Yona 2
1 Yona ali mʼmimba mwa chinsomba chija anapemphera kwa Yehova Mulungu wake.
Then prayed Jonah unto the Lord his God out of the belly of the fish.
2 Iye anati: “Pamene ndinali mʼmavuto anga ndinayitana Yehova, ndipo Iye anandiyankha. Ndili ku dziko la anthu akufa ndinapempha thandizo, ndipo Inu munamva kulira kwanga. (Sheol h7585)
And he said, I called from the midst of my distress unto the Lord, and he hath answered me: out of the depth of the grave have I cried, and thou hast heard my voice. (Sheol h7585)
3 Munandiponya mʼnyanja yozama, mʼkati mwenimweni mwa nyanja, ndipo madzi oyenda anandizungulira; mafunde anu onse ndi mkokomo wake zinandimiza.
For thou hast cast me into the deep, in the heart of the seas; and the stream compasseth me about: all thy billows and thy waves have passed over me.
4 Ndinati, ‘Ine ndachotsedwa pamaso panu; komabe ndidzayangʼananso ku Nyumba yanu yopatulika.’
And I thought indeed, I am driven out from before thy eyes: yet I again shall look toward thy holy temple.
5 Madzi wondimiza anandichititsa mantha, nyanja yozama inandizungulira; udzu wa mʼmadzi zinakuta mutu wanga.
The waters surrounded me, to the peril of my life; the deep compassed me about: sea-weeds were bound about my head.
6 Ndinatsikira kunsi ndithu, mʼtsinde mwa mapiri; mipiringidzo ya dziko inanditsekereza kosatha. Koma Inu munatulutsa moyo wanga mʼmandamo, Inu Yehova Mulungu wanga.
To the bottoms of the mountains did I go down; the earth [closed] her bars about me for ever: when thou broughtest up my life from the pit, O Lord my God!
7 “Pamene moyo wanga umachoka mwa ine, ine ndinakumbukira Inu Yehova, ndipo pemphero langa linafika kwa inu, ku Nyumba yanu yopatulika.
When my soul fainted within me I remembered the Lord: and my prayer came unto thee, unto thy holy temple.
8 “Iwo amene amagwiritsitsa mafano achabechabe amataya chisomo chawo.
They that guard false vanities forsake [the source of] their kindness.
9 Koma ine ndidzapereka kwa Inu nsembe ndikuyimba nyimbo yamayamiko. Chimene ndinalonjeza ndidzachikwaniritsa. Chipulumutso chimachokera kwa Yehova.”
But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; that which I have vowed will I pay; [for] help is with the Lord.
10 Ndipo Yehova analamula chinsomba chija, ndipo chinakamusanza Yonayo mʼmbali mwa nyanja.
And the Lord commanded the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.
