< Yakobo 2 >

1 Abale anga, okhulupirira Yesu Khristu waulemerero, musaonetse tsankho.
My brothers, don’t hold the faith of our glorious Lord Jesus Christ with partiality.
2 Tangoganizirani, pakati panu patabwera munthu atavala mphete yagolide ndi zovala zapamwamba, ndipo winanso wosauka nʼkulowa atavala sanza.
For if a man with a gold ring, in fine clothing, comes into your synagogue, and a poor man in filthy clothing also comes in,
3 Ngati musamala kwambiri munthu wovala bwinoyu uja, nʼkumuwuza kuti, “Khalani pa mpando wabwinowu,” koma wosauka uja nʼkumuwuza kuti, “Ima apo,” kapena “Khala pansi pafupi ndi chopondapo mapazi angawa,”
and you pay special attention to him who wears the fine clothing and say, “Sit here in a good place;” and you tell the poor man, “Stand there,” or “Sit by my footstool”
4 kodi simunachite tsankho pakati panu ndi kukhala oweruza a maganizo oyipa?
haven’t you shown partiality among yourselves, and become judges with evil thoughts?
5 Tamverani abale anga okondedwa, kodi Mulungu sanasankhe amene dziko lapansi limawaona ngati amphawi kuti akhale olemera mʼchikhulupiriro ndi kulowa ufumu umene Iye analonjeza kwa amene amamukonda?
Listen, my beloved brothers. Didn’t God choose those who are poor in this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the Kingdom which he promised to those who love him?
6 Koma mwakhala mukunyoza amphawi. Kodi si anthu olemerawa amene akukudyerani masuku pamutu? Si anthu amenewa amene amakukokerani ku bwalo la milandu?
But you have dishonored the poor man. Don’t the rich oppress you and personally drag you before the courts?
7 Kodi si omwewa amene amachita chipongwe dzina la wolemekezeka, limene inu mumatchulidwa?
Don’t they blaspheme the honorable name by which you are called?
8 Ngati musungadi lamulo laufumu lija lopezeka mʼMalemba lakuti, “Konda mnansi wako monga iwe mwini,” ndiye kuti mukuchita bwino.
However, if you fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you do well.
9 Koma mukamaonetsa tsankho mukuchimwa, ndipo ndinu wochimwa monga wophwanya lamulo.
But if you show partiality, you commit sin, being convicted by the law as transgressors.
10 Pakuti amene amasunga Malamulo onse, akangophwanya fundo imodzi yokha, waphwanya Malamulo onse.
For whoever keeps the whole law, and yet stumbles in one point, he has become guilty of all.
11 Pakuti amene anati “Usachite chigololo” ndi yemweyonso anati “Usaphe.” Ngati suchita chigololo koma umapha, ndiwe wophwanya Malamulo.
For he who said, “Do not commit adultery,” also said, “Do not commit murder.” Now if you do not commit adultery but do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law.
12 Muziyankhula ndi kuchita zinthu monga anthu amene mudzaweruzidwe ndi lamulo limene limapereka ufulu,
So speak and so do as men who are to be judged by the law of freedom.
13 chifukwa munthu woweruza mopanda chifundo, nayenso adzaweruzidwa mopanda chifundo. Chifundo chimapambana pa chiweruzo.
For judgment is without mercy to him who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.
14 Abale anga, phindu lake nʼchiyani ngati munthu anena kuti ali ndi chikhulupiriro koma chopanda ntchito zabwino? Kodi chikhulupiriro choterechi chingamupulumutse?
What good is it, my brothers, if a man says he has faith, but has no works? Can faith save him?
15 Tangoganizirani, mʼbale kapena mlongo amene ali ndi usiwa, ndipo alibe chakudya cha tsiku ndi tsiku.
And if a brother or sister is naked and in lack of daily food,
16 Ngati mmodzi wa inu amuwuza kuti, “Pita ndi mtendere, ukafundidwe ndipo ukakhute,” koma osamupatsa zimene akuzisowa, phindu lake nʼchiyani pamenepa?
and one of you tells them, “Go in peace. Be warmed and filled;” yet you didn’t give them the things the body needs, what good is it?
17 Chomwechonso, chikhulupiriro chokha chopanda ntchito zabwino ndi chakufa.
Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead in itself.
18 Koma wina anganene kuti, “Inuyo muli ndi chikhulupiriro koma ine ndili ndi ntchito zabwino.” Onetsani chikhulupiriro chanu chopanda ntchito zabwino ndipo ineyo ndidzakuonetsani chikhulupiriro changa pochita ntchito zabwino.
Yes, a man will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without works, and I will show you my faith by my works.
19 Mumakhulupirira kuti kuli Mulungu mmodzi yekha. Mumachita bwino. Komatu ngakhale ziwanda zimakhulupirira zimenezi ndipo zimanjenjemera ndi mantha.
You believe that God is one. You do well. The demons also believe—and shudder.
20 Munthu wopusa iwe, kodi ukufuna umboni woti chikhulupiriro chopanda ntchito zabwino nʼchakufa?
But do you want to know, vain man, that faith apart from works is dead?
21 Kodi Abrahamu kholo lathu sanatengedwe kukhala wolungama chifukwa cha zimene anachita pamene anapereka mwana wake Isake pa guwa lansembe?
Wasn’t Abraham our father justified by works, in that he offered up Isaac his son on the altar?
22 Tsono mukuona kuti chikhulupiriro chake ndi ntchito zabwino zinkachitika pamodzi, ndipo chikhulupiriro chake chinasanduka chenicheni chifukwa cha ntchito zake zabwino.
You see that faith worked with his works, and by works faith was perfected.
23 Ndipo Malemba akunena kuti, “Abrahamu anakhulupirira Mulungu ndipo anatengedwa kukhala wolungama,” ndipo anatchedwa bwenzi la Mulungu.
So the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him as righteousness,” and he was called the friend of God.
24 Tsono mukuona kuti munthu amasanduka wolungama ndi ntchito zabwino osati ndi chikhulupiriro chokha ayi.
You see then that by works a man is justified, and not only by faith.
25 Nʼchimodzimodzinso, kodi wadama uja, Rahabe, sanasanduke wolungama chifukwa cha zomwe anachita pamene anapereka malo ogona kwa azondi aja ndi kuwathawitsira mbali ina?
In the same way, wasn’t Rahab the prostitute also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out another way?
26 Monga thupi lopanda mzimu ndi lakufa, chomwechonso chikhulupiriro chopanda ntchito zabwino ndi chakufa.
For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, even so faith apart from works is dead.
