1 Ndine Petro, mtumwi wa Yesu Khristu. Ndikulemba kalatayi kwa onse osankhidwa ndi Mulungu, alendo mʼdziko lapansi, obalalikira ku Ponto, Galatiya, Kapadokiya, Asiya ndi Bituniya.
Peter an apostle of Jesus Christ to the strangers who are dispersed through Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia,
2 Mulungu Atate anakusankhani, atakudziwani kuyambira pachiyambi, ndipo Mzimu Woyera wakuyeretsani kuti mumvere Yesu Khristu ndikutsukidwa ndi magazi ake. Chisomo ndi mtendere zikhale ndi inu mochuluka.
Asia, and Bithynia, chosen according to the fore-knowledge of God, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience, and to the sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ, ---may grace and peace be multiplied unto you.
3 Alemekezedwe Mulungu, Atate wa Ambuye athu Yesu Khristu. Mwachifundo chake chachikulu anatibadwitsa kwatsopano, mʼchiyembekezo chamoyo pomuukitsa Yesu Khristu kwa akufa,
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his abundant mercy hath regenerated us to a lively hope, by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
4 kuti tidzalandire chuma chomwe sichingawonongeke, kuyipitsidwa kapena kufota. Chuma chimenechi akukusungirani kumwamba.
to an inheritance incorruptible, undefiled, and unfading, reserved in heaven for you,
5 Mwachikhulupiriro, mukusungidwa ndi mphamvu ya Mulungu mpaka chipulumutso chitafika chimene chinakonzedwa kuti adzachionetse nthawi yotsiriza.
who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
6 Zimenezi zikukondweretseni kwambiri, ngakhale tsopano, kwa kanthawi kochepa, mukumva zowawa mʼmayesero osiyanasiyana.
In which ye rejoice, tho' now for a little while, if need be, ye are grieved through various trials.
7 Mayeserowa abwera nʼcholinga chakuti chikhulupiriro chanu, chimene ndi chamtengo woposa wa golide, amene amawonongeka ngakhale amayengedwa ndi moto, chitsimikizike kuti ndi chenicheni. Pamenepo ndiye mudzalandire mayamiko, ulemerero ndi ulemu pamene Yesu Khristu adzaoneka.
That the proof of your faith, which is much more precious than of gold, (that perisheth, though tried by fire) may be found unto praise, and honor, and glory, when Jesus Christ shall be revealed:
8 Ngakhale kuti simunamuone, mumamukonda; ndipo ngakhale kuti simukumuona tsopano, mumamukhulupirira ndipo mumakondwera ndi chimwemwe chachikulu ndi chosaneneka.
whom having not seen ye love; in whom, though now ye see Him not, yet believing ye rejoice with joy ineffable and full of glory; receiving the end of your faith,
9 Motero mukulandira mphotho ya chikhulupiriro chanu, ndiyo chipulumutso cha moyo wanu.
even the salvation of your souls:
10 Kunena za chipulumutso chimenechi, aneneri amene ananeneratu za chisomo chimene chimabwera kwa inu, anafunafuna mofufuzafufuza za chipulumutsochi,
concerning which salvation the prophets, who prophesied of the grace to be conferred on you, enquired and diligently sought after it:
11 kufuna kudziwa nthawi ndi momwe zidzachitikire zinthu zimene Mzimu wa Khristu amene ali mwa iwo ankanenera za kuvutika kwa Khristu, ndi ulemerero umene adzakhale nawo pambuyo pake.
searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ in them did declare in testifying beforehand the sufferings that were to come upon Christ, and the glories following them:
12 Mulungu anawawululira kuti ntchito yawoyo sankayigwira chifukwa cha iwo eni, koma chifukwa inu, pamene iwo ankayankhula zinthu zimene mwamva tsopano kuchokera kwa amene amalalikira Uthenga Wabwino mwamphamvu ya Mzimu Woyera wotumidwa kuchokera kumwamba. Ngakhale angelo amalakalaka kuona nawo zinthuzi.
to whom it was revealed, that it was not to themselves, but to us they ministered these things, which are now declared unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you, through the holy Spirit sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.
13 Choncho konzani mtima wanu, khalani odziretsa; khazikitsani chiyembekezo chanu kotheratu pa chisomo chimene mudzapatsidwe pamene Yesu Khristu adzaonekera.
Wherefore girding up the loins of your mind, be sober, and stedfastly hope for the grace to be conferred upon you at the appearing of Jesus Christ;
14 Monga ana omvera, musatsatenso zilakolako zoyipa zomwe munali nazo pamene munali osadziwa.
as children of obedience, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts in your ignorance:
15 Koma monga amene anakuyitanani ndi woyera, inunso khalani oyera mtima mʼmakhalidwe anu wonse.
but as He who hath called you is holy, be ye also holy in all your conversation: since it is written,
16 Pakuti, kwalembedwa kuti, “Khalani oyera mtima, chifukwa Ine ndine Woyera.”
Be ye holy, for I am holy.
17 Popeza mumapemphera kwa Atate amene amaweruza munthu aliyense mopanda tsankho molingana ndi zochita zake, pa nthawi imene muli alendo pa dziko lapansi khalani moopa Mulungu.
And if ye call upon the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:
18 Pakuti mukudziwa kuti simunawomboledwe ndi zinthu zimene zimawonongeka monga siliva kapena golide, kuchoka ku khalidwe lanu lachabe limene munalandira kwa makolo anu.
knowing that ye were redeemed from your vain conversation learned by tradition from your fathers, not with corruptible things, as silver and gold;
19 Koma munawomboledwa ndi magazi a mtengowapatali a Khristu, Mwana Wankhosa wopanda banga kapena chilema.
but with the precious blood of Christ as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
20 Iye anasankhidwa lisanalengedwe dziko lapansi, koma waonetsedwa chifukwa cha inu pa nthawi ino yotsiriza.
who was indeed appointed before the foundation of the world, but manifested in these last times, for your sakes,
21 Kudzera mwa Iye mumakhulupirira Mulungu, amene anamuukitsa kwa akufa namupatsa ulemerero. Nʼchifukwa chake chikhulupiriro ndi chiyembekezo chanu chili mwa Mulungu.
who through Him trust in God that raised Him from the dead, and gave Him glory, that your faith and hope might be fixed in God.
22 Tsopano mwayeretsa mitima yanu pomvera choonadi, kuti muzikondana ndi abale anu, kukondana kwenikweni kochokera pansi pa mtima.
Having therefore purified your souls by obedience to the truth, through the Spirit, to brotherly love unfeigned, love one another with a pure heart fervently:
23 Popeza mwabadwanso, osati ndi mbewu imene imawonongeka, koma imene siwonongeka, ndiye kuti ndi Mawu a Mulungu amoyo ndi okhalitsa. (aiōn g165)
being regenerated not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God which liveth and abideth for ever. (aiōn g165)
24 Pakuti, “Anthu onse ali ngati udzu, ndipo ulemerero wawo uli ngati duwa la kuthengo. Udzu umafota ndipo duwa limathothoka,
For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass: the grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away;
