< Yohane 20 >

1 Mmamawa tsiku loyamba la sabata, kukanali kamdimabe, Mariya wa ku Magadala anapita ku manda ndipo anaona kuti mwala unali utachotsedwa pa khomo la manda.
On the first day of the week, early in the morning, while it was still dark, Mary of Magdala went to the tomb, and saw that the stone had been removed.
2 Choncho anabwerera akuthamanga kwa Simoni Petro ndi wophunzira winayo, amene Yesu anamukonda, ndipo anati, “Iwo amuchotsa Ambuye mʼmanda, ndipo ife sitikudziwa kumene iwo amuyika Iye!”
So she came running to Simon Peter, and to that other disciple who was Jesus’ friend, and said to them, “They have taken away the Master out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid him!”
3 Choncho Petro ndi wophunzira winayo ananyamuka kupita ku manda.
So, Peter started off with that other disciple, and they went to the tomb.
4 Onse awiri anathamanga pamodzi koma wophunzira winayo anamupitirira Petro, nafika ku manda moyambirira.
The two began running together; but the other disciple ran faster than Peter, and reached the tomb first.
5 Ndipo mmene anawerama nasuzumira mʼkati mwa manda anaona nsalu zili potero koma sanalowemo.
Stooping down, he saw the linen wrappings lying there, but did not go in.
6 Kenaka Simoni Petro, amene anali pambuyo pake, anafika ndi kulowa mʼmanda. Iye anaona nsaluzo zili pamenepo,
Presently Simon Peter came following behind him, and went into the tomb; and he looked at the linen wrappings lying there,
7 pamodzinso ndi nsalu imene anakulungira nayo mutu wa Yesu. Nsaluyi inali yopindidwa pa yokha yosiyanitsidwa ndi inayo.
and the cloth which had been on Jesus’ head, not lying with the wrappings, but rolled up on one side, separately.
8 Pomaliza wophunzira winayo, amene anafika ku manda moyambirira, analowanso mʼkati, iye anaona ndi kukhulupirira.
Then the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, went inside too, and he saw for himself and was convinced.
9 (Iwo sanazindikire kuchokera mʼmalemba kuti Yesu anayanera kuuka kuchokera kwa akufa).
For they did not then understand the passage of scripture which says that Jesus must rise again from the dead.
10 Kenaka ophunzira anabwerera ku nyumba zawo,
The disciples then returned to their companions.
11 koma Mariya anayima kunja kwa manda akulira. Pamene akulira, anawerama ndi kusuzumira mʼmanda
Meanwhile Mary was standing close outside the tomb, weeping. Still weeping, she leant forward into the tomb,
12 ndipo anaona angelo awiri atavala zoyera, atakhala pamene panali mtembo wa Yesu, mmodzi kumutu ndi wina kumapazi.
and perceived two angels clothed in white sitting there, where the body of Jesus had been lying, one where the head and the other where the feet had been.
13 Iwo anamufunsa iye kuti, “Amayi, nʼchifukwa chiyani mukulira?” Iye anati, “Amuchotsa Mbuye wanga, ndipo ine sindikudziwa kumene iwo amuyika.”
“Why are you weeping?” asked the angels. “They have taken my Master away,” she answered, “and I do not know where they have laid him.”
14 Atanena izi, iye anatembenuka ndipo anaona Yesu atayima potero koma iye sanazindikire kuti anali Yesu.
After saying this, she turned around, and looked at Jesus standing there, but she did not know that it was Jesus.
15 Iye anati, “Amayi, mukulira chifukwa chiyani? Ndani amene mukumufunafuna?” Poganiza kuti anali mwini munda, iye anati, “Bwana, ngati inu mwamuchotsa, ndiwuzeni kumene mwamuyika, ndipo ine ndikamutenga.”
“Why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?” he asked. Supposing him to be the gardener, Mary answered, “If it was you, Sir, who carried him away, tell me where you have laid him, and I will take him away myself.”
16 Yesu anati kwa iye, “Mariya.” Anatembenukira kwa Iye nafuwula mu Chiaramaiki kuti, “Raboni!” (kutanthauza Mphunzitsi).
“Mary!” said Jesus. She turned around, and exclaimed in Hebrew, “Rabboni!” (or, as we should say, ‘teacher’).
