1 Atesalonika 5
1 Tsono abale, za nthawi ndi nyengo yake nʼkosafunikira kuti tikulembereni,
However, concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I write to you:
2 chifukwa mukudziwa bwino lomwe kuti tsiku la Ambuye lidzafika ngati mbala usiku.
for yourselves know perfectly, that the day of the Lord comes as a thief in the night.
3 Pamene anthu akunena kuti, “Mtendere ndi chitetezo,” chiwonongeko chidzafika pa iwo mwadzidzidzi, monga zowawa za amayi pobereka, ndipo sadzathawa.
When they shall say, Peace and safety, then sudden destruction comes upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
4 Koma inu abale, simuli mu mdima kuti tsiku limeneli lidzakudzidzimutseni ngati mbala.
But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should come upon you like a thief.
5 Nonse ndinu ana a kuwunika ndi ana a usana. Sindife anthu a usiku kapena mdima.
You are all sons of light, and sons of day: we are not sons of night, nor of darkness.
6 Chomwecho tsono, tisafanane ndi ena amene akugona koma tikhale maso ndi odzisunga.
Therefore, let us not sleep, even as others; but let us watch and be sober.
7 Pakuti amene akugona, amagona usiku, ndi amene amaledzera, amaledzera usiku.
For they who sleep, sleep in the night; and they who get drunk, get drunk in the night.
8 Koma popeza ndife a usana, tikhale odzisunga, titavala chikhulupiriro ndi chikondi ngati chovala pachifuwa, ndi chiyembekezo cha chipulumutso ngati chipewa.
But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for a helmet, the hope of salvation.
9 Pakuti Mulungu sanatisankhe kuti tikavutike ndi mkwiyo koma kuti tilandire chipulumutso kudzera mwa Ambuye athu Yesu Khristu.
For God has appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation, through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we may live together, with him.
10 Iye anatifera ndi cholinga chakuti, kaya tili ndi moyo kapena tagona, tikhale naye pamodzi.
Wherefore, comfort one another, and edify each other, even as also you do.
11 Choncho limbikitsanani wina ndi mnzake ndi kuthandizana kukula mu mzimu, monga momwe mukuchitira.
Wherefore, comfort one another, and edify each other, even as also you do.
12 Tsopano tikukupemphani abale kuti muziwalemekeza amene akugwira ntchito pakati panu, amene amakuyangʼanirani mwa Ambuye ndi amene amakulimbikitsani.
Now, we beseech you, brethren, to acknowledge them who labor among you, and who preside over you in the Lord, and instruct you;
13 Muziwachitira ulemu kwambiri mwachikondi chifukwa cha ntchito yawo. Mukhale pa mtendere wina ndi mnzake.
and to esteem them very highly in love for their works' sake. Be at peace among yourselves.
14 Ndipo tikukupemphani abale, muwachenjeze amene akungokhala osagwira ntchito, alimbikitseni amanyazi, thandizani ofowoka ndipo muzilezera mtima aliyense.
Moreover, we exhort you, brethren, admonish the disorderly, comfort the faint-hearted, support the weak, be of a long-suffering disposition toward all.
15 Onetsetsani kuti wina asabwezere choyipa kwa omuchitira choyipa koma nthawi zonse yesetsani kukhala okoma mtima kwa wina ndi mnzake; ndiponso ndi kwa anthu ena onse.
Take care that no one return evil for evil to any one, but always pursue what is good, both toward one another and toward all.
16 Kondwerani nthawi zonse.
Rejoice always.
17 Pempherani kosalekeza.
Pray without ceasing.
18 Yamikani mu zonse, pakuti ichi ndi chifuniro cha Mulungu kwa inu mwa Khristu Yesu.
In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God, by Christ Jesus, concerning you.
19 Musazimitse moto wa Mzimu Woyera.
Quench not the Spirit.
20 Musanyoze mawu a uneneri.
Despise not prophesying.
21 Yesani zinthu zonse. Gwiritsitsani chimene ndi chabwino.
Prove all things. Hold fast that which is good.
22 Mupewe choyipa cha mtundu wina uliwonse.
Abstain from all appearance of evil.
23 Mulungu mwini, Mulungu wamtendere, akuyeretseni kotheratu. Mzimu wanu wonse, moyo ndi thupi zisungidwe zopanda cholakwa mpaka kubwera kwa Ambuye athu Yesu Khristu.
And may the God of peace himself sanctify you wholly; and may your whole person, the spirit, and the soul, and the body, be preserved unblamable, till the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
24 Amene anakuyitanani ndi wokhulupirika ndipo Iye adzachita zimenezi.
Faithful is he who has called you; who also will do it.
25 Abale, mutipempherere.
Brethren, pray for us.
26 Perekani moni wachikondi kwa onse.
Salute all the brethren with a holy kiss.
27 Pamaso pa Ambuye ndikulamula kuti kalatayi iwerengedwe kwa abale onse.
I solemnly charge you by the Lord, that this epistle be read to all the holy brethren.
28 Chisomo cha Ambuye athu Yesu Khristu chikhale nanu.
The favor of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
