1 Uwu ndi mndandanda wa Aisraeli, atsogoleri a mabanja, olamulira asilikali 1,000, olamulira asilikali 100 ndi akuluakulu awo, amene ankatumikira mfumu mʼzonse zokhudza magulu a ankhondo, amene amagwira ntchito mwezi ndi mwezi chaka chonse. Gulu lililonse linali ndi anthu 24,000.

Now, the sons of Israel—as to the number of them, the ancestral chiefs—and rulers of thousands and hundreds, and their officers who waited upon the king as to any matter of the courses, who came in and went out month by month, for all the months of the year, in each course, were twenty-four thousand.

Over the first course, for the first month, was Jashobeam, son of Zabdiel, —and, in his course, were twenty-four thousand.

3 Iyeyu anali chidzukulu cha Perezi ndipo anali mkulu wa atsogoleri onse a ankhondo mwezi woyamba.

Of the sons of Perez, was the chief for all the rulers of the hosts, for the first month.

4 Amene amalamulira gulu lachiwiri pa mwezi wachiwiri anali Dodai Mwahohi; Mikiloti ndiye anali mtsogoleri wa gulu lake. Pa gulu lake panali asilikali 24,000.

And, over the course for the second month, was Dodai an Ahohite, and, of his course, was Mikloth also a chief ruler, —and, in his course, were twenty-four thousand.

5 Wolamulira ankhondo wachitatu, pa mwezi wachitatu anali Benaya, mwana wa wansembe Yehoyada. Iye anali mtsogoleri ndipo pa gulu lake panali ankhondo 24,000.

The ruler of the third host, for the third month, was Benaiah, son of Jehoiada the priest—a chief, —and, in his course, were twenty-four thousand.

6 Uyu ndi Benaya uja amene anali wamphamvu pa gulu la anthu makumi atatu ndipo ndiye amatsogolera anthu makumi atatu aja. Mwana wake Amizabadi ndiye amatsogolera gulu lake.

The same Benaiah, was a hero of thirty, and over the thirty, —and, over his course, was Ammizabad his son.

7 Wachinayi pa mwezi wachinayi anali Asaheli mʼbale wake wa Yowabu; ndipo mwana wake Zebadiya ndiye analowa mʼmalo mwake. Pa gulu lake panali asilikali 24,000.

The fourth, for the fourth month, was Asahel, brother of Joab, and Zebadiah his son, after him, —and, in his course, were twenty-four thousand.

8 Wachisanu pa mwezi wachisanu anali Samihuti, mdzukulu wa Izira. Pa gulu lake panali asilikali 24,000.

Of the fifth, for the fifth month, the ruler, was Shamhuth the Izrahite, —and, in his course, were twenty-four thousand.

9 Wa 6 pa mwezi wa 6 anali Ira mwana wa Ikesi wa ku Tekowa. Pa gulu lake panali asilikali 24,000.

The sixth, for the sixth month, was Ira son of Ikkesh, the Tekoite, —and, in his course, were twenty-four thousand.

10 Wa 7 pa mwezi wa 7 anali Helezi Mpeloni wa fuko la Efereimu. Pa gulu lake panali asilikali 24,000.

The seventh, for the seventh month, was Helez the Pelonite, of the sons of Ephraim, —and, in his course, were twenty-four thousand.

The eighth, for the eighth month, was Sibbecai the Hushathite, of the Zerahites, —and, in his course, were twenty-four thousand.

12 Wa 9 pa mwezi wa 9 anali Abiezeri wa banja la Anatoti, wa fuko la Benjamini. Pa gulu lake panali asilikali 24,000.

The ninth, for the ninth month, was Abiezer the Anathothite, of the Benjamites, —and, in his course, were twenty-four thousand.

13 Wa khumi pa mwezi wa khumi anali Mahazayi wa ku Netofa, wa mbumba ya Zera. Pa gulu lake panali asilikali 24,000.

The tenth, for the tenth month, was Maharai the Netophathite, of the Zerahites, —and, in his course, were twenty-four thousand.

The eleventh, for the eleventh month, was Benaiah the Pirathonite, of the sons of Ephraim, —and, in his course, were twenty-four thousand.

The twelfth, for the twelfth month, was Heldai the Netophathite, of Othniel, —and, in his course, were twenty-four thousand.

Furthermore, over the tribes of Israel, the chief ruler of the Reubenites, was Eliezer, son of Zichri. Of the Simeonites, Shephatiah, son of Maacah.

17 mtsogoleri wa fuko la Levi: Hasabiya mwana wa Kemueli, mtsogoleri wa banja la Aaroni: Zadoki;

Of Levi, Hashabiah, son of Kemuel. Of Aaron, Zadok.

18 mtsogoleri wa fuko la Yuda: Elihu, mʼbale wake wa Davide; mtsogoleri wa fuko la Isakara: Omuri mwana wa Mikayeli;

Of Judah, Elihu, one of the brethren of David. Of Issachar, Omri, son of Michael.

