< Aefeso 2 >
1 Kunena za inu, kale munali akufa chifukwa cha zolakwa zanu ndi machimo anu,
[Unto] you also—being dead by your offences and sins,
2 mmene inu munkakhalamo pamene munkatsatira njira za dziko lapansi ndi za ulamuliro waufumu wa mlengalenga, mzimu umene ukugwira ntchito tsopano mwa amene samvera. (aiōn )
In which at one time ye walked, according to the age of the world, according to the prince of the authority of the air, of the spirit that now energiseth in the sons of disobedience, (aiōn )
3 Nthawi ina tonsefe tinalinso ndi moyo wonga wawo, tinkachitanso zilizonse zimene matupi ndi maganizo athu ankafuna. Mwachibadwa chathu, tinali oyenera chilango monga anthu ena onse.
Among whom also, we all, had our behaviour, at one time, in the covetings of our flesh, doing the things desired by the flesh and the mind, and were children, by nature, of anger—even as the rest, —
4 Koma chifukwa cha chikondi chake chachikulu pa ife, Mulungu amene ndi olemera mʼchifundo,
But, God, being rich in mercy, by reason of the great love wherewith he loved us,
5 anatipanga kukhala amoyo ndi Khristu ngakhale pamene ife tinali akufa mu zolakwa zathu. Koma tinapulumutsidwa mwachisomo.
Although we were dead by our offences, gave us life together with the Christ, —by favour, ye have been saved, —
6 Ndipo Mulungu anatiukitsa pamodzi ndi Khristu ndi kutikhazika pamodzi ndi Iye mmwamba mwa Khristu Yesu,
And raised us up together, and seated us together in the heavenlies, in Christ:
7 ndi cholinga chakuti mʼnthawi imene ikubwera, Iyeyo adzaonetse chuma choposa cha chisomo chake, choonetsedwa mwa kukoma mtima kwake kwa ife mwa Khristu Yesu. (aiōn )
That he might point out, in the oncoming ages, the surpassing riches of his favour in graciousness upon us, in Christ Jesus; (aiōn )
8 Pakuti mwapulumutsidwa mwachisomo, kudzera mʼchikhulupiriro ndipo izi sizochokera mwa inu eni, koma ndi mphatso ya Mulungu,
For, by his favour, have ye been saved, through means of faith, and this [hath come to pass] —not from you, of God, the free-gift!
9 osati ndi ntchito, kuti wina aliyense asadzitamandire.
Not from works, lest anyone should boast.
10 Pakuti ndife ntchito ya Mulungu, olengedwa mwa Khristu Yesu kuti tichite ntchito zabwino, zimene Mulungu anazikonzeratu kale kuti tizichite.
His, in fact we are—his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus upon a footing of good works, which God prepared beforehand, that, therein, we might walk.
11 Chifukwa chake kumbukirani kuti poyamba inu amene munali anthu a mitundu ina mwachibadwa ndipo munkatchedwa “osachita mdulidwe” ndi amene amadzitcha okha “a mdulidwe” (zimene zinachitika mʼthupi ndi manja a anthu).
Wherefore, keep in remembrance—that, at one time, ye, the nations in flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by the so-called Circumcision in flesh, made by hand,
12 Kumbukirani kuti nthawi imene inu munali wopanda Khristu, simunkawerengedwa ngati nzika za Israeli ndipo munali alendo pa pangano la lonjezo, wopanda chiyembekezo ndi opanda Mulungu mʼdziko lapansi.
That ye were, in that season, separate from Christ, alienated from the citizenship of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and godless in the world;
13 Koma tsopano mwa Khristu Yesu, inu amene nthawi ina munali kutali, mwabweretsedwa pafupi kudzera mʼmagazi a Khristu.
But, just now, in Christ Jesus, ye, who at one time were afar off, were made nigh in the blood of the Christ;
14 Pakuti Iye mwini ndiye mtendere wathu, amene anachita kuti awiri akhale mmodzi ndipo anagumula chotchinga, khoma la udani lotilekanitsa,
He, in fact, is our peace—who made both one, and, the enclosing middle-wall, took down,
15 pothetsa mʼthupi lake lamulo pamodzi ndi zolamulira zake ndi malangizo. Cholinga chake chinali chakuti alenge mwa Iye mwini, munthu mmodzi watsopano kuchokera kwa abwino, motero nʼkupanga mtendere,
The enmity, in his flesh—the law of commandments in decrees—bringing to nought, —that, the two, he might create in himself, into one man of new mould, making peace.
16 ndi kuyanjanitsa onse awiriwa mʼthupi lake kwa Mulungu, kudzera pa mtanda, umene Iye anaphapo udani wawo.
And might fully reconcile them both, in one body, through means of the cross, —slaying the enmity thereby; —
17 Iye anabwera ndipo analalikira mtendere kwa inu amene munali kutali ndi mtendere ndiponso kwa iwonso amene anali pafupi.
And, coming, he announced the glad-message—of peace, unto you, the far off, and peace, unto them that were nigh;
18 Pakuti mwa Iye, ife tonse titha kufika kwa Atate mwa Mzimu mmodzi.
Because, through him, we have our introduction—we both—in one Spirit, unto the Father.
19 Kotero kuti, inu sindinunso alendo ndi adani, koma nzika pamodzi ndi anthu a Mulungu ndiponso a mʼbanja la Mulungu.
Hence, then—no longer, are ye strangers and sojourners, but ye are fellow-citizens of the saints, and members of the household of God, —
20 Ndinu okhazikika pa maziko a atumwi ndi a aneneri, pamodzi ndi Khristu Yesu mwini ngati mwala wa pa ngodya.
Having been built up on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, there being, for chief corner stone, Jesus Christ himself, —
21 Mwa Iyeyo, nyumba yonse yalumikizidwa pamodzi ndipo yakwezedwa kukhala Nyumba yoyera mwa Ambuye.
In whom, an entire building, in process of being fitly joined together, is growing into a holy shrine in [the] Lord;
22 Ndipo mwa Iye, inunso mukamangidwa pamodzi ndi ena onse kukhala nyumba yokhalamo imene Mulungu amakhala mwa Mzimu wake.
In whom, ye also, are being builded together, into a habitation of God in Spirit.
