< Mateyu 18 >
1 Pa nthawi imeneyo ophunzira anabwera kwa Yesu ndipo anamufunsa kuti, “Wamkulu woposa onse ndani mu ufumu wakumwamba?”
On the same occasion the disciples came to Jesus, and asked him, “Who is really the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”
2 Iye anayitana kamwana kakangʼono ndi kukayimiritsa pakati pawo.
Jesus called a little child to him, and placed it in the middle of them, and then said,
3 Ndipo Iye anati, “Zoonadi, Ine ndikuwuzani kuti ngati simusintha ndi kukhala ngati tiana tatingʼono, simudzalowa konse mu ufumu wakumwamba.
“I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven at all.
4 Chifukwa chake, aliyense amene adzichepetsa yekha ngati kamwana aka, ameneyo ndiye wamkulu koposa onse mu ufumu wakumwamba.
Therefore, anyone who will humble themselves like this child – that person will be the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
5 Ndipo aliyense amene alandira kamwana kakangʼono ngati aka mu dzina langa, alandira Ine.
And anyone who, for the sake of my name, welcomes even one little child like this, is welcoming me.
6 “Koma ngati wina aliyense achimwitsa mmodzi wa ana awa, amene akhulupirira Ine, kuti achimwe, kukanakhala bwino kuti iye amangiriridwe chimwala chachikulu mʼkhosi mwake ndi kumizidwa pansi pa nyanja.
But, if anyone puts temptation in the way of one of these little ones who believe in me, it would be best for them to be sunk in the depths of the sea with a great millstone hung around their neck.
7 Tsoka dziko lapansi chifukwa cha zinthu zimene ziyenera kubwera, koma tsoka kwa munthu amene abweretsa zotere!
Alas for the world because of such temptations! There cannot but be temptations but sorrow awaits the person who does the tempting!
8 Ngati dzanja lako kapena phazi lako likuchimwitsa, lidule ndi kulitaya. Ndi bwino kwa iwe kulowa mʼmoyo wosatha wolumala kusiyana ndi kukhala ndi manja awiri kapena mapazi awiri ndi kukaponyedwa ku moto wosatha. (aiōnios )
“If your hand or your foot causes you to sin, cut it off, and throw it away. It would be better for you to enter life maimed or lame, than to have both hands, or both feet, and be thrown into the fire that never goes out. (aiōnios )
9 Ndipo ngati diso lako likuchimwitsa, ulichotse ndi kulitaya. Ndi bwino kwa iwe kuti ukalowe ku moyo wosatha ndi diso limodzi kuposa ndi kukhala ndi maso awiri ndi kukaponyedwa ku moto wa gehena.” (Geenna )
If your eye causes you to sin, take it out, and throw it away. It would be better for you to enter the life with only one eye, than to have both eyes and be thrown into the fires of Gehenna. (Geenna )
10 “Onetsetsani kuti musanyoze mmodzi wa anawa. Pakuti ndikuwuzani kuti angelo awo kumwamba amakhala pamaso pa Atate anga akumwamba nthawi zonse.”
Beware of despising one of these little ones, for in heaven, I tell you, their angels always see the face of my Father who is in heaven.
11 (Mwana wa Munthu anabwera kudzapulumutsa chimene chinatayika).
12 “Kodi mukuganiza bwanji? Ngati munthu ali ndi nkhosa 100 ndipo imodzi nʼkusowa, kodi sasiya 99 zija mʼmapiri ndi kupita kukafuna imodzi yosocherayo?
“What think you? If a person owns a hundred sheep, and one of them strays, will the person not leave the ninety-nine on the hills, and go and search for the one that is straying?
13 Zoonadi, Ine ndikuwuzani kuti akayipeza amasangalala kwambiri chifukwa cha nkhosa imodziyo kuposa nkhosa 99 zimene sizinasochere.
And, if they succeed in finding it, I tell you that they rejoice more over that one sheep than over the ninety-nine which did not stray.
14 Chimodzimodzinso Atate anu akumwamba safuna kuti mmodzi wa anawa atayike.
So, too, it is the will of my Father who is in heaven that not one of these little ones should be lost.
15 “Ngati mʼbale wako akuchimwira, pita kamuwuze cholakwa chake pa awiri. Ngati akumvera, wamubweza mʼbale wakoyo.
“If your brother or sister does wrong, go to them and convince them of their fault when you are both alone. If they listen to you, you have won them over.
16 Koma ngati sakumvera, katenge wina mmodzi kapena ena awiri, ‘kuti nkhani itsimikizike ndi umboni wa anthu awiri kapena atatu.’
But, if they do not listen to you, take with you one or two others, so that on the evidence of two or three witnesses, every word may be put beyond dispute.
17 Ngati iye akana kuwamvera iwo, kaneneni ku mpingo; ndipo ngati sakamvera ngakhale mpingo, muchite naye monga mukanachitira ndi wakunja kapena wolandira msonkho.
