1 Pamenepo Zofari wa ku Naama anayankha kuti,
Then Zophar, the Naamathite, answered,
2 “Kodi mawu ambirimbiriwa nʼkukhala osayankhidwa? Kodi munthu woyankhulayankhulayu nʼkulungamitsidwa?
“Shouldn’t the multitude of words be answered? Should a man full of talk be justified?
3 Kodi anthu nʼkukhala chete atamva kubwebweta kwakoku? Kodi palibe wina amene adzakudzudzule pamene ukuyankhula zonyoza?
Should your boastings make men hold their peace? When you mock, will no man make you ashamed?
4 Iwe ukunena kwa Mulungu kuti, ‘Zikhulupiriro zanga ndi zopanda zolakwika ndipo ndine wangwiro pamaso panu.’
For you say, ‘My doctrine is pure. I am clean in your eyes.’
5 Aa, nʼkanakonda Mulungu akanayankhula kuti Iye atsekule pakamwa pake kutsutsana nawe
But oh that God would speak, and open his lips against you,
6 ndi kukuwululira chinsinsi cha nzeru yake, pakuti nzeru yeniyeni ili ndi mbali ziwiri. Dziwa izi: Mulungu wayiwala machimo ako ena.
that he would show you the secrets of wisdom! For true wisdom has two sides. Know therefore that God exacts of you less than your iniquity deserves.
7 “Kodi iwe ungathe kumvetsa zinsinsi za Mulungu? Kodi ungafufuze malire a nzeru za Wamphamvuzonse?
“Can you fathom the mystery of God? Or can you probe the limits of the Almighty?
8 Zili kutali kupambana mayiko akumwamba, nanga ungachite chiyani? Ndi zakuya kupambana kuya kwa manda, nanga ungadziwe chiyani? (Sheol h7585)
They are high as heaven. What can you do? They are deeper than Sheol. What can you know? (Sheol h7585)
9 Muyeso wa nzeru zake ndi wautali kupambana dziko lapansi ndipo ndi wopingasa kupambana nyanja.
Its measure is longer than the earth, and broader than the sea.
10 “Ngati Iye atabwera ndi kukutsekera mʼndende nakutengera ku bwalo la milandu, ndani angathe kumuletsa?
If he passes by, or confines, or convenes a court, then who can oppose him?
11 Ndithudi, Mulungu amazindikira anthu achinyengo; akaona choyipa, kodi sachizindikira?
For he knows false men. He sees iniquity also, even though he doesn’t consider it.
12 Munthu wopanda nzeru sizingatheke kukhala wanzeru monganso mwana wa bulu wakuthengo sangasanduke munthu.
An empty-headed man becomes wise when a man is born as a wild donkey’s colt.
13 “Koma ngati upereka mtima wako kwa Iye ndi kutambasulira manja ako kwa Iyeyo,
“If you set your heart aright, stretch out your hands toward him.
14 ngati utaya tchimo limene lili mʼdzanja lako ndi kusalola choyipa kuti chikhale mʼmoyo mwako,
If iniquity is in your hand, put it far away. Don’t let unrighteousness dwell in your tents.
15 udzatukula mutu wako wosachita manyazi; udzayima chilili ndipo sudzachita mantha.
Surely then you will lift up your face without spot. Yes, you will be steadfast, and will not fear,
16 Udzayiwala ndithu zowawa zako, zidzakhala ngati madzi amene apita kale.
for you will forget your misery. You will remember it like waters that have passed away.
17 Moyo wako udzawala kupambana usana, ndipo mdima udzakhala ngati mmawa.
Life will be clearer than the noonday. Though there is darkness, it will be as the morning.
18 Udzalimba mtima popeza pali chiyembekezo; ndipo udzayangʼana mbali zonse ndi kugona mosatekeseka.
You will be secure, because there is hope. Yes, you will search, and will take your rest in safety.
19 Udzagona pansi, popanda wina wokuopseza ndipo ambiri adzakupempha kuti uwachitire chifundo.
Also you will lie down, and no one will make you afraid. Yes, many will court your favor.
20 Koma anthu oyipa adzafuna thandizo osalipeza, ndipo adzasowa njira yothawirapo; chiyembekezo chawo chidzakhala imfa basi.”
But the eyes of the wicked will fail. They will have no way to flee. Their hope will be the giving up of the spirit.”
