Yoswa 11
1 Yabini, mfumu ya Hazori, inamva zimene zinachitikazi. Tsono inatumiza uthenga kwa Yobabu mfumu ya Madoni, ndiponso kwa mafumu a ku Simironi ndi Akisafu.
And it comes to pass, when Jabin king of Hazor hears, that he sends to Jobab king of Madon, and to the king of Shimron, and to the king of Achshaph,
2 Inatumizanso uthenga kwa mafumu a kumpoto, kumapiri, ndi mʼchigwa cha Yorodani kummwera kwa nyanja ya Kinereti, ndiponso kumadzulo mʼmbali mwa nyanja pafupi ndi Dori.
and to the kings who [are] on the north in the hill-country, and in the plain south of Chinneroth, and in the low country, and in the elevations of Dor, on the west,
3 Inatumizanso uthenga kwa Akanaani amene ankakhala kummawa ndi kumadzulo kwa Yorodani. Uthenga unapitanso kwa Aamori, Ahiti, Aperezi ndi Ayebusi amene amakhala mʼdziko la ku mapiri ndiponso kwa Ahivi amene ankakhala mʼmunsi mwa phiri la Herimoni ku chigwa cha Mizipa.
[to] the Canaanite on the east, and on the west, and the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Jebusite in the hill-country, and the Hivite under Hermon, in the land of Mizpeh—
4 Mafumuwo anabwera pamodzi ndi ankhondo awo onse. Gulu la ankhondo linali lalikulu ngati mchenga wa mʼmbali mwa nyanja. Analinso ndi akavalo ndi magaleta ambiri.
and they go out, they and all their camps with them, a people numerous, as the sand which [is] on the seashore for multitude, and [with] very many horse and charioteer;
5 Mafumu onsewa anasonkhana pamodzi ndipo anamanga misasa yawo ku mtsinje wa Meromu, kuti amenyane ndi Israeli.
and all these kings are met together, and they come and encamp together at the waters of Merom, to fight with Israel.
6 Yehova anati kwa Yoswa, “Usawaope chifukwa mawa nthawi ngati yomwe ino ndidzawapereka kuti muwaphe. Akavalo awo muwadule matsinde ndipo magaleta awo muwatenthe ndi moto.”
And YHWH says to Joshua, “Do not be afraid of their presence, for about this time tomorrow I am giving all of them slain before Israel; hamstring their horses, and burn their chariots with fire.”
7 Kotero Yoswa pamodzi ndi gulu lonse la nkhondo anafika kwa adani awo aja ku mtsinje wa Meromu modzidzimutsa ndi kuwathira nkhondo.
And Joshua comes, and all the people of war with him, against them by the waters of Merom, and they suddenly fall on them;
8 Yehova anawapereka mʼmanja mwa Israeli mwakuti anawagonjetseratu ndi kuwapirikitsa njira yonse mpaka ku Sidoni Wamkulu ndi ku Misirefoti Maimu, ndiponso kummawa ku chigwa cha Mizipa. Onse anaphedwa popanda wopulumuka.
and YHWH gives them into the hand of Israel, and they strike them and pursue them to the great Sidon, and to Misrephoth-Maim, and to the Valley of Mizpeh eastward, and they strike them, until he has not left a remnant to them;
9 Yoswa anawachita zimene Yehova analamula. Iye anadula matsinde a akavalo awo ndi kutentha magaleta awo.
and Joshua does to them as YHWH commanded to him; he has hamstrung their horses, and burned their chariots with fire.
10 Pambuyo pake Yoswa anabwera nalanda mzinda wa Hazori ndi kupha mfumu yake. (Nthawi imeneyo mzinda wa Hazori unali wopambana mizinda ina yonse).
And Joshua turns back at that time, and captures Hazor, and he has struck its king by the sword; for Hazor [was] formerly head of all these kingdoms;
11 Anapha aliyense wa mu mzindamo popanda wotsala wamoyo, ndipo mzinda wa Hazori anawutentha ndi moto.
and they strike every person who [is] in it by the mouth of the sword; he has devoted—he has not left anyone breathing, and he has burned Hazor with fire;
12 Yoswa analanda mizinda yonse ndi mafumu ake. Anthu onse anaphedwa ndi lupanga monga momwe analamulira Mose, mtumiki wa Yehova.
and all the cities of these kings, and all their kings, Joshua has captured, and he strikes them by the mouth of the sword; he devoted them, as Moses, servant of YHWH, commanded.
