< Machitidwe a Atumwi 13 >
1 Mu mpingo wa ku Antiokeya munali aneneri ndi aphunzitsi awa: Barnaba, Simeoni, Lukia wa ku Kurene, Manayeni (amene analeredwa pamodzi ndi mfumu Herode), ndiponso Saulo.
Now there were in Antioch, distributed through the existing assembly, —prophets and teachers: both Barnabas and Symeon who was called Niger, and Lucius the Cyrenian, Manaen also, Herod the tetrarch’s foster-brother, and Saul.
2 Iwo pamene ankapembedza Ambuye ndi kusala kudya, Mzimu Woyera anati, “Mundipatulire Barnaba ndi Saulo kuti akagwire ntchito imene ndinawayitanira.”
And, as they were publicly ministering unto the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said—Separate forthwith unto me, Barnabas and Saul, unto the work whereunto I have called them.
3 Ndipo atasala kudya ndi kupemphera anasanjika manja awo pa iwo nawatumiza.
Then, fasting and praying, and laying their hands upon them, they sent them away.
4 Barnaba ndi Saulo motumidwa ndi Mzimu Woyera, anapita ku Selukeya ndipo kuchokera kumeneko anakwera sitima ya pamadzi kupita ku Kupro.
They, therefore, being sent forth by the Holy Spirit, went down unto Seleucia, and, from thence, sailed away unto Cyprus;
5 Pamene anafika ku Salamisi, analalikira Mawu a Mulungu mʼMasunagoge a Ayuda. Iwo anali ndi Yohane monga wowatumikira.
And, coming to be in Salamis, they declared the word of God in the synagogues of the Jews; —and they had, John also, as an attendant.
6 Iwo anayenda pa chilumba chonse mpaka anafika ku Pafo, kumeneko anapezanako ndi Myuda, wamatsenga amene analinso mneneri wonama dzina lake Barayesu.
And, passing through the whole island, as far as Paphos, they found a certain man, a magician, a false-prophet, a Jew, whose name was Bar-jesus;
7 Iyeyu, amathandiza mkulu wa boma, Sergio Paulo. Mkulu wa bomayu, munthu wanzeru, anayitana Barnaba ndi Saulo chifukwa anafuna kumva Mawu a Mulungu.
Who was with the proconsul, Sergius Paulus, an intelligent man. The same, calling for Barnabas and Saul, sought to hear the word of God.
8 Koma Elima wamatsengayo, (Elima tanthauzo lake ndi wamatsenga), anatsutsana nawo ndipo anafuna kumuletsa mkulu wa bomayo kuti asakhulupirire.
But Elymas the magician, —for so, when translated, is his name, —withstood them; seeking to turn aside the proconsul from the faith.
9 Koma Saulo, amenenso amatchedwa Paulo, wodzazidwa ndi Mzimu Woyera anamuyangʼanitsitsa Elima ndipo anati,
But Saul, who is also Paul, filled with Holy Spirit, looking steadfastly at him,
10 “Iwe ndiwe mwana wa mdierekezi ndiponso mdani wa chilungamo! Ndiwe wodzaza ndi chinyengo cha mtundu uliwonse ndi kuchenjera konse. Kodi sudzaleka kupotoza njira zolungama za Ambuye?
Said—O full of all guile, and all recklessness! Son of an adversary! Enemy of all righteousness!—Wilt thou not cease to pervert the straight ways of the Lord?
11 Tsopano dzanja la Ambuye likukutsutsa iwe. Udzakhala wosaona ndipo kwa kanthawi sudzatha kuona kuwala kwa dzuwa.” Nthawi yomweyo khungu ndi mdima zinamugwera ndipo anafunafuna munthu woti amugwire dzanja kuti amutsogolere.
Now, therefore, lo! the hand of the Lord is upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun, until a fitting time. And, instantly, there fell upon him a mist and darkness; and, going about, he was seeking such as might lead him by the hand.
