2 Samueli 23

1 Nawa mawu otsiriza a Davide: “Mawu a Davide mwana wa Yese, mawu a munthu amene wakwezedwa ndi Wammwambamwamba, munthu wodzozedwa ndi Mulungu wa Yakobo, woyimba nyimbo za Israeli:

Now, these, are the last words of David, —The oracle of David, son of Jesse, Yea the oracle of The man raised up on high, The Anointed of the God of Jacob, the Delight of the Songs of Israel:

2 “Mzimu wa Yehova unayankhula kudzera mwa ine; mawu ake anali pakamwa panga.

The Spirit of Yahweh, spake in me, —And, his word, was on my tongue;

3 Mulungu wa Israeli anayankhula, Thanthwe la Israeli linati kwa ine: ‘Pamene munthu alamulira anthu mwachilungamo, pamene alamulira moopa Mulungu,

Said the God of Israel, Unto me, spake the Rock of Israel: —One Ruling over Men, A Righteous One, ruling in the reverence of God,

4 amakhala ngati kuwala kwa mmamawa, mmawa wopanda mitambo, monga kuwala pamene mvula yaleka kugwa imene imameretsa udzu mʼnthaka.’

Is even as the light of the morning when ariseth the sun, —A morning, without clouds, [As] from brightness, [and] from rain, the fresh shoots out of the earth.

5 “Kodi banja langa silolungama pamaso pa Mulungu? Kodi Iye sanachite pangano losatha ndi ine, lokonzedwa ndi lotetezedwa mbali zonse? Kodi sadzakwaniritsa chipulumutso changa, ndi kundipatsa chokhumba changa chilichonse?

When, not so, was my house with GOD, Then, a covenant age-abiding, he appointed me, Ordered in all things and guarded, Now that it is all my salvation and all my desire, Will he not make it shoot forth?

6 Koma anthu oyipa ndiwo ayenera kutayidwa kunja ngati minga, imene sitengedwa ndi manja.

But, as for the abandoned, like thorns to be tossed away are they all, —For, not with the hand, can they be taken;

7 Aliyense amene wayikhudza mingayo amayidula pogwiritsa ntchito chigwandali kapena ndodo ya mkondo; nayitentha pa moto.”

But, the man that would touch them, Must fence himself with iron, and the shaft of a spear, —Then, with fire, shall they be, consumed, on the spot!

8 Nawa mayina a ankhondo amphamvu a Davide: Yosebu-Basebeti wa ku Takemoni mkulu wa atsogoleri a ankhondo atatu. Iye anapha ndi mkondo ankhondo 800 nthawi imodzi.

These, are the names of the mighty men, who belonged to David, —The president a Tachmonite head of the charioteers, the same, was Adino the Eznite, for eight hundred, slain at one time.

9 Wotsatana naye anali Eliezara mwana wa Dodo Mwahohi. Monga mmodzi mwa ankhondo atatu amphamvu a Davide, iye anali ndi Davide pamene anazunza Afilisti amene anasonkhana ku Pasi-Damimu kuchita nkhondo. Kenaka ankhondo a Israeli anabwerera mʼmbuyo.

And, after him, Eleazar son of Dodo, son of Ahohi, —in the hero-class of mighty men, with David, when they reproached the Philistines, they were gathered together there to battle, but the men of Israel had gone up;

10 Koma iye anayima osasuntha ndipo anakantha Afilisti mpaka mkono wake unatopa ndipo unakanirira ku lupanga lake. Yehova anapereka chigonjetso chachikulu pa tsiku limenelo. Asilikali anabwerera kwa Eliezara, kukatenga katundu wa anthu ophedwa.

he, however, arose and smote among the Philistines until his hand was weary, and his hand clave unto his sword, so Yahweh wrought a great victory on that day, —the people, coming back after him, only to strip the slain.

11 Wotsatana naye anali Sama mwana wa Age Mharari. Pamene Afilisti anasonkhana pamalo pamene panali munda wa mphodza, ankhondo a Israeli anathawa Afilistiwo.

And, after him, Shammah son of Agee, the Hararite, —and, when the Philistines were gathered together into a troop, there being at hand an allotment of field-land full of lentils, but, the people, having fled from the face of the Philistines,

12 Koma Sama anayima pakati pa mundawo. Iye anawuteteza nakantha Afilistiwo ndipo Yehova anawapambanitsa koposa.

then took he his stand in the midst of the allotment, and defended it, and smote the Philistines, —and Yahweh wrought a great victory.

13 Pa nthawi yokolola, atatu mwa atsogoleri makumi atatu anabwera kwa Davide ku phanga la Adulamu, pamene gulu la Afilisti linali litamanga misasa mʼchigwa cha Refaimu.

And three of the thirty chiefs descended, and came in, towards harvest, unto David, unto the cave of Adullam, —although, a troop of Philistines, were encamped in the vale of Rephaim;

14 Nthawi imeneyo Davide anali mu linga, ndipo boma la Afilisti linali ku Betelehemu.

and, David, then was in a stronghold, —and, a garrison of Philistines, was then in Bethlehem.

15 Davide analakalaka madzi ndipo anati, “Haa, pakanapezeka munthu wokanditungira madzi a mʼchitsime chomwe chili pafupi ndi chipata cha ku Betelehemu!”

And David longed, and said, —Who will give me to drink water out of the well of Bethlehem, that is within the gate?

16 Choncho anthu amphamvu atatuwa anadutsa mizere ya Afilisti, natunga madzi amene anali mʼchitsime chomwe chinali pafupi ndi chipata cha ku Betelehemu nabwera nawo kwa Davide. Koma iye anakana kumwa. Mʼmalo mwake anathira pansi pamaso pa Yehova.