13 Israeli sanatenthe mizinda yomangidwa pa zitunda, kupatula mzinda wa Hazori, umene Yoswa anawutentha.
Only, all the cities which are standing by their hill, Israel has not burned them—except Joshua has burned Hazor, only;
14 Aisraeli anatenga zinthu zonse za mʼmizindayi pamodzi ndi ziweto kuti zikhale zawo, koma anapha anthu onse ndi lupanga osasiyako ndi mmodzi yemwe wamoyo.
and all the spoil of these cities, and the livestock, the sons of Israel have spoiled for themselves; only, they have struck every man by the mouth of the sword, until their destroying them; they have not left anyone breathing.
15 Monga momwe Yehova analamulira mtumiki wake Mose, nayenso Mose analamulira Yoswa ndipo Yoswa anachita chilichonse chimene Yehova analamulira Mose.
As YHWH commanded His servant Moses, so Moses commanded Joshua, and so Joshua has done; he has not turned aside a thing of all that YHWH commanded Moses.
16 Kotero Yoswa analanda dziko lonse: dziko la ku mapiri, dera lonse la Negevi, chigawo chonse cha Goseni, ndi chigwa chake chonse, chigwa cha Yorodani, dziko lonse la lamapiri la Israeli pamodzi ndi chigwa chake chomwe.
And Joshua takes all this land: the hill-country, and all the south, and all the land of Goshen, and the low country, and the plain, even the hill-country of Israel and its low lands,
17 Dziko lolandidwalo linayambira ku phiri la Halaki limene linali ku Seiri mpaka ku Baala-Gadi mʼchigwa cha Lebanoni, kumunsi kwa phiri la Herimoni. Yoswa anagwira ndi kupha mafumu a dziko lonselo
from the Mount of Halak, which is going up [to] Seir, and to Ba‘al-Gad, in the Valley of Lebanon, under Mount Hermon; and he has captured all their kings, and he strikes them, and puts them to death.
18 atachita nawo nkhondo kwa nthawi yayitali.
Joshua has made war with all these kings [for] many days;
19 Palibe ngakhale ndi mfumu imodzi yomwe imene inachita mgwirizano wa mtendere ndi Aisraeli kupatula Ahivi okhala ku Gibiyoni. Koma mizinda ina yonse anachita kuyigonjetsa pa nkhondo.
there has not been a city which made peace with the sons of Israel except the Hivite, inhabitants of Gibeon; they have taken the whole in battle;
20 Yehova anali atawumitsa mitima yawo kuti alimbane ndi Aisraeli kuti aphedwe popanda kuchitiridwa chifundo. Izi ndi zimene Yehova analamula Mose kuti zichitidwe.
for it has been from YHWH to strengthen their heart, to meet in battle with Israel, in order to devote them, so that they have no grace, but in order to destroy them, as YHWH commanded Moses.
21 Pa nthawi imeneyi Yoswa anapita kukawononga Aanaki okhala mʼdziko lija la ku mapiri ku Hebroni, Debri, Anabu komanso madera onse a ku mapiri a Yuda ndi Israeli. Yoswa anawawononga onse pamodzi ndi mizinda yawo.
And Joshua comes at that time, and cuts off the Anakim from the hill-country, from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab, and from all the hill-country of Judah, and from all the hill-country of Israel; Joshua has devoted them with their cities.
22 Palibe ndi mmodzi yemwe amene anatsalako mʼdziko lonse la Israeli; komabe ku Gaza, ku Gati ndi Asidodi kokha ndi kumene anatsalako pangʼono.
There has not been Anakim left in the land of the sons of Israel; only in Gaza, in Gath, and in Ashdod, were they left.
23 Choncho Yoswa anagonjetsa dziko lonse monga momwe Yehova analamulira Mose. Tsono Yoswa analipereka kwa Aisraeli kuti likhale lawo, fuko lililonse gawo lake. Anthu onse anapumula, osamenyanso nkhondo.
And Joshua takes the whole of the land, according to all that YHWH has spoken to Moses, and Joshua gives it for an inheritance to Israel according to their divisions, by their tribes; and the land has rest from war.
