1 Yehosafati, mfumu ya Yuda itabwerera mwamtendere ku nyumba yake yaufumu ku Yerusalemu,
And Jehoshaphat the king of Judah returned to his house in peace to Jerusalem.
2 mlosi Yehu, mwana wa Hanani, anatuluka kukakumana naye ndipo anati kwa mfumu, “Kodi nʼkoyenera kuthandiza oyipa ndi kukonda iwo amene amadana ndi Yehova? Chifukwa cha zimenezi mkwiyo wa Yehova uli pa inu.
And Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him, and said to king Jehoshaphat, Shouldest thou help the ungodly, and love them that hate Yhwh? therefore is wrath upon thee from before Yhwh.
3 Komabe, muli zinthu zina zabwino mwa inu, pakuti inu mwachotsa mʼdziko muno mafano a Asera ndipo mwakhazikitsa mtima wanu pa kufunafuna Mulungu.”
Nevertheless there are good things found in thee, in that thou hast taken away the groves out of the land, and hast prepared thine heart to seek God.
4 Yehosafati anakakhala ku Yerusalemu, ndipo amayenda pakati pa anthu kuchokera ku Beeriseba mpaka ku dziko lamapiri la Efereimu ndipo anawatembenuzira kwa Yehova, Mulungu wa makolo awo.
And Jehoshaphat dwelt at Jerusalem: and he went out again through the people from Beer–sheba to mount Ephraim, and brought them back unto Yhwh God of their fathers.
5 Iye anasankha oweruza mʼdzikomo, mu mzinda uliwonse wotetezedwa wa Yuda.
And he set judges in the land throughout all the fenced cities of Judah, city by city,
6 Ndipo anawawuza kuti, “Muganize bwino zimene mukuchita, chifukwa simukuweruza mʼmalo mwa munthu koma Yehova, amene ali nanu pamene mukupereka chiweruzo.
And said to the judges, Take heed what ye do: for ye judge not for man, but for Yhwh, who is with you in the judgment.
7 Tsopano kuopsa kwa Yehova kukhale pa inu. Muweruze mosamala, pakuti ndi Yehova Mulungu wathu palibe kupotoza chilungamo kapena kukondera kapenanso kulandira ziphuphu.”
Wherefore now let the fear of Yhwh be upon you; take heed and do it: for there is no iniquity with Yhwh our God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of gifts.
8 Mu Yerusalemu, Yehosafati anasankha Alevi ena, ansembe ndi atsogoleri a mabanja a Aisraeli kuti aziyangʼanira Malamulo a Yehova ndi kuweruza milandu. Ndipo iwo amakhala mu Yerusalemu.
Moreover in Jerusalem did Jehoshaphat set of the Levites, and of the priests, and of the chief of the fathers of Israel, for the judgment of Yhwh, and for controversies, when they returned to Jerusalem.
9 Iye anawalamula kuti, “Inu mutumikire mokhulupirika ndi mtima wanu wonse moopa Yehova.
And he charged them, saying, Thus shall ye do in the fear of Yhwh, faithfully, and with a perfect heart.
10 Pa mlandu uliwonse wobwera kwa inu kuchokera kwa abale anu amene amakhala mʼmizinda, mlandu wokhetsa magazi kapena mlandu wosamvera malamulo kapena malangizo kapena ziphunzitso zina, inu muziwachenjeza kuti asachimwire Yehova pakuti mukapanda kutero mkwiyo wake udzakhala pa inu ndi abale anu. Chitani zimenezi ndipo simudzachimwa.
And what cause soever shall come to you of your brethren that dwell in their cities, between blood and blood, between law and commandment, statutes and judgments, ye shall even warn them that they trespass not against Yhwh, and so wrath come upon you, and upon your brethren: this do, and ye shall not trespass.
11 “Amariya, mkulu wa ansembe adzakhala wokuyangʼanirani pa zonse zokhudza Yehova, ndipo Zebadiya mwana wa Ismaeli, mtsogoleri wa fuko la Yuda, adzakhala wokuyangʼanirani pa zonse zokhudza mfumu ndipo Alevi adzatumikira ngati okuyangʼanirani. Muchite molimba mtima ndipo Yehova akhale ndi iwo amene adzachita bwino.”
And, behold, Amariah the chief priest is over you in all matters of Yhwh; and Zebadiah the son of Ishmael, the ruler of the house of Judah, for all the king’s matters: also the Levites shall be officers before you. Deal courageously, And Yhwh shall be with the good.