12 Pamene mkulu wa bomayo anaona zimene zinachitika anakhulupirira pakuti anadabwa ndi chiphunzitso cha Ambuye.
Then, the proconsul, seeing what had happened, believed, being amazed at the teaching of the Lord.
13 Kuchokera ku Pafo, Paulo ndi anzake anayenda pa sitima ya pamadzi kupita ku Perga wa ku Pamfiliya, kumeneko Yohane anawasiya nabwerera ku Yerusalemu.
And, setting sail from Paphos, Paul’s company came into Perga of Pamphylia; but, John, withdrawing from them, returned unto Jerusalem.
14 Kuchokera ku Perga anapita ku Pisidiya wa ku Antiokeya. Pa tsiku la Sabata analowa mʼsunagoge, nakhala pansi.
They, however, passing through from Perga, arrived at Antioch of Pisidia; and, going into the synagogue on the sabbath-day, sat down.
15 Atawerenga mawu a mʼMalamulo ndi Aneneri, akulu a sunagoge anawatumizira mawu ndi kuti, “Abale ngati muli ndi mawu olimbikitsa nawo anthuwa, nenani.”
And, after the reading of the law and the prophets, the synagogue-rulers sent unto them, saying—Brethren! if there is in you a word of exhortation unto the people, say on.
16 Atayimirira, Paulo anakweza dzanja lake ndi kuti, “Inu Aisraeli ndiponso inu a mitundu ina amene mumapembedza Mulungu, tandimverani!
And Paul, standing up, and making a sign with his hand, said—Ye men of Israel! and such as revere God! hearken: —
17 Mulungu wa Aisraeli anasankha makolo athu ndipo anawapatsa chuma chambiri pamene amakhala ku Igupto. Anawatulutsa mʼdzikomo ndi dzanja lake lamphamvu.
The God of this people Israel, chose our fathers, and, the people, he exalted, by their sojourn in the land of Egypt, —and, with a high arm, brought he them out of it;
18 Ndipo Iye anapirira khalidwe lawo mʼchipululu kwa zaka makumi anayi.
And, for the time of about forty years, bare with their manners in the desert;
19 Mulungu anawagonjetsera mitundu isanu ndi iwiri ya ku Kanaani ndipo anapereka dzikolo kwa Israeli kuti likhale lawo.
And, overthrowing seven nations in the land of Canaan, gave them their land as an inheritance—about four hundred and fifty years.
20 Izi zonse zinatenga zaka 450. “Zitatha izi, Mulungu anawapatsa oweruza mpaka nthawi ya mneneri Samueli.
And, after these things, he gave them judges, until Samuel the prophet.
21 Kenaka anthu anapempha kuti awapatse mfumu, ndipo anawapatsa Sauli mwana wa Kisi, wa fuko la Benjamini amene analamulira zaka makumi anayi.
And, from that time, they asked for themselves a king, and God gave them Saul, son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, during forty years;
22 Mulungu atamuchotsa Sauli, anayika Davide kukhala mfumu yawo. Mulungu anamuchitira umboni kuti, ‘Ndapeza Davide mwana wa Yese munthu wa pamtima panga; iye adzachita zonse zimene ine ndikufuna kuti iye achite.’
And, setting him aside, raised up, David, unto them for king, —of whom he also said, bearing witness—I have found David, the son of Jesse, —[a man] according to my heart, who will do all my will.
23 “Kuchokera mwa zidzukulu za munthu ameneyu, Mulungu anawutsa Yesu kukhala Mpulumutsi wa Aisraeli, monga analonjezera.
From this man’s seed, hath God, according to promise, brought unto Israel, a saviour—Jesus:
24 Yesu asanabwere, Yohane analalikira kwa anthu onse Aisraeli za kutembenuka mtima ndi ubatizo.
John, beforehand proclaiming, before the face of his coming in, an immersion of repentance, unto all the people of Israel.
25 Pamene Yohane amatsiriza ntchito yake anati: ‘Mukuganiza kuti ine ndine yani? Ine sindine ameneyo ayi, koma Iye akubwera pambuyo panga, amene ine sindine woyenera kumasula zingwe za nsapato zake.’
