< Marko 2 >

1 Patapita masiku pangʼono, Yesu atalowanso mu Kaperenawo, zinamveka kuti wabwera ali mʼnyumba.
A few days later Jesus went to Capernaum again, and the people heard that he was at home.
2 Choncho anthu ambiri anasonkhana kotero kuti panalibenso malo, ngakhale ndi pa khomo pomwe, ndipo Iye anawalalikira mawu.
Immediately many were gathered together, so that there was no longer any room, not even at the door, and he was speaking the word to them.
3 Amuna anayi anabwera, atanyamula munthu wofa ziwalo.
Then some people came to him, bringing a paralytic carried by four men.
4 Popeza sakanatha kufika naye kwa Yesu chifukwa cha gulu la anthu, anasasula denga chapamwamba pamene panali Yesu, ndipo atabowoleza, anatsitsa mphasa yomwe munthu wofa ziwaloyo anagonapo.
Since they were not able to come near Jesus because of the crowd, they uncovered the roof where he was. After digging through it, they let down the mat on which the paralytic was lying.
5 Yesu ataona chikhulupiriro chawo, anati kwa wofa ziwaloyo, “Mwana, machimo ako akhululukidwa.”
When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, “Son, yoʋr sins are forgiven yoʋ.”
6 Ndipo ena mwa aphunzitsi amalamulo anakhala pansi pomwepo, namaganiza mʼmitima mwawo kuti,
Now some of the scribes were sitting there and questioning in their hearts:
7 “Nʼchifukwa chiyani munthuyu ayankhula chotere? Iye akuchitira mwano Mulungu! Ndani angakhululukire munthu machimo kupatula Mulungu yekha?”
“Why does this man speak such blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God alone?”
8 Nthawi yomweyo Yesu anadziwa mu mzimu wake kuti izi ndi zimene ankaganiza mʼmitima yawo, ndipo anawawuza kuti, “Chifukwa chiyani mukuganiza zinthu izi?
Immediately Jesus knew in his spirit that they were discussing these questions among themselves, so he said to them, “Why are you questioning these things in your hearts?
9 Chapafupi nʼchiyani; kunena kwa wofa ziwaloyu kuti, ‘Machimo ako akhululukidwa,’ kapena kuti, ‘Imirira, tenga mphasa yako ndipo yenda?’
Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, ‘Yoʋr sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Rise, take up yoʋr mat, and walk’?
10 Koma kuti mudziwe kuti Mwana wa Munthu ali ndi ulamuliro pa dziko lapansi wokhululukira machimo.” Anati kwa wofa ziwaloyo,
But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”—he said to the paralytic—
11 “Ndikuwuza iwe, imirira, tenga mphasa yako ndipo pita kwanu.”
“I say to yoʋ, rise, pick up yoʋr mat, and go to yoʋr house.”
12 Anayimirira, nanyamula mphasa yake natuluka onse akumuona. Izi zinadabwitsa aliyense ndipo anayamika Mulungu nati, “Sitinaonepo zinthu ngati izi!”
So the man immediately rose, picked up his mat, and went out in front of them all, so that they were all amazed and began glorifying God, saying, “We have never seen anything like this!”
13 Yesu anatulukanso napita kumbali ya nyanja. Gulu lalikulu la anthu linabwera kwa Iye, ndipo anayamba kuliphunzitsa.
Once again Jesus went out by the sea. The entire crowd came to him, and he taught them.
14 Pamene ankayendabe, anaona Levi mwana wa Alufeyo atakhala mʼnyumba ya msonkho. Yesu anamuwuza kuti, “Tsate Ine.” Ndipo Levi anayimirira namutsata Iye.
As he was walking along, he saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the tax booth. Jesus said to him, “Follow me,” so Levi rose and followed him.
15 Yesu atakalandira chakudya ku nyumba kwa Levi, amisonkho ambiri ndi “ochimwa” ankadya naye pamodzi ndi ophunzira ake, pakuti anali ambiri amene anamutsatira.
