And the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel, for, he, was the firstborn, but because he defiled the couch of his father, his birthright was given to the sons of Joseph son of Israel, —and he is not to be enrolled in the place of firstborn,

the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel, Hanoch and Pallu, Hezron and Carmi.
4 Ana a Yoweli anali awa: Semaya, Gogi, Simei,
The sons of Joel, Shemaiah his son, Gog his son, Shimei his son;
5 Mika, Reaya, Baala,
Micah his son, Reaiah his son, Baal his son;
6 ndiponso Beeri, amene Tigilati-Pileseri mfumu ya Asuri anamugwira ukapolo. Mtsogoleri wa fuko la Rubeni anali Beeri.
Beerah his son, whom Tilgath-pilneser king of Assyria carried away captive, —he, was a leader to the Reubenites;

and Bela, the son of Azaz, the son of Shema, the son of Joel, —he, dwelt in Aroer, even as far as Nebo, and Baal-meon;
9 Iwo anakhala cha kummawa mpaka kukafika polowera mʼchipululu cha mbali ina ya Mtsinje wa Yufurate, chifukwa ziweto zawo zinaswana kwambiri mʼdziko la Giliyadi.
and, eastward, dwelt he as far as the entering in of the desert, from the river Euphrates, —because, their cattle, were multiplied in the land of Gilead;
10 Pa nthawi ya Sauli anachita nkhondo ndi Ahagiri ndi kuwagonjetsa. Tsono iwo anakhala mʼmatenti a Ahagiri ku dera lonse la kummawa kwa Giliyadi.
and, in the days of Saul, they made war with the Hagrites, who fell by their hand, —so they dwelt in their tents, over all the face of the land east of Gilead.
11 Anthu a fuko la Gadi anakhala moyandikana ndi fuko la Rubeni ku Basani mpaka ku Saleka:
And, the sons of Gad, over against them, dwelt, in the land of Bashan, as far as Salecah:
12 Mtsogoleri wawo ku Basani anali Yoweli, wachiwiri anali Safamu, kenaka Yanayi ndi Safati.
Joel the chief, and Shapham, the second, —and Janai and Shaphat, in Bashan;
13 Abale awo mwa mabanja awo anali awa: Mikayeli, Mesulamu, Seba, Yorayi, Yakani, Ziya ndi Eberi, onse ali asanu ndi awiri.
and their brethren of their ancestral house, Michael and Meshullam and Sheba and Jorai and Jacan and Zia and Eber, seven.
14 Amenewa ndiwo anali ana a Abihaili, mwana wa Huri, mwana wa Yarowa, mwana wa Giliyadi, mwana wa Mikayeli, mwana wa Yesisayi, mwana wa Yahido, mwana wa Buzi.
These, were the sons of Abihail, son of Huri, son of Jaroah, son of Gilead, son of Michael, son of Jehishai, son of Jahdo, son of Buz,
15 Ahi mwana wa Abdieli, mwana wa Guni, anali mtsogoleri wa banja la makolo awo.
Ahi son of Abdiel, son of Guni, chief of their ancestral house;
16 Fuko la Gadi linakhala ku Giliyadi, ku Basani ndi midzi yozugulira, madera onse a msipu a ku Saroni mpaka kumene amalekezera.
and they dwelt in Gilead—in Bashan, and in her villages, —and in all the pasture-lands of Sharon, up to their outgoings.
17 Mayina onsewa analembedwa potsata mndandanda wa mibado yawo pa nthawi ya ulamuliro wa Yotamu mfumu ya Yuda ndi Yeroboamu mfumu ya Israeli.
All of them, were genealogically registered in the days of Jotham king of Judah, —and in the days of Jeroboam king of Israel.
18 Mafuko a Rubeni, Gadi ndi theka la Manase, anali ndi anthu 44, 760 okonzeka kulowa usilikali; anthu amatupi amphamvu, amene amatha kugwiritsa ntchito chishango ndi lupanga, amene amatha kugwiritsa ntchito uta, amene anaphunzitsidwa kumenya nkhondo.
the sons of Reuben and Gad, and half tribe of Manasseh, of the sons of valour, men bearing shield and sword and bending the bow, and instructed in war, were forty-four thousand and seven hundred and sixty, ready to go forth in the host.

and were helped against them, and the Hagrites and all that were with them were delivered into their hand, —for, unto God, made they outcry, in the war, and he suffered himself to be entreated by them, because they put their trust in him;

23 Theka la fuko la Manase linkakhala ku dziko la kummawa kuyambira ku Basani mpaka ku Baala-Herimoni, kumene ndi ku Seniri (Phiri la Herimoni) ndipo anthuwo anali ochuluka kwambiri.
And, the sons of the half tribe of Manasseh, dwelt in the land, —from Bashan, as far as to Baal-hermon and Senir and Mount Hermon, they, were multiplied.
24 Atsogoleri a mabanja awo anali awa: Eferi, Isi, Elieli, Azirieli, Yeremiya, Hodaviya ndi Yahidieli. Iwo anali asilikali olimba mtima, anthu otchuka, ndiponso atsogoleri a mabanja awo.
And, these, were the heads of their ancestral house, —Epher and Ishi and Eliel and Azriel and Jeremiah and Hodaviah and Jahdiel, men who were heroes of valour, men of renown, chiefs to their ancestral house.

But they dealt unfaithfully with the God of their fathers, —and went unchastely after the gods of the peoples of the land, whom God destroyed from before them;
26 Kotero Mulungu wa Israeli anayika mkwiyo mwa Puli mfumu ya Asuri (ameneyu ndi Tigilati-Pileseri mfumu ya Asuri) amene anatenga fuko la Rubeni, Gadi ndi theka la fuko la Manase kupita nawo ku ukapolo. Iye anapita nawo ku Hala, Habori, Hara ndi ku mtsinje wa Gozani, kumene ali mpaka lero lino.
so the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria, and the spirit of Tilgath-pilneser king of Assyria, and he took them away captive, even the Reubenites and the Gadites and the half tribe of Manasseh, —and brought them in unto Halah, and Habor, and Hara, and to the river of Gozan, unto this day.
