< Agalatiya 2 >

1 Kenaka, patatha zaka khumi ndi zinayi, ndinapitanso ku Yerusalemu, nthawi iyi ndinapita ndi Barnaba. Ndinatenganso Tito kuti apite nafe.
Fourteen years later I went up again to Jerusalem, accompanied by Barnabas. I took Titus along also.
2 Ine ndinapita chifukwa Mulungu anachita kundionetsera kuti ndipite ndipo ndinakakumana ndi atsogoleri mu msonkhano mwamseri ndi kuwafotokozera Uthenga Wabwino umene ndimalalikira pakati pa anthu a mitundu ina. Ndinachita zimenezi kuti ndikhale ndi chitsimikizo kuopa kuti mwina ndinathamanga kapena ndimathamanga liwiro pachabe.
I went in response to a revelation and set before them the gospel that I preach among the Gentiles. But I spoke privately to those recognized as leaders, for fear that I was running or had already run in vain.
3 Komatu ngakhale Tito, amene anali nane sanakakamizidwe kuti achite mdulidwe, ngakhale iyeyo anali Mgriki.
Yet not even Titus, who was with me, was compelled to be circumcised, even though he was a Greek.
4 Nkhani iyi inayambika chifukwa abale ena achinyengo amene analowerera pakati pathu kuti adzaone za ufulu umene tili nawo mwa Khristu Yesu ndikuti atisandutse akapolo.
This issue arose because some false brothers had come in under false pretenses to spy on our freedom in Christ Jesus, in order to enslave us.
5 Ife sitinawagonjere ndi pangʼono pomwe, nʼcholinga chakuti choonadi cha Uthenga Wabwino chikhalebe ndi ife.
We did not give in to them for a moment, so that the truth of the gospel would remain with you.
6 Koma kunena za aja ankaoneka ngati ofunika kwambiri, chimene iwo anali sichisintha kanthu kwa ine; chifukwa Mulungu alibe tsankho, iwowo sanawonjezepo kanthu pa uthenga wanga.
But as for the highly esteemed—whatever they were makes no difference to me; God does not show favoritism —those leaders added nothing to me.
7 Makamaka anaona kuti ine ndinapatsidwa ntchito yolalikira Uthenga Wabwino kwa anthu a mitundu ina monga momwe Petro anapatsidwa ntchito yolalikira Uthenga Wabwino kwa Ayuda.
On the contrary, they saw that I had been entrusted to preach the gospel to the uncircumcised, just as Peter had been to the circumcised.
8 Pakuti Mulungu, amene amagwira ntchito mu utumiki wa Petro monga mtumwi kwa Ayuda, amagwiranso ntchito mu utumiki wanga monga mtumiki kwa anthu a mitundu ina.
For the One who was at work in Peter’s apostleship to the circumcised was also at work in my apostleship to the Gentiles.
9 Yakobo, Petro ndi Yohane, amene ankatengedwa ngati mizati, atazindikira chisomo chimene chinapatsidwa kwa ine, anagwirana chanza ndi ine ndi Barnaba kusonyeza chiyanjano chathu. Iwo anavomereza kuti ife tipite kwa anthu a mitundu ina ndipo iwo apite kwa Ayuda.
And recognizing the grace that I had been given, James, Cephas, and John—those reputed to be pillars—gave me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship, so that we should go to the Gentiles, and they to the circumcised.
10 Chimene iwo anapempha ndi chakuti ife tipitirize kukumbukira osauka, chinthu chimene ine ndinali okonzeka kuchichita.
They only asked us to remember the poor, the very thing I was eager to do.
11 Petro atafika ku Antiokeya, ine ndinamudzudzula pa gulu chifukwa anapezeka wolakwa.
When Cephas came to Antioch, however, I opposed him to his face, because he stood to be condemned.
12 Pakuti asanafike anthu otumidwa ndi Yakobo, iye ankadya pamodzi ndi anthu a mitundu ina. Koma atafika, iyeyo anachoka pakati pa anthuwo nakakhala pa yekha chifukwa ankaopa anthu a mʼgulu la mdulidwe.
For before certain men came from James, he used to eat with the Gentiles. But when they arrived, he began to draw back and separate himself, for fear of those in the circumcision group.
13 Ayuda enanso anamutsata pochita zachinyengozi, kotero kuti ngakhale Barnaba anasocheretsedwa chifukwa cha chinyengo chawocho.
The other Jews joined him in his hypocrisy, so that by their hypocrisy even Barnabas was led astray.
14 Koma nditaona kuti iwo sankachita molingana ndi choonadi cha Uthenga Wabwino, ndinawuza Petro pamaso pa anthu onse kuti, “Iwe ndiwe Myuda koma ukukhala ngati munthu wa mtundu wina, osati Myuda. Nanga nʼchifukwa chiyani ukukakamiza anthu a mitundu ina kuti akhale ngati Ayuda?
When I saw that they were not walking in line with the truth of the gospel, I said to Cephas in front of them all, “If you, who are a Jew, live like a Gentile and not like a Jew, how can you compel the Gentiles to live like Jews?”
15 “Ife amene ndife Ayuda mwachibadwa, osati anthu a mitundu ina ochimwa,
We who are Jews by birth and not Gentile “sinners”
16 tikudziwa kuti munthu salungamitsidwa pochita ntchito za lamulo koma ndi chikhulupiriro mwa Yesu Khristu. Chomwecho, ifenso tinakhulupirira Khristu Yesu kuti tilungamitsidwe mwachikhulupiriro mwa Khristu ndipo osati pochita ntchito za lamulo, chifukwa palibe amene adzalungamitsidwa pochita ntchito za lamulo.
know that a man is not justified by works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have believed in Christ Jesus, that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified.
17 “Tsono ngati ife, pamene tikufuna kulungamitsidwa mwa Khristu, zikuonekeratu poyera kuti ndifenso ochimwa, kodi zikutanthauza kuti Khristu amalimbikitsa uchimo? Ayi. Nʼkosatheka!
But if, while we seek to be justified in Christ, we ourselves are found to be sinners, does that make Christ a minister of sin? Certainly not!
18 Ngati ine ndimanganso chimene ndinachigumula, ndikuonetsa kuti ndine wophwanya lamulo.
If I rebuild what I have already torn down, I prove myself to be a lawbreaker.
19 “Pakuti pamene ndinayesera kutsatira lamulo, lamulolo linandionetsa kuti ndine wochimwa. Choncho ndinasiya kutsatira lamulo kuti ndikhale ndi moyo kwa Mulungu.
For through the law I died to the law so that I might live to God.
20 Ndinapachikidwa pa mtanda pamodzi ndi Khristu, kotero kuti sindinenso amene ndili ndi moyo, koma ndi Khristu amene ali ndi moyo mwa ine. Moyo umene ndili nawo tsopano mʼthupi lino, ndi moyo mwachikhulupiriro mwa Mwana wa Mulungu, amene anandikonda nadzipereka yekha chifukwa cha ine.
I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.
21 Ine sindikukankhira kumbali chisomo cha Mulungu, chifukwa ngati chilungamo chikanapezeka pochita ntchito za lamulo, ndiye kuti Khristu anafa pachabe.”
I do not set aside the grace of God. For if righteousness comes through the law, Christ died for nothing.
