso zovala za ansembe 67.
And what the rest of the people gave was, of gold twenty thousand drachms, and of silver two thousand manehs, and priests coats sixty and seven.
73 Choncho ansembe, Alevi, alonda a Nyumba ya Mulungu, anthu oyimba nyimbo, ena mwa anthu wamba, ogwira ntchito ku Nyumba ya Mulungu pamodzi ndi Aisraeli ena onse ankakhala mʼmizinda yawo. Pofika mwezi wachisanu ndi chiwiri Aisraeli onse anali atakhazikika mʼmizinda yawo.
So the priests, and the Levites, and the gatekeepers, and the singers, and some of the people, and the temple-servants, and all Israel, dwelt in their cities: and so came round the seventh month, while the children of Israel were in their cities.
