1 Chigawo cha dzikolo chimene mabanja a fuko la Yuda analandira chinafika ku malire ndi Edomu mpaka ku chipululu cha Zini kummwera kwenikweni.

And the lot for the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families was unto the border of Edom, even to the wilderness of Zin southward, at the uttermost part of the south.

2 Malire awo a kummwera anayambira kummwera kwenikweni kwa Nyanja ya Mchere,

And their south border was from the uttermost part of the Salt Sea, from the bay that looked southward.

3 kudutsa cha kummwera ku Akirabimu, nʼkupitirira mpaka ku Zini. Kuchokera pamenepo nʼkumapita cha kummwera kwa Kadesi Barinea, kudutsa Hezironi mpaka ku Adari ndi kutembenuka mpaka ku Karika.

And it went out southward of the ascent of Akrabbim, and passed along to Zin, and went up by the south of Kadesh-barnea, and passed along by Hezron, and went up to Addar, and turned about to Karka.

4 Anapitirira mpaka ku Azimoni motsata mtsinje umene uli malire a Igupto mpaka ku nyanja. Awa ndiwo malire awo a kummwera.

And it passed along to Azmon, and went out at the Brook of Egypt; and the goings out of the border were at the sea; this shall be your south border.

5 Malire a kummawa anali Nyanja Yakufa mpaka kumene Yorodani amathira mu Nyanja ya Mchere. Malire a kumpoto anayambira kumene Yorodani amathirira nyanjayo,

And the east border was the Salt Sea, even unto the end of the Jordan. And the border of the north side was from the bay of the sea at the end of the Jordan.

6 napitirira mpaka ku Beti-Hogila ndi kupitirira kumpoto mpaka ku Beti-Araba. Anapitirira mpaka anakafika ku Mwala wa Bohani.

And the border went up to Beth-hoglah, and passed along by the north of Beth-arabah; and the border went up to the Stone of Bohan the son of Reuben.

7 Ndipo malirewo anachokeranso ku chigwa cha Akori mpaka ku Debri, kuchokera ku chigwa cha Akori ndi kutembenukira kumpoto ku Giligala, dera limene linayangʼanana ndi msewu wa Adumimu kummwera kwa chigwa. Anapitirira mpaka ku madzi a ku Eni Semesi ndi kutulukira ku Eni Rogeli.

And the border went up to Debir from the valley of Achor, and so northward, looking toward Gilgal, that is over against the ascent of Adummim, which is on the south side of the brook; and the border passed along to the waters of En-shemesh, and the goings out thereof were at En-rogel.

8 Ndipo anapitirira mpaka ku chigwa cha Hinomu mbali ya kummwera kwa mzinda wa Ayebusi (mzinda wa Yerusalemu). Kuchokera kumeneko anakwera mpaka pamwamba pa phiri kumadzulo kwa chigwa cha Hinomu cha kumpoto kwenikweni kwa chigwa cha Refaimu.

And the border went up by the Valley of the son of Hinnom unto the side of the Jebusite southward — the same is Jerusalem — and the border went up to the top of the mountain that lieth before the Valley of Hinnom westward, which is at the uttermost part of the vale of Rephaim northward.

9 Ndipo anachokeranso pamwamba pa phiri, kukafika mpaka ku akasupe a ku Nepitowa, nadzatulukira ku mizinda ya phiri la Efroni, ndi kutsikira ku Baalahi (ndiye Kiriati Yearimu).

And the border was drawn from the top of the mountain unto the fountain of the waters of Nephtoah, and went out to the cities of mount Ephron; and the border was drawn to Baalah — the same is Kiriath-jearim.

10 Kuchokera kumeneko anazungulira cha kumadzulo ku Baalahi mpaka ku phiri la Seiri. Anapitirira cha kumpoto kutsata phiri la Yearimu (lomwe ndi Kesaloni). Anapitirirabe kutsika ku Beti Semesi ndi kuwolokera ku Timna.

And the border turned about from Baalah westward unto mount Seir, and passed along unto the side of mount Jearim on the north — the same is Chesalon — and went down to Beth-shemesh, and passed along by Timnah.

11 Malirewo anapitirira kumatsitso a mapiri chakumpoto kwa Ekroni, ndi kukhotera ku Sikeroni. Malirewo anadutsa phiri la Baalahi ndi kufika ku Yabineeli. Malirewo anathera ku nyanja.

And the border went out unto the side of Ekron northward; and the border was drawn to Shikkeron, and passed along to mount Baalah, and went out at Jabneel; and the goings out of the border were at the sea.

12 Malire a mbali ya kumadzulo anali Nyanja Yayikulu. Awa ndi malire ozungulira malo amene anapatsidwa kwa mabanja a fuko la Yuda.

And as for the west border, the Great Sea was the border thereof. This is the border of the children of Judah round about according to their families.