19 mtsogoleri wa fuko la Zebuloni: Isimaiya mwana wa Obadiya; mtsogoleri wa fuko la Nafutali: Yerimoti mwana wa Azirieli;

Of Zebulun, Ishmaiah, son of Obadiah. Of Naphtali, Jeremoth, son of Azriel.

20 mtsogoleri wa fuko la Efereimu: Hoseya mwana wa Azaziya; mtsogoleri wa fuko la theka la Manase: Yoweli mwana wa Pedaya;

Of the sons of Ephraim, Hoshea son of Azaziah. Of the half tribe of Manasseh, Joel, son of Pedaiah.

21 mtsogoleri wa fuko la theka la Manase limene linali ku Giliyadi: Ido mwana wa Zekariya; mtsogoleri wa fuko la Benjamini: Yaasieli mwana wa Abineri;

Of the half of Manasseh, in Gilead, Iddo, son of Zechariah. Of Benjamin, Jaasiel, son of Abner.

22 mtsogoleri wa fuko la Dani: Azareli mwana wa Yerohamu. Awa anali akuluakulu a mafuko a Israeli.

Of Dan, Azarel, son of Jeroham. These, were the rulers of the tribes of Israel.

23 Davide sanawerenge amuna amene anali ndi zaka makumi awiri kapena kucheperapo, chifukwa Yehova analonjeza kuti adzachulukitsa Aisraeli ngati nyenyezi zamumlengalenga.

But David took not the number of them, from twenty years old, and under, —because Yahweh had said, he would multiply Israel like the stars of the heavens.

Joab son of Zeruiah, began to number, but finished not, when there arose, on this account, indignation against Israel, —neither did the number come up into the account of the chronicles of King David.

25 Azimaveti mwana wa Adieli ankayangʼanira nyumba zosungiramo katundu wa mfumu. Yonatani mwana wa Uziya ankayangʼanira nyumba zosungiramo katundu wa maboma ozungulira, mizinda, midzi ndi malo olondera.

And, over the treasuries of the king, was Azmaveth, son of Adiel. And, over the treasuries in the fields, in the cities, in the villages and in the castles, was Jonathan, son of Uzziah;

26 Eziri mwana wa Kelubi ankayangʼanira anthu ogwira ntchito yolima ku munda.

And, over the workers of the field, for the tillage of the ground, was Ezri, son of Chelub.

27 Simei wa ku Rama ankayangʼanira minda ya mpesa. Zabidi wa ku Sifamu ankayangʼanira mphesa ndi mosungiramo mwake.

And, over the vineyards, was Shimei, the Ramathite. And, over that which was in the vineyards, for the treasuries of wine, was Zabdi, the Shiphmite.

28 Baala-Hanani wa ku Gederi ankayangʼanira mitengo ya olivi ndi ya mikuyu ya ku Sefela. Yowasi ankayangʼanira mafuta a Olivi.

And, over the olive-trees and the sycamore-trees that were in the lowland, was Baal-hanan the Gederite. And, over the treasuries of oil, was Joash.

29 Sitirayi wa ku Saroni ankayangʼanira ziweto zimene amaweta ku Saroni. Safati mwana wa Adilayi ankayangʼanira ngʼombe zakuzigwa.

And, over the herds that pastured in Sharon, was Shitrai, the Sharonite. And, over the herds in the vales, Shaphat, son of Adlai.

30 Obili Mwismaeli ankayangʼanira ngamira. Yehideya Mmerenoti ankayangʼanira abulu.

And, over the camels, was Obil, the Ishmaelite. And, over the asses, was Jehdeyahu the Meronothite.

31 Yazizi Mhagiri akayangʼanira nkhosa ndi mbuzi. Onsewa anali akuluakulu oyangʼanira chuma cha mfumu Davide.

And, over the flocks, was Jaziz, the Hagrite. All these, were rulers over the possessions that belonged to King David.

32 Yonatani, malume wake wa Davide, anali phungu wake ndipo anali munthu wanzeru komanso analinso mlembi. Yehieli mwana wa Hakimoni ankasamalira ana a mfumu.

And, Jonathan the relative of David, was a counsellor, a man of understanding and a scribe, was he. And, Jehiel son of Hachmoni, was with the sons of the king.

33 Ahitofele anali phungu wa mfumu. Husai Mwariki anali bwenzi la mfumu.

And, Ahitophel, was counsellor to the king. And, Hushai the Archite, was the companion of the king.

34 Ahitofele atamwalira mʼmalo mwake munalowa Yehoyada mwana wa Benaya ndi Abiatara. Yowabu anali mtsogoleri wa gulu lankhondo la mfumu.

And, after Ahitophel, was Jehoiada son of Benaiah—and Abiathar. And, the captain of the king’s army, was Joab.