And the three mighty men brake through the camp of Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem, that was within the gate, and bare it, and brought it in unto David, —yet would he not drink, but poured it out unto Yahweh,

17 Iye anati, “Inu Yehova, musalole kuti ine ndichite chinthu ichi! Kodi awa si magazi a anthu amene anayika miyoyo yawo pachiswe?” Ndipo Davide sanamwe madziwo. Zimenezi ndi zimene anachita anthu amphamvu atatuwo.

and said—Be it far from me, O Yahweh, that I should do this! is it not the blood of the men who went with their lives [in their hands]? So he would not drink it. These things, did the three mighty men.

18 Abisai mʼbale wa Yowabu mwana wa Zeruya ndiye anali mtsogoleri wa anthu atatuwa. Iye anapha ndi mkondo ankhondo 300, choncho iyeyo anali wotchuka pakati pa anthu atatu aja.

And. Abishai brother of Joab son of Zeruiah, he, was chief of three, in that he brandished his spear against three hundred whom he slew; and, he, had a name among three.

19 Kodi iyeyo sanali wolemekezeka koposa? Iye anakhala mtsogoleri wawo ngakhale kuti sanali mʼgulu la anthu atatu aja.

Was he not most honourable, of the three, and so became their captain? Nevertheless, unto the three, he attained not.

20 Benaya mwana wa Yehoyada wa ku Kabizeeli anali munthu wolimba mtima amene anachita zinthu zamphamvu. Iye anakantha ankhondo awiri otchuka a ku Mowabu. Tsiku lina kukuzizira kwambiri, iye analowa mʼdzenje ndi kuphamo mkango.

Benaiah also, son of Jehoiadah, son of an active man, hero of many a deed, a man of Kabzeel, he, smote the two sons of Ariel of Moab, he, also went down and smote a lion in the midst of a pit, on a day of snow;

21 Ndipo iye anakanthanso Mwigupto wamkulu msinkhu. Ngakhale kuti Mwiguptoyo anali ndi mkondo mʼdzanja mwake, Benaya anapita kukamenyana naye ali ndi chibonga chokha mʼmanja. Iye analanda mkondo mʼdzanja la Mwiguptoyo ndi kumupha ndi mkondo wake womwe.

he, also smote an Egyptian, who was of valiant bearing, and, in the hand of the Egyptian, was a spear, but he went down unto him with a staff, —and wrested the spear out of the hand of the Egyptian, and slew him with his own spear.

22 Izi ndi zamphamvu zimene Benaya mwana wa Yehoyada anachita. Iyeyo analinso wotchuka ngati anthu atatu amphamvu aja.

These things, did Benaiah son of Jehoiada, and, he, had a name among three mighty men.

23 Iye ankalemekezedwa kuposa wina aliyense mwa anthu makumi atatu aja, koma sanali mʼgulu la anthu atatu aja. Ndipo Davide anamuyika kukhala woyangʼanira asilikali omuteteza.

He was the most honourable, of thirty, although, unto the three, he attained no, —so David added him to his council.

24 Mʼgulu la anthu makumi atatu aja munalinso awa: Asaheli mʼbale wa Yowabu, Elihanani mwana wa Dodo wa ku Betelehemu,

Asahel, brother of Joab, was among the thirty, —Elhanan, son of Dodo, of Bethlehem;

25 Sama Mharodi, Elika Mherodi,

Shammah, the Harodite; Elika, the Harodite;

26 Helezi Mpaliti, Ira mwana wa Ikesi wa ku Tekowa,

Helez, the Paltite, Ira, son of Ikkesh, the Tekoite;

27 Abiezeri wa ku Anatoti, Sibekai Mhusati,

Abiezer, the Anathothite, Mebunnai, the Hushathite;

28 Zalimoni Mwahohi, Maharai Mnetofa,

Zalmon, the Ahohite, Maharai, the Netophathite;

29 Heledi mwana wa Baana Mnetofa, Itai mwana wa Ribai wa ku Gibeya ku Benjamini,

Heleb, son of Baanah, the Netophathite, —Ittai, son of Ribai, of Gibeah, of the sons of Benjamin;

30 Benaya Mpiratoni, Hidayi wa ku zigwa za Gaasi.

Benaiah, a Pirathonite, Hiddai, of the torrents of Gaash;

31 Abi-Aliboni Mwaribati, Azimaveti Mbarihumi,

Abi-albon, the Arbathite, Azmaveth, the Barhumite;

32 Eliyahiba Msaaliboni, ana a Yaseni, Yonatani,

Eliahba, the Shaalbonite, (Of) the sons of Jashen, Jonathan;

33 mwana wa Sama Mharari, Ahiamu mwana wa Sarari Mharari,

Shammah, the Hararite, Ahiam, son of Sharar, the Ararite;

34 Elifeleti mwana wa Ahasibai Mmaakati, Eliamu mwana wa Ahitofele Mgiloni,

Eliphelet, son of Ahasbai, son of the Maacathite. Eliam, son of Ahithophel, the Gilonite.

35 Heziro wa ku Karimeli, Paarai Mwaribi,

Hezro, the Carmelite, Paarai, the Arbite;

36 Igala mwana wa Natani wa ku Zoba, mwana wa Hagiri,

Igal, son of Nathan, of Zobah, Bani, the Gadite;

37 Zeleki Mwamoni, Naharai wa ku Beeroti, mnyamata wonyamula zida za Yowabu mwana wa Zeruya,

Zelek, the Ammonite, —Naharai, the Beerothite, armour bearers to Joab son of Zeruiah;

38 Ira Mwitiri, Garebu Mwitiri,

Ira, the Ithrite, Gareb, the Ithrite;

39 ndi Uriya Mhiti. Onse pamodzi analipo 37.