And, as John was fulfilling his course, he was saying—Whom are ye supposing that I am? I, am not he! But lo! there cometh, after me, one of whom I am not worthy, the sandals of his feet, to loosen.
26 “Abale, ana a Abrahamu, ndiponso inu a mitundu ina amene mumaopa Mulungu, Iye watumiza uthenga wachipulumutsowo kwa ife.
Brethren! sons of the race of Abraham, and those who among you revere God, —unto you, hath this word of salvation been sent forth.
27 Anthu a ku Yerusalemu ndi atsogoleri awo sanazindikire Yesu, komabe pomuweruza Yesu anakwaniritsa mawu a Aneneri amene amawerengedwa Sabata lililonse.
For, they who were dwelling in Jerusalem, and their rulers, not recognising him, have, by judging him, fulfilled, the very voices of the prophets which every sabbath are being read;
28 Ngakhale sanapeze chifukwa choti afe, anapempha Pilato kuti amuphe.
And, though no single cause of death they found, yet claimed they of Pilate that he should be slain.
29 Atachita zonse zimene zinalembedwa za Iye, iwo anamuchotsa pa mtengo ndipo anamuyika mʼmanda.
And, when they had finished all those things which, concerning him, had been written, taking him down from the tree, they put him in a tomb.
30 Koma Mulungu anamuukitsa,
But, God, raised him from among the dead:
31 ndipo kwa masiku ambiri anaonekera kwa amene anayenda naye kuchokera ku Galileya mpaka ku Yerusalemu. Iwowa tsopano ndi mboni zake kwa anthu a Israeli.
Who appeared, during many days, unto them who had come up with him from Galilee unto Jerusalem; who, indeed, [now] are his witnesses unto the people.
32 “Ife tikukuwuzani Uthenga Wabwino; umene Mulungu analonjeza makolo athu.
We, therefore, unto you, bring the good news, as to the promise which, unto our fathers, was made, —
33 Iye wakwaniritsa zimenezi kwa ife ana awo, poukitsa Yesu kuchokera kwa akufa. Monga zinalembedwa mu Salimo lachiwiri kuti, “Iwe ndiwe mwana wanga; lero ine ndakhala Atate ako.”
That God hath fulfilled, the same, for our children, by raising up Jesus: as also, in the second psalm, it is written—My son, art, thou: I, this day, have begotten thee.
34 Zakuti Mulungu anamuukitsa kuti asawole konse, zinanenedwa mʼmawu awa: “‘Ine, ndidzakupatsa madalitso opatulika ndi odalirika amene ndinalonjeza Davide.’
And, in that he raised him from among the dead, no more destined to return unto corruption, on this wise hath he spoken—I will give unto you the faithful lovingkindnesses of David.
35 Nʼchifukwa chakenso zinalembedwa mu Salimo lina kuti, “‘Simudzalekerera woyera wanu kuti awole.’
Wherefore also, in a different [place], he saith—Thou wilt not give thy man of lovingkindness to see corruption.
36 “Pakuti pamene Davide anatsiriza kutumikira Mulungu mu mʼbado wake, anamwalira, iye anayikidwa mʼmanda pamodzi ndi makolo ake ndipo thupi lake linawola.
For, David, indeed, unto his own generation having done service, by the counsel of God, fell asleep, and was added unto fathers, and saw corruption;
37 Koma amene Mulungu anamuukitsa kwa akufa sanawole ayi.
But, he whom God hath raised, did not see corruption.
38 “Nʼchifukwa chake, abale anga, dziwani kuti mwa Yesu chikhululukiro cha machimo chikulalikidwa.
Be it known unto you, therefore, brethren, —that, through this man, unto you, remission of sins is declared;
39 Kudzera mwa Iye aliyense amene akhulupirira, alungamitsidwa kuchoka ku tchimo lililonse limene silingachoke ndi Malamulo a Mose.
And, from all things from which ye could not, by the law of Moses, be justified, by this man, everyone that believeth, is justified.
