< Mlaliki 7 >

1 Mbiri yabwino ndi yopambana mafuta onunkhira bwino, ndipo tsiku lomwalira ndi lopambana tsiku lobadwa.
Better a name, than precious ointment, —and the day of death, than the day of one’s birth.
2 Kuli bwino kupita ku nyumba yamaliro kusiyana ndi kupita ku nyumba yamadyerero: Pakuti imfa ndiye mathero a munthu aliyense; anthu amoyo azichisunga chimenechi mʼmitima mwawo.
Better to go to the house of mourning, than to go to the house of banqueting, for, that, is the end of all men, —and, the living, should take it to his heart.
3 Chisoni nʼchabwino kusiyana ndi kuseka, pakuti nkhope yakugwa ndi yabwino chifukwa imakonza mtima.
Better is grief than laughter, —for, by the marring of the face, amended is the heart.
4 Mtima wa munthu wanzeru nthawi zonse umalingalira za imfa, koma mitima ya zitsiru imalingalira za chisangalalo.
The heart of the wise, is in the house of mourning, but, the heart of dullards, in the house of mirth.
5 Kuli bwino kumva kudzudzula kwa munthu wanzeru kusiyana ndi kumvera mayamiko a zitsiru.
Better to hear the rebuke of the wise, than for any man to hear the song of dullards,
6 Kuseka kwa zitsiru kuli ngati kuthetheka kwa moto kunsi kwa mʼphika, izinso ndi zopandapake.
For, as the crackling of thorns under a pot, so, is the laughter of the dullard, —even this, then, was vanity.
7 Kuzunza ena kumasandutsa munthu wanzeru kukhala chitsiru, ndipo chiphuphu chimawononga mtima.
For, oppression, maddeneth the wise, —and a bribe, destroyeth the understanding.
8 Mathero ake a chinthu ndi abwino kupambana chiyambi chake, ndipo kufatsa nʼkwabwino kupambana kudzikuza.
Better the latter end of a thing, than the beginning thereof, —Better a patient spirit, than a haughty spirit.
9 Usamafulumire kukwiya mu mtima mwako, pakuti mkwiyo ndi bwenzi la zitsiru.
Do not be rash in thy spirit, to be indignant, —for, indignation, in the bosom of dullards, doth remain.
10 Usamafunse kuti, “Nʼchifukwa chiyani masiku amakedzana anali abwino kupambana masiku ano?” pakuti si chinthu chanzeru kufunsa mafunso oterewa.
Do not say, What hath happened, that, the former days, were better than these? for, not wisely, askest thou concerning this.
11 Nzeru ngati cholowa, ndi chinthu chabwino ndipo imapindulitsa wamoyo aliyense pansi pano.
Good is wisdom, with an inheritance, —and a profit, to such as see the sun.
12 Nzeru ndi chitetezo, monganso ndalama zili chitetezo, koma phindu la chidziwitso ndi ili: kuti nzeru zimasunga moyo wa munthu amene ali nazo nzeruzo.
For, a protection, is wisdom, and, a protection, is silver, —but, the advantage of knowledge, is, that, wisdom, giveth life to the possessors thereof.
13 Taganizirani zimene Mulungu wazichita: ndani angathe kuwongola chinthu chimene Iye anachipanga chokhota?
Consider the work of God, —for who can straighten what he hath bent?
14 Pamene zinthu zili bwino, sangalala; koma pamene zinthu sizili bwino, ganizira bwino: Mulungu ndiye anapanga nthawi yabwinoyo, ndiponso nthawi imene si yabwinoyo. Choncho munthu sangathe kuzindikira chilichonse cha mʼtsogolo mwake.
In the day of prosperity, be joyful, but, in the day of misfortune, consider, —Even the one equally with the other, hath God made, to the end man might find out—after him—nothing.
15 Pa moyo wanga wopanda phinduwu ndaona zinthu ziwiri izi: munthu wolungama akuwonongeka mʼchilungamo chake, ndipo munthu woyipa akukhala moyo wautali mʼzoyipa zake.
