3 Yohane 1
1 Ndine mkulu wampingo, kulembera: Gayo mnzanga wokondedwa, amene ndimamukonda mʼchoonadi.
The Elder, To the beloved Gaius, whom I sincerely love in truth:
2 Wokondedwa, ndimakupempherera kuti zako zonse zikuyendere bwino, ndikuti ukhale bwino mʼthupi mwako, monga momwe ulili moyo wako wauzimu.
Beloved, I pray that in all ways you may prosper and be in good health, just as I know that your soul prospers.
3 Ine ndinali ndi chimwemwe chachikulu pamene abale ena anafika nʼkundifotokozera za kukhulupirika kwako pa choonadi ndiponso mmene umayendera motsata choonadi.
For I rejoiced greatly when some brothers came and testified about the truth that is in you, as indeed you do walk in the truth.
4 Palibe chondikondweretsa kwambiri kuposa kumva kuti ana anga akukhala mʼchoonadi.
I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.
5 Wokondedwa, ndiwe wokhulupirika pa zimene ukuchitira abale, ngakhale kuti iwowo ndi alendo.
Beloved, you are acting faithfully in whatever you accomplish for the brothers and sisters, and especially when they are strangers.
6 Iwo anafotokozera mpingo za chikondi chako. Chonde uwathandize kupitiriza ulendo mʼnjira yokondweretsa Mulungu.
They have testified to your sincere love before the church. You will do well to send them on their way in a manner worthy of God,
7 Pakuti ananyamuka ulendo wawo chifukwa cha dzina la Ambuye, osalandira thandizo kwa osakhulupirira.
for they went out for the sake of the Name, accepting nothing from the heathen.
8 Ife tiyenera kumathandiza anthu oterewa, kuti tigwirizane nawo pa ntchito ya choonadi.
Therefore we ought to support such people, that we may be fellow workers with the truth.
9 Ndinalembera mpingo, koma Diotrefe, amene amafuna kukhala wotsogolera, sanafune kutimvera.
I wrote to the church, but Diotrephes, who loves to be first among them, doesn’t accept what we say.
10 Tsono ndikabwera ndidzakumbutsa zimene iye amachita. Iye amafalitsa nkhani zabodza zonena ife. Ndipo sakhutira ndi zimenezo, komanso iyeyo amakana kulandira abale. Komanso amaletsa amene akufuna kutero, ndipo amawachotsa mu mpingo.
For this reason, if I come, I will call attention to his deeds which he does, unjustly accusing us with wicked words. Not satisfied with this, he himself doesn’t receive the brothers and sisters, either, and he forbids those who desire to do so and puts them out of the church.
11 Wokondedwa, usatsatire zinthu zoyipa koma zinthu zabwino. Aliyense amene amachita zinthu zabwino ndi wochokera kwa Mulungu. Aliyense amene amachita zoyipa sanamuonepo Mulungu.
Beloved, don’t imitate what is evil, but what is good. The one who does good belongs to God; the one who does evil hasn’t seen God.
12 Aliyense akumuchitira umboni wabwino wa Demetriyo. Ngakhale choona chomwe chimamuchitira umboni, ndipo iweyo ukudziwa kuti umboni wathu ndi woona.
Demetrius has received a good testimony from everyone, and from the truth itself. We add our testimony, and you know that our testimony is true.
13 Ndili ndi zambiri zoti ndikulembereni, koma sindikufuna kuzilemba mʼkalata.
I had many things to write to you, but I would rather not write them to you with pen and ink;
14 Ndiyembekezera kufika kwanuko posachedwapa, ndipo tidzakambirana pamaso ndi pamaso. Mtendere ukhale nawe. Abwenzi anu kuno akupereka moni. Upereke moni kwa abwenzi onse mmodzimmodzi.
but I hope to see you soon, and we will speak face to face.
