< 1 Yohane 4 >
1 Anzanga okondedwa, musakhulupirire mzimu uliwonse, koma yesani mizimu ngati ikuchokera kwa Mulungu, chifukwa aneneri onama ambiri afalikira mʼdziko lapansi.
Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but put the spirits to the test to see whether they are from God; for many false teachers have gone out into the world.
2 Mungathe kuzindikira Mzimu wa Mulungu motere: Mzimu uliwonse umene umavomereza kuti Yesu Khristu anabwera mʼthupi, ndi wochokera kwa Mulungu,
The test by which you may recognize the Spirit of God is that every spirit which acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come as man is from God,
3 koma mzimu uliwonse umene suvomereza Yesu, siwochokera kwa Mulungu. Uwu ndi mzimu wa wokana Khristu umene munawumva kuti ukubwera ndipo ngakhale tsopano wabwera kale mʼdziko lapansi.
and that no spirit is from God which does not acknowledge this about Jesus. Such is the spirit of the anti-Christ; of whose coming you have heard, and it is already in the world.
4 Inu ana okondedwa, ndinu ochokera kwa Mulungu ndipo mwawagonjetsa aneneri onyengawa, chifukwa Iye amene ali mwa inu ndi wamkulu kuposa amene ali mʼdziko lapansi.
As for you, dear children, you are God's children, and have successfully resisted them; for greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.
5 Aneneri onyengawa ndi ochokera mʼdziko lapansi, nʼchifukwa chake amayankhula za dziko lapansi, ndipo dziko lapansi limawamvera.
They are the world's children, and so their language is that of the world, and the world listens to them. We are God's children.
6 Ife ndi ochokera kwa Mulungu, ndipo aliyense amene amadziwa Mulungu amamvera zimene timayankhula. Koma aliyense amene sachokera kwa Mulungu samvera zimene timayankhula. Mmenemu ndiye mmene timasiyanitsira pakati pa mzimu wachoonadi ndi Mzimu wachinyengo.
The man who is beginning to know God listens to us, but he who is not a child of God does not listen to us. By this test we can distinguish the Spirit of truth from the spirit of error.
7 Anzanga okondedwa, tiyeni tikondane wina ndi mnzake, pakuti chikondi chimachokera kwa Mulungu. Aliyense amene ali ndi chikondi ndi mwana wa Mulungu ndipo amadziwa Mulungu.
Dear friends, let us love one another; for love has its origin in God, and every one who loves has become a child of God and is beginning to know God.
8 Aliyense amene alibe chikondi sadziwa Mulungu, chifukwa Mulungu ndiye chikondi.
He who is destitute of love has never had any knowledge of God; because God is love.
9 Mmene Mulungu anaonetsera chikondi chake pakati pathu ndi umu: Iye anatumiza Mwana wake mmodzi yekha ku dziko lapansi kuti mwa Iyeyo tikhale ndi moyo.
God's love for us has been manifested in that He has sent His only Son into the world so that we may have Life through Him.
10 Chikondi ndi ichi: osati kuti ife ndife amene tinamukonda Mulungu, koma kuti Iyeyo ndiye amene anatikonda ndipo anatumiza Mwana wake kuti akhale nsembe yopepesera machimo athu.
This is love indeed--we did not love God, but He loved us and sent His Son to be an atoning sacrifice for our sins.
11 Anzanga okondedwa, popeza Mulungu anatikonda chotere, ifenso tiyenera kukondana wina ndi mnzake.
Dear friends, if God has so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
12 Palibe amene anaonapo Mulungu, koma tikakondana wina ndi mnzake, ndiye kuti Mulungu amakhala mwa ife ndipo chikondi chake chafika pachimake penipeni mwa ife.
No one has ever yet seen God. If we love one another, God continues in union with us, and His love in all its perfection is in our hearts.
13 Ife tikudziwa kuti timakhala mwa Iye ndipo Iyeyo amakhala mwa ife chifukwa anatipatsa Mzimu wake.
We can know that we are continuing in union with Him and that He is continuing in union with us, by the fact that He has given us a portion of His Spirit.
14 Ndipo taona ndipo tikuchitira umboni, kuti Atate anatuma Mwana wake kuti akhale Mpulumutsi wa dziko lapansi.
And we have seen and bear witness that the Father has sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.
15 Ngati aliyense avomereza kuti Yesu ndi Mwana wa Mulungu, Mulungu amakhala mwa iye ndipo iyeyo amakhala mwa Mulungu.
Whoever acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God--God continues in union with him, and he continues in union with God.
16 Tikudziwa ndipo timadalira chikondi chimene Mulungu ali nacho pa ife. Mulungu ndiye chikondi. Aliyense amene amakhala moyo wachikondi, ali mwa Mulungu ndipo Mulungu amakhala mwa iye.
And, as for us, we know the love which God has for us, and we confide in it. God is love, and he who continues to love continues in union with God, and God continues in union with him.
17 Chikondi chafika pachimake penipeni pakati pathu, kotero kuti pa tsiku lachiweruzo tidzakhala olimba mtima chifukwa mʼdziko lapansi moyo wathu uli ngati wa Khristu.
Our love will be manifested in all its perfection by our having complete confidence on the day of the Judgement; because just what He is, we also are in the world.
18 Mulibe mantha mʼchikondi. Koma chikondi ndi changwiro chimachotsa mantha, chifukwa mantha amabwera chifukwa choopa chilango. Munthu amene ali ndi mantha, chikondi chake sichangwiro.
Love has in it no element of fear; but perfect love drives away fear, because fear involves pain, and if a man gives way to fear, there is something imperfect in his love.
19 Ife timakonda Mulungu chifukwa ndiye anayamba kutikonda.
We love because God first loved us.
20 Ngati wina anena kuti, “Ine ndimakonda Mulungu,” koma namadana ndi mʼbale wake ndi wabodza ameneyo. Pakuti aliyense amene sakonda mʼbale wake, amene akumuona, sangathenso kukonda Mulungu amene sanamuone.
If any one says that he loves God, while he hates his brother man, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother man whom he has seen, cannot love God whom he has not seen.
21 Ndipo Iye anatipatsa lamulo lakuti: Aliyense amene amakonda Mulungu ayenera kukondanso mʼbale wake.
And the command which we have from Him is that he who loves God must love his brother man also.
