< Genesis 2 >
1 Motero kumwamba, dziko lapansi ndi zonse za mʼmenemo zinatha kulengedwa monga mwa kuchuluka kwawo.
And the heavens and the earth are completed, and all their host;
2 Pofika tsiku lachisanu ndi chiwiri Mulungu anamaliza ntchito zonse zimene ankagwira ndipo pa tsiku lachisanu ndi chiwiri anapumula ku ntchito zake zonse.
and God completes by the seventh day His work which He has made, and ceases by the seventh day from all His work which He has made.
3 Ndipo Mulungu anadalitsa tsiku lachisanu ndi chiwiri nalipatula, chifukwa pa tsiku limeneli Iye anapumula ku ntchito yonse yolenga imene anayigwira.
And God blesses the seventh day, and sanctifies it, for in it He has ceased from all His work which God had created for making.
4 Mbiri ya momwe kumwamba ndi dziko lapansi zinalengedwera pa tsiku lija Yehova Mulungu ankazilenga ndi iyi: Yehova Mulungu atapanga dziko lapansi ndi kumwamba,
These [are] the generations of the heavens and of the earth in their being created, in the day of YHWH God’s making the earth and the heavens;
5 zitsamba zinali zisanamere ndipo chomera chilichonse chinali chisanamerenso popeza Yehova Mulungu anali asanagwetse mvula pa dziko lapansi. Panalibe munthu wolima nthaka,
and no shrub of the field is yet in the earth, and no herb of the field yet sprouts, for YHWH God has not rained on the earth, and there is not a man to serve the ground,
6 koma kasupe ankatuluka mʼnthaka ndi kuthirira pa dziko lonse.
and a mist goes up from the earth, and has watered the whole face of the ground.
7 Tsono Yehova Mulungu anawumba munthu kuchokera ku dothi nawuziramo mpweya wamoyo mʼmphuno mwake ndipo munthuyo anakhala wamoyo.
And YHWH God forms the man—dust from the ground, and breathes into his nostrils breath of life, and the man becomes a living creature.
8 Kenaka Yehova Mulungu anatsekula munda wa Edeni chakummawa; kumeneko anayikako munthu amene anamupanga uja.
And YHWH God plants a garden in Eden, at the east, and He sets there the man whom He has formed;
9 Ndipo Yehova Mulungu anameretsa mʼmundamo mitengo ya mitundu yonse. Inali mitengo yokongola ndi ya zipatso zokoma. Pakati pa munda uja panali mtengo wopatsa moyo ndi mtengo wopatsa nzeru zodziwitsa chabwino ndi choyipa.
and YHWH God causes to sprout from the ground every tree desirable for appearance, and good for food, and the Tree of Life in the midst of the garden, and the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.
10 Mtsinje wothirira mundawo unkatuluka mu Edeni; kuchokera apo unkagawikana kukhala mitsinje inayi.
And a river is going out from Eden to water the garden, and from there it is parted, and has become four chief [rivers];
11 Dzina la mtsinje woyamba ndi Pisoni; uwu umazungulira dziko lonse la Havila, kumene kuli golide.
the name of the first [is] Pison, it [is] that which is surrounding the whole land of Havilah where the gold [is],
12 (Golide wa ku dziko ili ndi wabwino. Kulinso miyala yokongola ya bedola ndi onikisi).
and the gold of that land [is] good; the bdellium and the shoham stone [are] there;
13 Dzina la mtsinje wachiwiri ndi Gihoni; uwu umazungulira dziko lonse la Kusi.
and the name of the second river [is] Gihon, it [is] that which is surrounding the whole land of Cush;
14 Dzina la mtsinje wachitatu ndi Tigirisi; umayenda chakummawa kwa Asiriya. Ndipo mtsinje wachinayi ndi Yufurate.
and the name of the third river [is] Hiddekel, it [is] that which is going east of Asshur; and the fourth river is the Euphrates.
15 Yehova Mulungu anatenga munthu uja ndi kumuyika mʼmunda wa Edeni kuti awulime ndi kuwusamalira.
And YHWH God takes the man, and causes him to rest in the Garden of Eden, to serve it and to keep it.
16 Ndipo Yehova Mulungu analamula munthu uja kuti, “Uzidya zipatso za mu mtengo wina uliwonse mʼmundamu;
And YHWH God lays a charge on the man, saying, “From every tree of the garden eating you eat;
17 koma usadye zipatso za mu mtengo wodziwitsa chabwino ndi choyipa, popeza ukadzadya za mu mtengowu udzafa ndithu.”
but from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, you do not eat from it, for in the day of your eating from it—dying you die.”
18 Ndipo Yehova Mulungu anati, “Sibwino kuti munthu akhale yekha. Ndidzamupangira mnzake womuthandiza.”
And YHWH God says, “[It is] not good for the man to be alone; I make him a helper as his counterpart.”
19 Kenaka Yehova Mulungu anawumba ndi dothi nyama zonse zakuthengo ndi mbalame zonse zamlengalenga. Ndipo Iye anapita nazo kwa munthu uja kuti akazipatse mayina; ndipo dzina lililonse limene Adamu anapereka ku chamoyo chilichonse, lomwelo linakhala dzina lake.
And YHWH God forms from the ground every beast of the field, and every bird of the heavens, and brings [them] to the man, to see what he calls it; and whatever the man calls a living creature, that [is] its name.
20 Choncho Adamu anazitcha mayina ziweto zonse, mbalame zamlengalenga ndi nyama zakuthengo zonse. Komabe munthu uja analibe mnzake womuthandiza.
And the man calls names to all the livestock, and to bird of the heavens, and to every beast of the field; but for man a helper has not been found as his counterpart.
21 Tsono Yehova Mulungu anamugonetsa munthu uja tulo tofa nato; ali mtulo chomwecho, Mulungu anachotsa imodzi mwa nthiti zake ndi kutseka pamalopo ndi mnofu.
And YHWH God causes a deep sleep to fall on the man, and he sleeps, and He takes one of his ribs, and closes up flesh in its stead.
22 Motero Yehova Mulungu anapanga mkazi ndi nthiti ija imene anatenga kwa munthu uja nabwera naye kwa iye.
And YHWH God builds up the rib which He has taken out of the man into a woman, and brings her to the man;
23 Munthu uja anati, “Uyu ndiye fupa lochokera ku mafupa anga ndi mnofu wochokera ku mnofu wanga; adzatchedwa ‘mkazi,’ popeza wachokera mwa mwamuna.”
and the man says, “This at last! Bone of my bone, and flesh of my flesh!” For this is called Woman, for this has been taken from Man;
24 Nʼchifukwa chake, mwamuna amasiya abambo ndi amayi ake nakaphatikana ndi mkazi wake ndipo awiriwo amakhala thupi limodzi.
therefore a man leaves his father and his mother, and has cleaved to his wife, and they have become one flesh.
25 Munthu uja ndi mkazi wakeyo, onse awiri anali maliseche ndipo analibe manyazi.
And both of them are naked, the man and his wife, and they are not ashamed of themselves.