Everything, had I seen, in my days of vanity, —Here was a righteous man, perishing in his righteousness, and there was a lawless man, continuing long in his wickedness.
16 Usakhale wolungama kwambiri kapena wanzeru kwambiri, udziwonongerenji wekha?
Do not become so very righteous, neither count thyself wise beyond measure, —wherefore shouldst thou destroy thyself?
17 Usakhale woyipa kwambiri, ndipo usakhale chitsiru, uferenji nthawi yako isanakwane?
Do not be so very lawless, neither become thou foolish, —wherefore shouldst thou die, before thy time?
18 Nʼkwabwino kuti utsate njira imodzi, ndipo usataye njira inayo. Munthu amene amaopa Mulungu adzapewa zinthu ziwiri zonsezi.
It is well that thou shouldst lay fast hold of this, but, even from the other, do not withdraw thy hand, —for, he that revereth God, shall come forth out of them all.
19 Nzeru zimapereka mphamvu zambiri kwa munthu wanzeru kupambana olamulira khumi a mu mzinda.
Wisdom, bringeth more strength to a wise man, than ten heroes, that are in the city.
20 Palibe munthu wolungama pa dziko lapansi amene amachita zabwino zokhazokha ndipo sachimwa.
For, as for men, there is none righteous in the earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.
21 Usamamvetsere mawu onse amene anthu amayankhula, mwina udzamva wantchito wako akukutukwana,
Moreover, not to all the words which men speak, do thou apply thy heart, —lest thou hear thine own servant reviling thee!
22 pakuti iwe ukudziwa mu mtima mwako kuti nthawi zambiri iwenso unatukwanapo ena.
For truly, many times, thy heart knoweth, —that, even thou thyself, hast reviled others.
23 Zonsezi ndinaziyesa ndi nzeru zanga ndipo ndinati, “Ine ndatsimikiza mu mtima mwanga kuti ndikhale wanzeru,” koma nzeruyo inanditalikira.
All this, have I proved by wisdom, —I said, I will be wise, but, that, was far from me.
24 Nzeru zimene zilipo, zili kutali ndipo ndi zozama kwambiri, ndani angathe kuzidziwa?
Far away, is that which hath been, —and deep, deep, who can find it out?
25 Kotero ndinayikapo mtima wanga kuti ndidziwe, ndifufuze ndi kumafunafuna nzeru ndi mmene zinthu zimakhalira ndipo ndinafunanso kudziwa kuyipa kwa uchitsiru ndiponso kupusa kwake kwa misala.
Resolved, I, in my heart, to know and search out, and to seek wisdom, and a conclusion, —and to know lawlessness [to be] stupidity, and folly to be madness.
26 Ndinapeza kanthu kowawa kupambana imfa, mkazi amene ali ngati khoka, amene mtima wake uli ngati khwekhwe, ndipo manja ake ali ngati maunyolo. Munthu amene amakondweretsa Mulungu adzathawa mkaziyo, koma mkaziyo adzakola munthu wochimwa.
I, could indeed find, to be, more bitter than death, the woman, whose heart is, snares and nets, and her hands, bonds, —whoso is pleasing before God, shall escape from her, but, he that sinneth, shall be captured by her.
27 Mlaliki akunena kuti, “Taonani, chimene ndinachipeza ndi ichi: “Kuwonjezera chinthu china pa china kuti ndidziwe mmene zinthu zimachitikira,
See! this, have I found, saith the Proclaimer [counting] one by one, to find a conclusion;
28 pamene ine ndinali kufufuzabe koma osapeza kanthu, ndinapeza munthu mmodzi wolungama pakati pa anthu 1,000, koma pakati pawo panalibepo mkazi mmodzi wolungama.
what my soul still sought, yet I found not, —one man out of a thousand, have I found, but, a woman among all these, have I not found.
29 Chokhacho chimene ndinachipeza ndi ichi: Mulungu analenga munthu, anamupatsa mtima wolungama, koma anthu anatsatira njira zawozawo zambirimbiri.”
Only, see, this, have I found, That God made man upright, but, they, have sought out many devices.
