Then Deborah and Barak the son of Abinoam sang on that day, saying,
2 “Popeza kuti atsogoleri anatsogoleradi mʼdziko la Israeli; ndipo anthu anadzipereka okha mwa ufulu, tamandani Yehova:
“Because the leaders took the lead in Israel, because the people offered themselves willingly, be blessed, LORD!
3 “Imvani inu mafumu! Tcherani khutu, atsogoleri inu! Ndidzayimba nyimbo, ndidzayimbira Yehova, Mulungu wa Israeli nyimbo yokoma.
“Hear, you kings! Give ear, you princes! I, even I, will sing to the LORD. I will sing praise to the LORD, the God of Israel.
4 “Inu Yehova, pamene munkatuluka mu Seiri, pamene mumayenda kuchokera mʼdziko la Edomu, dziko linagwedezeka, mitambo inasungunuka nigwetsa madzi.
“LORD, when you went out of Seir, when you marched out of the field of Edom, the earth trembled, the sky also dropped. Yes, the clouds dropped water.
5 Mapiri anagwedezeka pamaso pa Yehova, Mulungu wa Israeli.
The mountains quaked at the LORD’s presence, even Sinai at the presence of the LORD, the God of Israel.
6 “Pa nthawi ya Samugara mwana wa Anati, pa nthawi ya Yaeli, misewu inasiyidwa; alendo ankangoyenda mʼtinjira takumbali.
“In the days of Shamgar the son of Anath, in the days of Jael, the highways were unoccupied. The travelers walked through byways.
7 Anthu a ku midzi anathawa; mu Israeli munalibe midzi mpaka pamene iwe Debora unafika; unafika ngati mayi ku Israeli.
The rulers ceased in Israel. They ceased until I, Deborah, arose; Until I arose a mother in Israel.
8 Pamene anasankha milungu ina, nkhondo inabwera ku zipata za mzinda, ndipo chishango kapena mkondo sizinapezeke pakati pa anthu 40,000 mu Israeli.
They chose new gods. Then war was in the gates. Was there a shield or spear seen among forty thousand in Israel?
9 Mtima wanga uli ndi atsogoleri a Israeli, uli ndi anthu amene anadzipereka okha mwaufulu pakati pa anthu. Tamandani Yehova!
My heart is toward the governors of Israel, who offered themselves willingly among the people. Bless the LORD!
10 “Inu okwera pa abulu oyera, okhala pa zishalo, ndi inu oyenda pa msewu, yankhulani.
“Speak, you who ride on white donkeys, you who sit on rich carpets, and you who walk by the way.
11 Ku zitsime, kutali ndi phokoso la a mauta; kumeneko akusimba za kuti Yehova wapambana; akusimba kuti Yehova walipsira anthu ake mu Israeli. “Choncho anthu a Yehova anasonkhana ku zipata za mzinda.
Far from the noise of archers, in the places of drawing water, there they will rehearse the LORD’s righteous acts, the righteous acts of his rule in Israel. “Then the LORD’s people went down to the gates.
12 Anati, ‘Tsogolera ndiwe, Debora, tsogolera; tsogolera ndiwe, tsogolera, imba nyimbo. Iwe Baraki! nyamuka Tsogolera akapolo ako, iwe mwana wa Abinoamu.’
‘Awake, awake, Deborah! Awake, awake, utter a song! Arise, Barak, and lead away your captives, you son of Abinoam.’
13 “Kenaka anthu okhulupirika anatsatira atsogoleri awo; anthu a Yehova anapita kukamenyera Yehova nkhondo kulimbana ndi adani amphamvu.

Those whose root is in Amalek came out of Ephraim, after you, Benjamin, among your peoples. Governors come down out of Machir. Those who handle the marshal’s staff came out of Zebulun.
15 Olamulira a Isakara anali pamodzi ndi Debora; inde, anthu ochokera ku Isakara anatsatanso Baraki, ndipo anathamangira ku chigwa akumutsatira. Koma pakati pa mafuko a Rubeni panali kusinkhasinkha mtima kwambiri osadziwa chenicheni choyenera kuchita.
The princes of Issachar were with Deborah. As was Issachar, so was Barak. They rushed into the valley at his feet. By the watercourses of Reuben, there were great resolves of heart.
16 Chifukwa chiyani munangokhala ku makola a nkhosa nʼkumangomvetsera zitoliro zoyitanira nkhosa? Pakati pa anthu a fuko la Rubeni panali kusinkhasinkha mtima kwambiri osadziwa chenicheni choyenera kuti achite.
Why did you sit among the sheepfolds? To hear the whistling for the flocks? At the watercourses of Reuben, there were great searchings of heart.
17 Agiliyadi anatsala pa tsidya la Yorodani. Ndipo nʼchifukwa chiyani anthu afuko la Dani anatsarira mʼsitima za pa madzi? Aseri anali pa gombe la Nyanja; anangokhala mʼmadooko mwawo.