13 Potsata lamulo la Yehova, Yoswa anapereka kwa Kalebe mwana wa Yefune gawo lina la dziko la Yuda dera la Kiriati Ariba, limene ndi Hebroni. (Ariba anali gogo wa Aanaki).

And unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a portion among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of the LORD to Joshua, even Kiriath-arba, which Arba was the father of Anak — the same is Hebron.

14 Kuchokera ku Hebroni, Kalebe anathamangitsamo mafuko a Aanaki awa: Sesai, Ahimani ndi Talimai, zidzukulu za Aanaki.

And Caleb drove out thence the three sons of Anak, Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai, the children of Anak.

15 Kuchokera kumeneko, Kalebe anakathira nkhondo anthu amene ankakhala ku Debri (mzindawu poyamba unkatchedwa Kiriati Seferi).

And he went up thence against the inhabitants of Debir — now the name of Debir beforetime was Kiriath-sepher.

16 Tsono Kalebe anati, “Munthu amene angathire nkhondo mzinda wa Kiriati Seferi ndi kuwulanda, ndidzamupatsa mwana wanga Akisa kuti akhale mkazi wake.”

And Caleb said: 'He that smiteth Kiriath-sepher, and taketh it, to him will I give Achsah my daughter to wife.'

17 Otanieli, mwana wa mʼbale wa Kalebe, Kenazi, ndiye anawulanda. Choncho Kalebe anamupatsa mwana wake Akisa kuti akhale mkazi wake.

And Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it; and he gave him Achsah his daughter to wife.

18 Tsiku lina atafika Akisayo, Otanieli anamuwumiriza mkazi wakeyo kuti apemphe munda kwa Kalebe abambo ake. Pamene Akisa anatsika pa bulu wake, Kalebe anamufunsa kuti, “Kodi ukufuna ndikuchitire chiyani.”

And it came to pass, when she came unto him, that she persuaded him to ask of her father a field; and she alighted from off her ass; and Caleb said unto her: 'What wouldest thou?'

19 Iye anayankha kuti “Mundikomere mtima. Popeza mwandipatsa ku Negevi, kumalo kumene kulibe madzi, mundipatsenso akasupe amadzi.” Choncho Kalebe anamupatsa akasupe a kumtunda ndi a kumunsi.

And she said: 'Give me a blessing; for that thou hast set me in the Southland, give me therefore springs of water.' And he gave her the Upper Springs and the Nether Springs.

20 Dziko limene mabanja a fuko la Yuda analandira ngati cholowa chawo ndi ili:

This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families.

21 Mizinda yakummwera kwenikweni kwa fuko la Yuda yoyandikana ndi malire a Edomu anali: Kabizeeli, Ederi, Yaguri

And the cities at the uttermost part of the tribe of the children of Judah toward the border of Edom in the South were Kabzeel, and Eder, and Jagur;

22 Kina, Dimona, Adada

and Kinah, and Dimonah, and Adadah;

23 Kedesi, Hazori, Itinani

and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Ithnan;

24 Zifi, Telemu, Bealoti,

Ziph, and Telem, and Bealoth;

25 Hazori-Hadata, Keriyoti Hezironi (ndiye kuti Hazori)

and Hazor, and Hadattah, and Kerioth, and Hezron — the same is Hazor;

26 Amamu, Sema, Molada

Amam, and Shema, and Moladah;

27 Hazari-Gada, Hesimoni, Beti-Peleti

and Hazar-gaddah, and Heshmon, and Beth-pelet;

28 Hazari-Suwali, Beeriseba, Biziotiya,

and Hazar-shual, and Beer-sheba, and Biziothiah;

29 Baalahi, Iyimu, Ezemu

Baalah, and Iim, and Ezem;

30 Elitoladi, Kesili, Horima

and Eltolad, and Chesil, and Hormah;

31 Zikilagi, Madimena, Sanisana,

and Ziklag, and Madmannah, and Sansannah;

32 Lebaoti, Silihimu, Aini ndi Rimoni. Mizinda yonse inalipo 29 pamodzi ndi midzi yake yozungulira.

and Lebaoth, and Shilhim, and Ain, and Rimmon; all the cities are twenty and nine, with their villages.

33 Mizinda ya ku chigwa cha kumadzulo ndi iyi: Esitaoli, Zora, Asina

In the Lowland: Eshtaol, and Zorah, and Ashnah;

34 Zanowa, Eni-Ganimu, Tapuwa, Enamu,

and Zanoah, and En-gannim, Tappuah, and Enam;

35 Yarimuti, Adulamu, Soko, Azeka,

Jarmuth, and Adullam, Socoh, and Azekah;

36 Saaraimu, Aditaimu, ndi Gederi (kapena Gederotaimu). Mizinda yonse inalipo 14 pamodzi ndi midzi yake yozungulira.

and Shaaraim, and Adithaim, and Gederah, with Gederothaim; fourteen cities with their villages.