Later, as Jesus was reclining at the table in Levi's house, many tax collectors and sinners reclined with him and his disciples, for there were many who followed him.
16 Pamene aphunzitsi amalamulo a Afarisi anamuona akudya ndi “ochimwa” ndi amisonkho, anafunsa ophunzira ake kuti, “Chifukwa chiyani amadya ndi olandira msonkho ndi ochimwa?”
When the scribes and the Pharisees saw Jesus eating with tax collectors and sinners, they said to his disciples, “Why is he eating and drinking with tax collectors and sinners?”
17 Yesu atamva zimenezi, anawawuza kuti, “Anthu amene ali bwino safuna singʼanga koma odwala. Ine sindinabwere kudzayitana olungama, koma ochimwa.”
When Jesus heard this, he said to them, “It is not the healthy who need a physician, but the sick. I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”
18 Ndipo ophunzira a Yohane ndi a Afarisi amasala kudya. Anthu ena anabwera kwa Yesu namufunsa kuti, “Zitheka bwanji kuti ophunzira a Yohane ndi ophunzira a Afarisi amasala kudya, koma anu satero?”
Now the disciples of John and the disciples of the Pharisees were fasting. So some people came and said to Jesus, “Why is it that the disciples of John and the disciples of the Pharisees fast, but yoʋr disciples do not fast?”
19 Yesu anayankha nati, “Kodi alendo a mkwati angasale kudya bwanji pamene iye ali nawo pamodzi? Iwo sangatero, pamene iye ali nawo pamodzi.
Jesus said to them, “Can the bridegroom's attendants fast while the bridegroom is with them? As long as they have the bridegroom with them they cannot fast.
20 Koma nthawi idzafika pamene mkwati adzachotsedwa pakati pawo, ndipo pa tsiku limenelo adzasala kudya.
But the days are coming when the bridegroom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast in those days.
21 “Palibe amene amasokerera chigamba chatsopano pa chovala chakale. Ngati atatero, chigamba chatsopanocho chidzazomola chovala chakalecho, kukulitsa chibowocho.
“No one sews a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment. For the garment's new patch would pull away from the old cloth, and a worse tear would be made.
22 Ndipo palibe amene amathira vinyo watsopano mʼmatumba akale a vinyo. Ngati atatero, vinyo watsopanoyo adzaphulitsa matumba a vinyo ndipo vinyoyo pamodzi ndi matumbawo zidzawonongeka. Ayi, satero, amathira vinyo watsopano mʼmatumba atsopanonso.”
And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. For the new wine would burst the wineskins; the wine would be spilled, and the wineskins would be ruined. But new wine must be put into new wineskins.”
23 Tsiku lina la Sabata, Yesu amadutsa pakati pa minda ya tirigu, ndipo ophunzira ake amayenda naye limodzi, nayamba kubudula ngala za tiriguyo.
On the Sabbath Jesus was going through the grainfields, and his disciples began to make their way, plucking heads of grain.
24 Afarisi anati kwa Iye, “Taonani, chifukwa chiyani akuchita chosaloledwa ndi lamulo pa Sabata?”
So the Pharisees said to him, “Behold, why are they doing what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath?”
25 Iye anayankha kuti, “Kodi simunawerenge zimene Davide anachita pamene iye ndi anzake anali osowa ndi anamva njala?
He said to them, “Have you never read what David did when he had need and was hungry, he and those who were with him,
26 Pa nthawi ya Abiatara mkulu wa ansembe, iye analowa mʼnyumba ya Mulungu ndi kudya buledi wopatulika amene amaloledwa kuti adye ndi ansembe okha. Ndipo anapereka wina kwa anzake.”
how he entered the house of God, in the time of Abiathar the high priest, and ate the bread of the Presence, which is not lawful for anyone to eat except for the priests, and how he also gave it to those who were with him?”
27 Pamenepo anawawuza kuti, “Sabata linapangidwira munthu, osati munthu kupangidwira Sabata.
Then he said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.
28 Choncho Mwana wa Munthu ali Ambuye ngakhale wa Sabata.”
So the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.”
