< Yesaya 21 >

1 Uthenga wonena za chipululu cha mʼmbali mwa Nyanja. Ankhondo a ku Elamu ndi Mediya adzabwera ngati kamvuluvulu amene akuwomba modutsa mʼmbali ya nyanja, kuchokera ku chipululu, dziko lochititsa mantha.
The burden of the desert of the sea. As whirlwinds in the south pass through; [so] it cometh from the desert, from a terrible land.
2 Ine ndaona zinthu zoopsa mʼmasomphenya: Wonyenga akunyenga, wofunkha akufunkha komanso owononga akuwononga. Elamu, yambani nkhondo! Mediya, zingani mzinda! Ine ndidzathetsa mavuto onse amene anayambitsa Ababuloni.
A grievous vision is declared to me; the treacherous dealer dealeth treacherously, and the spoiler plundereth. Go up, O Elam: besiege, O Media; all her sighing have I made to cease.
3 Chifukwa cha zimenezi thupi langa likunjenjemera ndi mantha, ndikumva ululu ngati wa mayi amene akubereka; ndikuvutika kwambiri ndi zimene ndikumva, ndathedwa nzeru ndi zimene ndikuziona.
Therefore are my loins filled with pain: pangs have taken hold upon me, as the pangs of a woman that travaileth: I was bowed down at the hearing [of it]; I was dismayed at the seeing [of it].
4 Mtima wanga ukugunda, ndipo ndikunjenjemera ndi mantha; chisisira chimene ndakhala ndikuchifuna chasanduka chinthu choopsa kwa ine.
My heart panted, fearfulness affrighted me: the night of my pleasure hath he turned into fear to me.
5 Ankhondo a ku Elamu ndi Mediya akukonza matebulo, akuyala mphasa, akudya komanso kumwa! Mwadzidzidzi anamva mawu akuti, “Dzukani inu ankhondo, pakani mafuta zishango zanu!”
Prepare the table, watch in the watch-tower, eat, drink: arise, ye princes, [and] anoint the shield.
6 Zimene Ambuye akunena kwa ine ndi izi; “Pita, kayike mlonda kuti azinena zimene akuziona.
For thus hath the LORD said to me, Go, set a watchman, let him declare what he seeth.
7 Taonani, anthu akubwera ali pa akavalo ndipo akuyenda awiriawiri, okwera pa bulu kapena okwera pa ngamira, mlondayo akhale tcheru kwambiri.”
And he saw a chariot [with] a couple of horsemen, a chariot of asses, [and] a chariot of camels; and he hearkened diligently with much heed:
8 Ndipo mlondayo anafuwula kuti, “Ambuye anga, tsiku ndi tsiku ndimakhala pa nsanja yolondera; Usiku uliwonse ndimakhala pa malo anga olondera.
And he cried, a lion: My lord, I stand continually upon the watch-tower in the day time, and I am set in my ward whole nights.
9 Taonani, uyo munthu akubwera atakwera pa galeta ali ndi gulu la akavalo. Mmodzi wa iwo akuti, ‘Babuloni wagwa, wagwa! Mafano onse a milungu yake agwa pansi ndipo aphwanyika!’”
And behold, here cometh a chariot of men, [with] a couple of horsemen. And he answered and said, Babylon is fallen, is fallen; and all the graven images of her gods he hath broken to the ground.
10 Inu anthu anga opunthidwa ndi kupetedwa ngati tirigu, ine ndikukuwuzani zimene ndamva ndikukuwuzani Uthenga wochokera kwa Yehova Wamphamvuzonse, Mulungu wa Israeli.
O my threshing, and the corn of my floor; that which I have heard from the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, have I declared to you.
11 Uthenga wonena za Duma: Munthu wina akundiyitana kuchokera ku Seiri kuti, “Iwe mlonda, usikuwu utha liti? Iwe mlonda, utha liti kodi usikuwu?”
The burden of Dumah. He calleth to me out of Seir, Watchman, what of the night? Watchman, what of the night?
12 Mlonda akuyankha kuti, “Kukucha, koma kudanso. Ngati ukufuna kufunsa, funsa tsopano; ndipo ubwerenso udzafunse.”
The watchman said, The morning cometh, and also the night: if ye will inquire, inquire ye: return, come.
13 Uthenga wonena za Arabiya: Inu anthu amalonda a ku Dedani, amene usiku mumagona mʼzithukuluzi za ku Arabiya,
The burden upon Arabia. In the forest in Arabia shall ye lodge, O ye traveling companies of Dedanim.
14 perekani madzi kwa anthu aludzu. Inu anthu a ku Tema perekani chakudya kwa anthu othawa nkhondo.
The inhabitants of the land of Tema brought water to him that was thirsty, they met with their bread him that fled.
15 Iwo akuthawa malupanga, lupanga losololedwa, akuthawa uta wokokakoka ndiponso nkhondo yoopsa.
For they fled from the swords, from the drawn sword, and from the bent bow, and from the grievousness of war.
16 Zimene Ambuye akunena kwa ine ndi izi: “Chaka chimodzi chisanathe, potsata mmene amawerengera munthu waganyu, ulemerero wonse wa Kedara udzatheratu.
For thus hath the LORD said to me, Within a year, according to the years of a hireling, and all the glory of Kedar shall fail:
17 Mwa anthu okoka uta, ankhondo a ku Kedara opulumuka adzakhala owerengeka.” Wayankhula ndi Yehova Mulungu wa Israeli.
And the residue of the number of archers, the mighty men of the children of Kedar, shall be diminished: for the LORD God of Israel hath spoken [it].