37 Mizinda ina inali iyi: Zenani, Hadasa, Migidali-Gadi,

Zenan, and Hadashah, and Migdal-gad;

38 Dileani, Mizipa, Yokiteeli,

and Dilan, and Mizpeh, and Joktheel;

39 Lakisi, Bozikati, Egiloni,

Lachish, and Bozkath, and Eglon;

40 Kaboni, Lahimasi, Kitilisi,

and Cabbon, and Lahmas, and Chithlish;

41 Gederoti, Beti-Dagoni, Naama ndi Makeda. Mizinda yonse pamodzi inalipo 16 pamodzi ndi midzi yake yozungulira.

and Gederoth, Beth-dagon, and Naamah, and Makkedah; sixteen cities with their villages.

42 Mizinda ina inali iyi: Libina, Eteri, Asani,

Libnah, and Ether, and Ashan;

43 Ifita, Asina, Nezibu,

and Iphtah, and Ashnah, and Nezib;

44 Keila, Akizibu ndi Maresa, mizinda isanu ndi inayi pamodzi ndi midzi yake.

and Keilah, and Achzib, and Mareshah; nine cities with their villages.

45 Panalinso Ekroni pamodzi ndi midzi yake;

Ekron, with its towns and its villages;

46 komanso yonse imene inali mʼmbali mwa Asidodi ndi midzi yake kuyambira ku Ekroni mpaka ku Nyanja Yayikulu.

from Ekron even unto the sea, all that were by the side of Ashdod, with their villages.

47 Panalinso mizinda ya Asidodi ndi Gaza pamodzi ndi midzi yawo. Malire ake anafika ku mtsinje wa Igupto mpaka ku Nyanja Yayikulu.

Ashdod, its towns and its villages; Gaza, its towns and its villages; unto the Brook of Egypt, the Great Sea being the border thereof.

48 Mizinda ya kumapiri inali: Samiri, Yatiri, Soko,

And in the hill-country: Shamir, and Jattir, and Socoh;

49 Dana, Kiriati-Sana, (ndiye kuti Debri)

and Dannah, and Kiriath-sannah — the same is Debir;

50 Anabu, Esitemo, Animu,

and Anab, and Eshtemoh, and Anim;

51 Goseni, Holoni ndi Gilo. Mizinda yonse pamodzi inali khumi ndi umodzi pamodzi ndi midzi yake.

and Goshen, and Holon, and Giloh; eleven cities with their villages.

52 Analandiranso mizinda iyi: Arabu, Duma, Esani,

Arab, and Rumah, and Eshan;

53 Yanumu, Beti-Tapuwa, Afeki

and Janum, and Beth-tappuah, and Aphekah;

54 Humita, Kiriati-Ariba (ndiye kuti Hebroni) ndi Ziori, mizinda isanu ndi inayi pamodzi ndi midzi yake.

and Humtah, and Kiriath-arba — the same is Hebron, and Zior; nine cities with their villages.

55 Panalinso Maoni, Karimeli, Zifi, Yuta

Maon, Carmel, and Ziph, and Juttah;

56 Yezireeli, Yokideamu, Zanowa,

and Jezreel, and Jokdeam, and Zanoah;

57 Kaini, Gibeya ndi Timna, mizinda khumi ndi midzi yake.

Kain, Gibeah, and Timnah; ten cities with their villages.

58 Mizinda ina inali: Halihuli, Beti Zuri, Gedori,

Halhul, Beth-zur, and Gedor;

59 Maarati, Beti-Anoti ndi Elitekoni, mizinda isanu ndi umodzi pamodzi ndi midzi yake

and Maarath, and Beth-anoth, and Eltekon; six cities with their villages.

60 Panalinso Kiriati Baala (ndiye kuti Kiriati Yearimu) ndi Raba; mizinda iwiri pamodzi ndi midzi yake.

Kiriath-baal — the same is Kiriath-jearim, and Rabbah; two cities with their villages.

61 Mizinda ya ku chipululu inali iyi: Beti-Araba, Midini, Sekaka,

In the wilderness: Beth-arabah, Middin, and Secacah;

62 Nibisani, Mzinda wa Mchere ndi Eni Gedi, mizinda isanu ndi umodzi pamodzi ndi midzi yake.

and Nibshan, and the City of Salt, and En-gedi; six cities with their villages.

63 Koma Yuda sanathe kuthamangitsa Ayebusi amene amakhala ku Yerusalemu, ndipo mpaka lero Ayebusi akukhala komweko pamodzi ndi Ayudawo.

And as for the Jebusites, the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the children of Judah could not drive them out; but the Jebusites dwelt with the children of Judah at Jerusalem, unto this day.
