< Yesaya 20 >
1 Mʼchaka chimene mkulu wankhondo wotumidwa ndi mfumu ya ku Asiriya, anabwera ku Asidodi ndi kuwuthira nkhondo ndi kuwulanda,
In the year of the coming in of Tartan to Ashdod, when Sargon king of Asshur sends him, and he fights against Ashdod and captures it,
2 nthawi imeneyo Yehova anawuza Yesaya mwana wa Amozi kuti, “Pita kavule chiguduli ndi nsapato zako.” Ndipo iye anaterodi, ankangoyenda wamaliseche ndiponso wopanda nsapato.
at that time YHWH spoke by the hand of Isaiah son of Amoz, saying, “Go, and you have loosed the sackcloth from off your loins, and you draw your sandal from off your foot,” and he does so, going naked and barefoot.
3 Kenaka Yehova anati, “Monga momwe mtumiki wanga Yesaya wakhala akuyendera wamaliseche ndiponso wopanda nsapato kwa zaka zitatu ngati chizindikiro ndi chenjezo kwa dziko la Igupto ndi Kusi,
And YHWH says, “As My servant Isaiah has gone naked and barefoot three years, a sign and a wonder for Egypt and for Cush,
4 momwemonso mfumu ya ku Asiriya idzatenga ukapolo anthu a ku Igupto ndi a ku Kusi, anyamata ndi okalamba. Iwo adzakhala amaliseche ndi opanda nsapato, matako ali pa mtunda. Zimenezi zidzachititsa manyazi Igupto.
so the king of Asshur leads the captivity of Egypt, and the expulsion of Cush, young and old, naked and barefoot, with seat uncovered—the nakedness of Egypt;
5 Amene ankadalira Kusi, ndiponso amene ankadzitukumula chifukwa cha Igupto adzakhumudwa ndi kuchita manyazi.
and they have been frightened and ashamed of Cush their confidence, and of Egypt their beauty,
6 Tsiku limenelo anthu amene amakhala mʼmbali mwa nyanja adzati, ‘Taonani zomwe zawachitikira amene ife tinkawadalira, amene ife tinkathawirako kuti atithandize ndi kutipulumutsa kwa mfumu ya ku Asiriya! Nanga ife tidzapulumuka bwanji?’”
and the inhabitant of this island has said in that day—Behold, thus [is] our trust, To where we have fled for help, To be delivered from the king of Asshur, And how do we escape—we?”