If they refuse to listen to them, speak to the church; and, if they also refuse to listen to the church, treat him as you would a Gentile or a tax-gatherer.
18 “Zoonadi, Ine ndikuwuzani kuti chilichonse chimene muchimanga pa dziko lapansi, chidzamangidwanso kumwamba, ndipo chilichonse chimene muchimasula pa dziko chidzamasulidwanso kumwamba.
“I tell you, all that you forbid on earth will be held in heaven to be forbidden, and all that you allow on earth will be held in heaven to be allowed.
19 “Komanso ndikukuwuzani inu kuti ngati awiri a inu pa dziko lapansi avomerezana kanthu kalikonse kamene mukapempha, Atate anga akumwamba adzakuchitirani.
Again, I tell you that, if but two of you on earth agree as to what they will pray for, whatever it be, it will be granted them by my Father who is in heaven.
20 Pakuti pamene awiri kapena atatu asonkhana pamodzi mʼdzina langa, Ine ndili nawo pomwepo.”
For where two or three have come together in my name, I am present with them.”
21 Kenaka Petro anabwera kwa Yesu ndi kumufunsa kuti, “Ambuye, kodi mʼbale wanga akandichimwira ndimukhululukire kokwanira kangati? Mpaka kasanu nʼkawiri?”
Then Peter came up, and said to Jesus, “Master, how often am I to forgive someone who wrongs me? As many as seven times?”
22 Yesu anayankha kuti, “Ine ndikukuwuza iwe kuti osati kasanu nʼkawiri, koma ka 70 kuchulukitsa ndi kasanu nʼkawiri.
But Jesus answered, “Not seven times, but seventy times seven.
23 “Nʼchifukwa chake, ufumu wakumwamba ukufanana ndi mfumu imene inafuna kuti antchito ake abweze ngongole.
Therefore the kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who wished to settle accounts with his servants.
24 Atangoyamba kulandira, anamubweretsa munthu kwa iye amene anakongola ndalama 10,000.
When he had begun to do so, one of them was brought to him who owed him ten thousand bags of gold;
25 Popeza sakanatha kubweza, bwanayo analamula kuti iye, mkazi wake, ana ake ndi zonse anali nazo zigulitsidwe kuti zibweze ngongoleyo.
and, as he could not pay, his master ordered him to be sold towards the payment of the debt, together with his wife, and his children, and everything that he had.
26 “Wantchitoyo anagwada pamaso pake namupempha iye kuti, ‘Lezereni mtima ndipo ndidzabweza zonse.’
The servant threw himself down on the ground before him and said ‘Have patience with me, and I will pay you all.’
27 Bwana wakeyo anamuchitira chifundo, namukhululukira ngongoleyo ndipo anamulola apite.
The master was moved with compassion; and he let him go, and forgave him the debt.
28 “Koma wantchito uja atatuluka, anakumana ndi wantchito mnzake amene anakongola kwa iye madinari 100. Anamugwira, nayamba kumukanyanga pa khosi, namuwumiriza nati, ‘Bwezere zimene unakongola kwa ine!’
But, on going out, that same servant came upon one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred silver coins. Seizing him by the throat, he said ‘Pay what you owe me.’
29 “Wantchito mnzakeyo anagwada namupempha iye kuti, ‘Lezere mtima ine, ndipo ndidzakubwezera.’
His fellow servant threw himself on the ground and begged for mercy. ‘Have patience with me,’ he said, ‘and I will pay you.’
30 “Koma iye anakana. Mʼmalo mwake, anachoka nakamumangitsa kufikira atabweza ngongoleyo.
But the other would not, but went and put him in prison until he should pay his debt.
31 Pamene antchito ena anaona zomwe zinachitikazo, anamva chisoni kwambiri ndipo anapita nakawuza bwana wawo zonse zimene zinachitika.
When his fellow servants saw what had happened, they were greatly distressed, and went to their master and laid the whole matter before him.
32 “Pamenepo bwanayo anayitana wantchitoyo nati, ‘Iwe wantchito woyipa mtima, ndinakukhululukira ngongole yako yonse chifukwa unandipempha.
So the master sent for the servant, and said to him ‘You wicked servant! When you begged me for mercy, I forgave you the whole of that debt.
33 Kodi iwe sukanamuchitira chifundo wantchito mnzako monga momwe ine ndinakuchitira iwe?’
Shouldn’t you, also, to have shown mercy to your fellow servant, just as I showed mercy to you?’
34 Ndi mkwiyo, bwana wakeyo anamupereka kwa oyangʼanira ndende kuti amuzuze mpaka atabweza zonse zimene anakongola.
Then his master, in anger, handed him over to the jailers, until he should pay the whole of his debt.
35 “Umu ndi mmene Atate anga akumwamba adzachitira ndi aliyense wa inu ngati simukhululukira mʼbale wanu ndi mtima wonse.”
So, also, will my heavenly Father do to you, unless each one of you forgives his brother or sister from your heart.”