Gilead lived beyond the Jordan. Why did Dan remain in ships? Asher sat still at the haven of the sea, and lived by his creeks.
18 Azebuloni ndi anthu amene anayika moyo wawo mʼzoopsa. Nawonso anthu a fuko la Nafutali anayika miyoyo yawo pa chiswe pomenya nkhondo pamwamba pa mapiri.
Zebulun was a people that jeopardized their lives to the death; Naphtali also, on the high places of the field.
19 “Mafumu anabwera, anachita nkhondo; mafumu Akanaani anachita nkhondo ku Tanaki pafupi ndi madzi a ku Megido, koma sanatengeko zofunkha zasiliva.
“The kings came and fought, then the kings of Canaan fought at Taanach by the waters of Megiddo. They took no plunder of silver.
20 Ngakhalenso nyenyezi zakumwamba zinachita nkhondo, zinathira nkhondo Sisera, zikuyenda mʼnjira zake.
From the sky the stars fought. From their courses, they fought against Sisera.
21 Mtsinje wa Kisoni unawakokolola, chigumula cha mtsinje wa Kisoni chinawakokolola. Mtima wanga, yenda mwamphamvu, limbika!
The river Kishon swept them away, that ancient river, the river Kishon. My soul, march on with strength.
22 Ndipo ziboda za ngʼombe zazimuna zinachita phokoso lalikulu, akavalo ali pa liwiro, akuthamanga kwambiri.
Then the horse hoofs stamped because of the prancing, the prancing of their strong ones.
23 Mngelo wa Yehova anati ‘Tembererani Merozi.’ ‘Tembererani nzika zake mwaukali, chifukwa sanabwere kudzathandiza Yehova, kulimbana ndi adani ake amphamvu.’
‘Curse Meroz,’ said the LORD’s angel. ‘Curse bitterly its inhabitants, because they didn’t come to help the LORD, to help the LORD against the mighty.’
24 “Akhale wodala kupambana akazi onse, Yaeli mkazi wa Heberi Mkeni; inde mwa akazi onse okhala mʼdziko, akhale wodala iyeyu.
“Jael shall be blessed above women, the wife of Heber the Kenite; blessed shall she be above women in the tent.
25 Munthu uja anapempha madzi akumwa, koma iye anamupatsa mkaka; anamupatsa chambiko mʼchikho cha wolemekezeka.
He asked for water. She gave him milk. She brought him butter in a lordly dish.
26 Anatenga chikhomo cha tenti mʼdzanja lake, anatenganso nyundo ndi dzanja lake lamanja. Ndipo anakhoma nacho Sisera, anamuphwanya mutu wake, ndi kumubowola mu litsipa mwake.
She put her hand to the tent peg, and her right hand to the workmen’s hammer. With the hammer she struck Sisera. She struck through his head. Yes, she pierced and struck through his temples.
27 Anathifukira ku mapazi a mkaziyo nagwa, anagwa; iye anagona pamenepo. Anagwera pa mapazi a mkaziyo, iye anagwa; pamene anagwera, pamenepo anaferapo.
At her feet he bowed, he fell, he lay. At her feet he bowed, he fell. Where he bowed, there he fell down dead.
28 “Amayi ake a Sisera anasuzumira pa zenera; nafuwula mokweza kuti, ‘Nʼchifukwa chiyani galeta lake lachedwa kufika? Nʼchifukwa chiyani phokoso la magaleta ake silikumveka?’
“Through the window she looked out, and cried: Sisera’s mother looked through the lattice. ‘Why is his chariot so long in coming? Why do the wheels of his chariots wait?’
29 Amayi ake anzeru kwambiri anamuyankha, ndithudi, mwiniwake anadziyankha yekha kuti,
Her wise ladies answered her, Yes, she returned answer to herself,
30 ‘Kodi iwo sakufunafuna zofunkha kuti agawane; akugawana wankhondo aliyense mtsikana mmodzi kapena awiri. Sisera akumupatsa zofunkha: zovala zonyikidwa mu utoto, zoti ndizivala mʼkhosi zovala zopeta zonyika mu utoto, ndi zopeta zomavala mʼkhosi?’
‘Have they not found, have they not divided the plunder? A lady, two ladies to every man; to Sisera a plunder of dyed garments, a plunder of dyed garments embroidered, of dyed garments embroidered on both sides, on the necks of the plunder?’
31 “Choncho Yehova! adani anu onse awonongeke, koma iwo amene amakukondani inu akhale ngati dzuwa pamene lituluka ndi mphamvu zake.” Ndipo dziko linakhala pa mtendere zaka makumi anayi.
“So let all your enemies perish, LORD, but let those who love him be as the sun when it rises in its strength.” Then the land had rest forty years.
