1 Davide anakambirana ndi akuluakulu ake, atsogoleri a anthu 1,000 ndi atsogoleri a anthu 100.
And David consults with the heads of the thousands and of the hundreds, [and] with every leader,
2 Ndipo anati kwa gulu lonse la Israeli, “Ngati kukukomerani komanso ngati chili chifuniro cha Yehova Mulungu wathu, tiyeni titumize uthenga kulikonse kumene kuli abale athu ena onse ku dziko lonse la Israeli ndiponso kwa ansembe ndi Alevi amene ali nawo mʼmidzi yawo ndi madera odyetsera ziweto, kuti abwere adzakhale nafe.
and David says to all the assembly of Israel, “If it is good to you, and it has broken forth from our God YHWH—we send to our brothers, those left in all the lands of Israel, and the priests and the Levites with them in the cities of their outskirts, and they are gathered to us,
3 Tiyeni tibweretsenso Bokosi la Mulungu wathu kuno kwathu, pakuti nthawi ya Sauli sitinafunse za bokosili.”
and we bring around the Ark of our God to us, for we did not seek Him in the days of Saul.”
4 Gulu lonse linavomereza izi, pakuti anthu onse anaona kuti kunali kofunika kutero.
And all the assembly says to do so, for the thing is right in the eyes of all the people.
5 Kotero Davide anasonkhanitsa Aisraeli onse, kuchokera ku mtsinje wa Sihori ku Igupto mpaka ku Lebo Hamati, kuti abweretse Bokosi la Mulungu kuchokera ku Kiriati-Yearimu.
And David assembles all Israel from Shihor of Egypt even to the entering in of Hamath, to bring in the Ark of God from Kirjath-Jearim,
6 Davide pamodzi ndi Aisraeli onse anapita ku Baalahi (Kiriati-Yearimu) ku Yuda kukatenga Bokosi la Yehova Mulungu, amene amakhala pakati pa akerubi. Limeneli ndiye Bokosi la Chipangano lomwe limadziwika ndi Dzina lake.
and David goes up, and all Israel, to Ba‘alah, to Kirjath-Jearim that [belongs] to Judah, to bring up from there the Ark of God, YHWH, inhabiting the cherubim, where the Name is called on.
7 Iwo anachotsa Bokosi la Mulungu ku nyumba ya Abinadabu pa ngolo yatsopano. Uza ndi Ahiyo ndiwo ankayendetsa ngoloyo.
And they place the Ark of God on a new cart from the house of Abinadab, and Uzza and Ahio are leading the cart,
8 Davide pamodzi ndi Aisraeli onse ankakondwerera ndi mphamvu zawo zonse pamaso pa Mulungu, poyimba nyimbo pogwiritsa ntchito azeze, apangwe, matambolini, maseche ndi malipenga.
and David and all Israel are playing before God, with all strength, and with songs, and with harps, and with psalteries, and with timbrels, and with cymbals, and with trumpets.
9 Atafika pa malo opunthira tirigu ku Kidoni, Uza anatambalitsa dzanja lake kuti agwire bokosilo, chifukwa ngʼombe zinkafuna kugwa.
And they come to the threshing-floor of Chidon, and Uzza puts forth his hand to seize the Ark, for the oxen were released,
10 Yehova anapsera mtima Uza ndipo anamukantha chifukwa chogwira bokosilo. Choncho iyeyo anafera pomwepo pamaso pa Mulungu.
and the anger of YHWH is kindled against Uzza, and He strikes him, because that he has put forth his hand on the Ark, and he dies there before God.
11 Ndipo Davide anakhumudwa chifukwa Yehova anakantha Uza ndipo mpaka lero malowo amatchedwa Perezi Uza.
And it is displeasing to David, because YHWH has made a breach on Uzza, and one calls that place “Breach of Uzza” to this day.
12 Tsiku limenelo Davide anachita mantha ndi Mulungu ndipo anafunsa kuti, “Kodi Bokosi la Mulungu lingafike bwanji kwathu?”
And David fears God on that day, saying, “How do I bring the Ark of God to me?”
13 Iye sanapitenso nalo Bokosi la Mulungu ku Mzinda wa Davide. Mʼmalo mwake anapita nalo ku nyumba ya Obedi-Edomu Mgiti.
And David has not turned aside the Ark to himself, to the City of David, and turns it aside to the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite.
14 Ndipo Bokosi la Mulungu linakhala mʼbanja la Obedi-Edomu mʼnyumba mwake kwa miyezi itatu ndipo Yehova anadalitsa nyumba yake ndi chilichonse chimene anali nacho.
And the Ark of God dwells with the household of Obed-Edom, in his house, three months, and YHWH blesses the house of Obed-Edom, and all that he has.
