< Yohane 2 >
1 Pa tsiku lachitatu munali ukwati mu Kana wa ku Galileya. Amayi ake a Yesu anali komweko,
Two days later there was a wedding at Cana in Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there,
2 ndipo Yesu ndi ophunzira ake anayitanidwanso ku ukwatiwo.
and Jesus also was invited and His disciples.
3 Vinyo atatha, amayi a Yesu anati kwa Iye, “Wawathera vinyo.”
Now the wine ran short; whereupon the mother of Jesus said to Him, "They have no wine."
4 Yesu anayankha kuti, “Amayi, chifukwa chiyani mukundiwuza Ine? Nthawi yanga sinakwane.”
"Leave the matter in my hands," He replied; "the time for me to act has not yet come."
5 Amayi ake anati kwa antchito, “Inu muchite chilichonse chimene akuwuzeni.”
His mother said to the attendants, "Whatever he tells you to do, do it."
6 Pamenepo panali mitsuko yamiyala yothiramo madzi isanu ndi umodzi, imene Ayuda amagwiritsa ntchito pa mwambo wodziyeretsa. Uliwonse unali ndi malita 100 kapena kupitirirapo.
Now there were six stone jars standing there (in accordance with the Jewish regulations for purification), each large enough to hold twenty gallons or more.
7 Yesu anati kwa antchitowo, “Dzazani madzi mʼmitsukoyi,” ndipo iwo anadzaza ndendende.
Jesus said to the attendants, "Fill the jars with water." And they filled them to the brim.
8 Ndipo Iye anatinso kwa iwo, “Tsopano tungani ndipo kaperekeni kwa mkulu waphwando.” Iwo anachita momwemo.
Then He said, "Now, take some out, and carry it to the President of the feast."
9 Mkulu waphwando analawa madziwo amene anasandulika vinyo, ndipo sanazindikire kumene vinyoyo anachokera, ngakhale kuti antchito amene anatunga madziwo amadziwa. Kenaka anayitanira mkwati pambali
So they carried some to him. And no sooner had the President tasted the water now turned into wine, than--not knowing where it came from, though the attendants who had drawn the water knew--he called to the bridegroom
10 ndipo anati, “Aliyense amatulutsa vinyo wokoma kwambiri poyambirira ndipo kenaka vinyo wosakoma pamene oyitanidwa atamwa kale wambiri; koma iwe wasunga wokoma mpaka tsopano.”
and said to him, "It is usual to put on the good wine first, and when people have drunk freely, then that which is inferior. But you have kept the good wine till now."
11 Ichi chinali chizindikiro chodabwitsa choyamba chimene Yesu anachita ku Kana wa ku Galileya. Potero Iye anawulula ulemerero wake, ndipo ophunzira ake anamukhulupirira Iye.
This, the first of His miracles, Jesus performed at Cana in Galilee, and thus displayed His glorious power; and His disciples believed in Him.
12 Zitatha izi Iye anatsikira ku Kaperenawo pamodzi ndi amayi ake, abale ake ndi ophunzira ake. Iwo anakhala kumeneko masiku owerengeka.
Afterwards He went down to Capernaum--He, and His mother, and His brothers, and His disciples; and they made a short stay there.
13 Nthawi ya Paska ya Ayuda itayandikira, Yesu anapita ku Yerusalemu.
But the Jewish Passover was approaching, and for this Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
14 Mʼbwalo la Nyumba ya Mulungu Iye anapeza anthu akugulitsa ngʼombe, nkhosa ndi nkhunda ndipo ena akusintha ndalama pa matebulo.
And He found in the Temple the dealers in cattle and sheep and in pigeons, and the money-changers sitting there.
15 Chifukwa cha zimenezi Iye anapanga chikwapu cha zingwe ndipo anatulutsa onse mʼbwalo la Nyumbayo, pamodzi ndi nkhosa ndi ngʼombe; Iye anamwaza ndalama zawo ndi kugudubuza matebulo.
So He plaited a whip of rushes, and drove all--both sheep and bullocks--out of the Temple. The small coin of the brokers He upset on the ground and overturned their tables.
16 Kwa amene amagulitsa nkhunda, Iye anati, “Tulutsani izi muno! Osasandutsa Nyumba ya Atate anga msika!”
And to the pigeon-dealers He said, "Take these things away. Do not turn my Father's house into a market."
17 Ophunzira ake anakumbukira kuti zinalembedwa kuti, “Kudzipereka kwanga ku nyumba yanu kudzandiphetsa.”
This recalled to His disciples the words of Scripture, "My zeal for Thy House will consume me."
18 Kenaka Ayuda anamufunsa Yesu kuti, “Kodi mungationetse chizindikiro chodabwitsa chotani chotsimikizira ulamuliro wanu wochitira izi?”
So the Jews asked Him, "What proof of your authority do you exhibit to us, seeing that you do these things?"
19 Yesu anawayankha kuti, “Gwetsani Nyumba ya Mulunguyi ndipo Ine ndidzayimanganso mʼmasiku atatu.”
"Demolish this Sanctuary," said Jesus, "and in three days I will rebuild it."
20 Ayuda anayankha kuti, “Zinatenga zaka makumi anayi kumanga Nyumbayi, kodi Inu mungayimange masiku atatu?”
"It has taken forty-six years," replied the Jews, "to build this Sanctuary, and will you rebuild it in three days?"
21 Koma Nyumba ya Mulungu imene amanena linali thupi lake.
But He was speaking of the Sanctuary of His body.
22 Iye ataukitsidwa kwa akufa, ophunzira ake anakumbukira zimene Iye ananena ndipo anakhulupirira Malemba ndi mawu amene Yesu anayankhula.
When however He had risen from among the dead, His disciples recollected that He had said this; and they believed the Scripture and the teaching which Jesus had given them.
23 Tsopano Iye ali mu Yerusalemu pa phwando la Paska, anthu ambiri anaona zizindikiro zodabwitsa zimene amachita ndipo anakhulupirira dzina lake.
Now when He was in Jerusalem, at the Festival of the Passover, many became believers in Him through watching the miracles He performed.
24 Koma Yesu sanawakhulupirire iwo, pakuti amadziwa anthu onse.
But for His part, Jesus did not trust Himself to them, because He knew them all,
25 Iye sanafune umboni wa wina aliyense popeza amadziwa zomwe zinali mʼmitima mwa anthu.
and did not need any one's testimony concerning a man, for He of Himself knew what was in the man.
