< Yobu 5 >

1 “Itana ngati ungathe, koma ndani adzakuyankhe? Kodi ndi kwa mngelo uti ungapezeko thandizo?
Call, I pray thee—is there one to answer thee? Or, to which of the holy ones, wilt thou turn?
2 Mkwiyo umapha chitsiru, ndipo njiru imawononga wopusa.
For, to the foolish man, death is caused by vexation, and, the simple one, is slain by jealousy.
3 Ine ndinaona chitsiru chitamera mizu, koma mwadzidzidzi nyumba yake inatembereredwa.
I, have seen the foolish taking root, and then hath his home decayed, in a moment:
4 Ana ake alibe ndi chitetezo chomwe; amaponderezedwa mʼbwalo la milandu popanda owateteza.
His children are far removed from safety, and they are crushed in the gate, and there is none to deliver:
5 Anthu anjala amamudyera zokolola zake, amamutengera ndi za pa minga pomwe, ndipo anthu akhwinthi amafunkha chuma chake.
Whose harvest, the hungry, eateth up, and, even out of thorn hedges, he taketh it, and the snare gapeth for their substance.
6 Pakuti masautso satuluka mʼfumbi, ndipo kuwukira sikuchokera mʼdothi.
For sorrow, cometh not forth out of the dust, —nor, out of the ground, sprouteth trouble.
7 Komatu munthu amabadwira kuti azunzike monga momwe mbaliwali zimathethekera mlengalenga.
Though, man, to trouble, were born, as, sparks, on high, do soar,
8 “Koma ndikanakhala ine, ndikanamudandawulira Mulungu; ndikanapereka mlandu wanga kwa Iye.
Yet indeed, I, would seek unto El, and, unto Elohim, would I set forth any cause: —
9 Iye amachita zozizwitsa zimene sizimvetsetseka, zodabwitsa zimene sizingatheke kuwerengedwa.
Who doeth great things, beyond all search, —Wondrous things, till they cannot be recounted;
10 Iye amagwetsa mvula pa dziko lapansi, ndipo amathirira minda ya anthu.
Who giveth rain, upon the face of the earth, and sendeth forth waters, over the face of the open fields;
11 Iye amakweza anthu wamba, ndipo iwo amene akulira amawayika pa malo otetezedwa.
Setting the lowly on high, and, mourners, are uplifted to safety;
12 Iyeyo amalepheretsa chiwembu cha anthu ochenjera, kotero kuti cholinga chawo sichipindula kanthu.
Who doth frustrate the schemes of the crafty, that their hands cannot achieve abiding success;
13 Iye amakola anthu ochenjera mu msampha wa kuchenjera kwawo, ndipo zolinga za atambwali amazithetsa msangamsanga.
Who captureth the wise in their own craftiness, yea the headlong counsel of the crooked:
14 Mdima umawagwera nthawi yamasana; nthawi yamasana amayenda moyambasayambasa monga nthawi ya usiku.
By day, they encounter darkness, and, as though it were night, they grope at high noon.
15 Mulungu amapulumutsa amphawi ku lupanga la mʼkamwa mwawo; amawapulumutsa mʼmanja mwa anthu amphamvu.
But he saveth from the sword, out of their mouth, and, out of the hand of the strong, the needy.
16 Choncho osauka ali ndi chiyembekezo, ndipo anthu opanda chilungamo amawatseka pakamwa.
Thus to the poor hath come hope, and, perversity, hath shut her mouth.
17 “Wodala munthu amene Mulungu amamudzudzula; nʼchifukwa chake usanyoze chilango cha Wamphamvuzonse.
Lo! how happy is the man whom God correcteth! Therefore, the chastening of the Almighty, do not thou refuse;
18 Pakuti Iye amavulaza koma amamanganso mabalawo; Iye amakantha munthu, komanso manja ake amachiritsa.
For, he, woundeth that he may bind up, He smiteth through, that, his own hands, may heal.
19 Pakuti adzakupulumutsa ku masautso nthawi ndi nthawi, mavuto angachuluke bwanji, sadzakukhudza ndi pangʼono pomwe.
In six troubles, he will rescue thee, and, in seven, there shall smite thee no misfortune:
20 Pa nthawi ya njala adzakulanditsa ku imfa, ndipo nthawi ya nkhondo adzakupulumutsa ku lupanga.
In famine, he will ransom thee from death, and in battle from the power of the sword;
21 Adzakuteteza kwa anthu osinjirira, ndipo palibe chifukwa chochitira mantha pamene chiwonongeko chafika.
During the scourge of the tongue, shalt thou be hid, neither shalt thou be afraid of destruction when it cometh;
22 Uzidzaseka pa nthawi ya chiwonongeko ndi ya njala, ndipo palibe chifukwa chochitira mantha ndi zirombo za mʼdziko lapansi.
At destruction and at hunger, shalt thou laugh, and, of the wild beast of the earth, be not thou afraid;
23 Pakuti udzachita pangano ndi miyala ya mʼmunda mwako, ndipo nyama zakuthengo zidzakhala nawe mwamtendere.
For, with the stones of the field, shall be thy covenant, and, the wild beast of the field, hath been made thy friend;
24 Udzadziwa kuti nyumba yako ndi malo otetezedwa; udzawerengera katundu wako ndipo sudzapeza kanthu kamene kasowapo.
And thou shalt know that, at peace, is thy tent, and shalt visit thy fold, and miss nothing;
25 Udzadziwa kuti ana ako adzakhala ambiri, ndipo zidzukulu zako zidzakhala ngati udzu wa mʼdziko lapansi.
And thou shalt know, that numerous is thy seed, and, thine offspring, like the young shoots of the field.
26 Udzafika ku manda utakalamba, monga mitolo ya zokolola pa nyengo yake.
Thou shalt come, yet robust, to the grave, as a stack of sheaves mounteth up in its season.
27 “Ife tafufuza zimenezi ndipo ndi zoona, choncho uzimvere ndi kuzitsata.”
Lo! as for this, we have searched it out—so, it is, Hear it, and know, thou, for thyself.