17 Yesu anati, “Usandigwire Ine, pakuti sindinapite kwa Atate. Mʼmalo mwake pita kwa abale anga ndikukawawuza kuti, ndikupita kwa Atate ndi kwa Atate anunso, kwa Mulungu wanga ndi Mulungu wanunso.”
“Do not hold me,” Jesus said, “for I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to my brothers, and tell them that I am ascending to him who is my Father and their Father, my God and their God.”
18 Mariya wa ku Magadala anapita kwa ophunzira ndi uthenga wakuti, “Ndamuona Ambuye!” Iye anawawuza iwo kuti Yesu ananena zinthu izi kwa iye.
Mary of Magdala went and told the disciples that she had seen the Master, and that he had said this to her.
19 Madzulo a tsiku limenelo limene linali loyamba la Sabata ophunzira ake ali pamodzi, atatseka ndi kukhoma zitseko chifukwa choopa Ayuda, Yesu anabwera ndi kuyima pakati pawo nati, “Mtendere ukhale nanu!”
In the evening of the same day – the first day of the week – after the doors of the room, in which the disciples were, had been shut because they were afraid of the religious authorities, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you”;
20 Iye atatha kunena izi, anawaonetsa manja ake ndi mʼnthiti mwake. Ophunzira anasangalala kwambiri pamene anaona Ambuye.
after which he showed them his hands and his side. The disciples were filled with joy when they saw the Master.
21 Yesu anatinso, “Mtendere ukhale nanu! Monga Atate anandituma Ine, Inenso ndikukutumani.”
Again Jesus said to them, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me as his messenger, so I am sending you.”
22 Ndi mawu amenewo Iye anawapumira ndipo anati, “Landirani Mzimu Woyera.
After saying this, he breathed on them, and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit;
23 Ngati mukhululukira aliyense machimo ake, iwo akhululukidwa; ngati simuwakhululukira, iwo sanakhululukidwe.”
if you remit anyone’s sins, they have been remitted; and, if you retain them, they have been retained.”
24 Koma Tomasi (otchedwa Didimo), mmodzi wa khumi ndi awiriwo, sanali ndi ophunzira pamene Yesu anabwera.
But Thomas, one of the Twelve, called ‘The Twin,’ was not with them when Jesus came;
25 Ophunzira enawo atamuwuza Tomasi kuti iwo anaona Ambuye, iye ananenetsa kuti, “Pokhapokha nditaona zizindikiro za misomali mʼmanja ake ndi kuyikamo chala changa mʼmene munali misomali ndi kukhudza dzanja langa mʼnthiti mwake, ine sindidzakhulupirira.”
so the rest of the disciples said to him, “We have seen the Master!” “Unless I see the marks of the nails in his hands,” he exclaimed, “and put my finger into the marks, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe it.”
26 Patapita sabata, ophunzira ake analinso mʼnyumbamo ndipo Tomasi anali nawo. Ngakhale makomo anali otsekedwa, Yesu anabwera nayima pakati pawo, ndipo anati, “Mtendere ukhale nanu!”
A week later the disciples were again in the house, and Thomas was with them. After the doors had been shut, Jesus came and stood among them, and said, “Peace be with you.”
27 Kenaka anati kwa Tomasi, “Ika chala chako apa; ona manja anga. Tambasula dzanja lako ndi kukhudza mʼnthiti mwanga. Leka kukayika, khulupirira.”
Then he said to Thomas, “Place your finger here, and look at my hands; and place your hand here, and put it into my side; and do not refuse to believe, but believe.”
28 Tomasi anati kwa Iye, “Ambuye wanga ndi Mulungu wanga!”
And Thomas exclaimed, “My Master, and my God!”
29 Kenaka Yesu anamuwuza kuti, “Kodi wakhulupirira chifukwa wandiona Ine? Ndi odala amene amakhulupirira ngakhale asanaone.”
“Is it because you have seen me that you have believed?” said Jesus. “Blessed are they who have not seen, and yet have believed!”
30 Yesu anachita zodabwitsa zambiri pamaso pa ophunzira ake zimene sizinalembedwe mʼbuku lino.
There were many other signs of his mission that Jesus gave in presence of the disciples, which are not recorded in this book;
31 Koma izi zalembedwa kuti mukhulupirire kuti Yesu ndi Khristu, Mwana wa Mulungu, ndi kuti mukakhulupirira mukhale nawo moyo mʼdzina lake.
but these have been recorded so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God – and that, through your belief in his name, you may have life.