40 Samalani kuti zimene aneneri akunena zisakuchitikireni inu:
Be taking heed, therefore, lest that come upon you which hath been spoken in the prophets—
41 “‘Onani, inu anthu onyoza, dabwani ndipo wonongekani, chifukwa ine ndidzachita china chake mʼmasiku anu, inu simudzazikhulupirira ngakhale wina atakufotokozerani!’”
See, ye despisers, and marvel, and disappear: in that, a work, am, I, working in your days, —a work, which in nowise will ye believe, though one relate it in full unto you.
42 Pamene Paulo ndi Barnaba amatuluka mʼSunagoge, anthu anawapempha kuti adzapitirize kuyankhula zinthu zimenezi Sabata linalo.
And, as they were going out, they kept on beseeching that, on the ensuing sabbath, might be spoken unto them these things.
43 Atatha mapemphero, Ayuda ambiri ndi anthu odzipereka otembenukira ku Chiyuda anatsatira Paulo ndi Barnaba, iwo anayankhula ndi anthuwo ndipo anawapempha kuti apitirire mʼchisomo cha Mulungu.
And, when the congregation was broken up, there followed many of the Jews, and of the devout proselytes, with Paul and Barnabas; who, indeed, in speaking unto them, went on persuading them to abide in the favour of God.
44 Pa Sabata linalo pafupifupi anthu onse a mu mzindawo anasonkhana kudzamva Mawu a Ambuye.
And, on the coming sabbath, almost all the city, was gathered together, to hear the word of God.
45 Pamene Ayuda anaona gulu la anthu, anachita nsanje ndipo anayankhula zamwano kutsutsana ndi zimene Paulo amanena.
But, the Jews, seeing, the multitudes, were filled with jealousy, —and began speaking against the things which, by Paul, were being spoken, defaming them.
46 Ndipo Paulo ndi Barnaba anawayankha molimba mtima kuti, “Ife tinayenera kuyankhula Mawu a Mulungu kwa inu poyamba. Popeza inu mwawakana ndi kudziyesa nokha osayenera moyo wosatha, ife tsopano tikupita kwa anthu a mitundu ina. (aiōnios )
And Paul and Barnabas, speaking boldly, said—Unto you, was it necessary, that the word of God should first be spoken: seeing ye are thrusting it from you, and, unworthy, are judging yourselves of the age-abiding life, lo! we turn unto the nations; (aiōnios )
47 Pakuti izi ndi zimene Ambuye anatilamula ife: “‘Ine ndakuyika iwe ukhale kuwunika kwa anthu a mitundu ina, kuti ukafikitse chipulumutso ku malekezero a dziko lapansi!’”
For so hath the Lord commanded us—I have set thee for a light of nations, that thou mayest be for salvation unto the end of the earth.
48 Anthu a mitundu ina atamva izi, anakondwa ndipo analemekeza Mawu Ambuye; ndipo onse amene anawasankha kuti alandire moyo osatha anakhulupirira. (aiōnios )
And they of the nations, hearing [this], began to rejoice, and to be glorifying God, and they believed—as many as had become disposed for life age-abiding. (aiōnios )
49 Mawu a Ambuye anafalikira mʼchigawo chonse.
And the word of the Lord went on to be carried through the whole country.
50 Koma Ayuda anawutsa mitima ya akazi otchuka opembedza Mulungu ndi akulu a mu mzindamo. Iwo anabweretsa mazunzo kwa Paulo ndi Barnaba ndipo anawathamangitsa mʼchigawo chawo.
But, the Jews, urged on the devout women of the higher class, and the chief men of the city, and roused up a persecution against Paul and Barnabas, —and thrust them out from their bounds.
51 Tsono iwo anasasa fumbi la ku mapazi awo powatsutsa, ndipo anapita ku Ikoniya.
But they, shaking off the dust of their feet against them, came into Iconium.
52 Ndipo ophunzira anadzazidwa ndi chimwemwe ndiponso ndi Mzimu Woyera.
And, the disciples, were filled with joy, and with Holy Spirit.
