1 Nawa anthu amene anabwera kwa Davide ali ku Zikilagi pamene iye anathamangitsidwa ndi Sauli mwana wa Kisi (iwowo anali mʼgulu la asilikali amene ankamuthandiza pa nkhondo.
And these [are] those coming to David at Ziklag, while shut up because of Saul son of Kish, and they [are] among the mighty ones, helping the battle,
2 Iwo anali ndi mauta ndipo amadziwa kuponya mivi komanso miyala, ndipo amatha kuponyera dzanja lamanja kapena lamanzere. Iwo anali abale ake a Sauli ochokera ku fuko la Benjamini.
armed with bow, right and left handed, with stones, and with arrows, with bows, of the brothers of Saul, of Benjamin.
3 Mtsogoleri wawo anali Ahiyezeri ndi Yowasi ana a Semaya wa ku Gibeya; Yezieli ndi Peleti ana a Azimaveti; Beraka, Yehu wa ku Anatoti,
The head [is] Ahiezer, and Joash, sons of Shemaab the Gibeathite, and Jeziel, and Pelet, sons of Azmaveth, and Berachah, and Jehu the Antothite,
4 ndi Isimaiya wa ku Gibiyoni, munthu wamphamvu mʼgulu la anthu makumi atatu aja, yemwenso anali mtsogoleri wawo; Yeremiya, Yahazieli, Yohanani, Yozabadi wa ku Gederi,
and Ishmaiah the Gibeonite, a mighty one among the thirty, and over the thirty, and Jeremiah, and Jahaziel, and Johanan, and Josabad the Gederathite.
5 Eluzai, Yerimoti, Bealiya, Semariya ndi Sefatiya Mharufi;
Eluzai, and Jerimoth, and Bealiah, and Shemariah, and Shephatiah the Haruphite;
6 Elikana, Isiya, Azareli, Yowezeri ndi Yasobeamu a ku banja la Kora;
Elkanah, and Jesiah, and Azareel, and Joezer, and Jashobeam the Korahites,
7 ndi Yowela ndi Zebadiya ana a Yerohamu wa ku Gedori.
and Joelah, and Zebadiah, sons of Jeroham of Gedor.
8 Asilikali ena a fuko la Gadi anathawira kwa Davide ku linga lake ku chipululu. Iwo anali asilikali olimba mtima, okonzekera nkhondo ndipo amadziwa kugwiritsa ntchito chishango ndi mkondo. Iwowo anali woopsa ngati mikango ndipo anali aliwiro ngati ngoma zamʼmapiri.
And of the Gadite there have been separated to David, to the fortress, to the wilderness, mighty men of valor, men of the host for battle, setting in array buckler and spear, and their faces [are as] the face of the lion, and as roes on the mountains for speed:
9 Mtsogoleri wawo anali Ezeri, wotsatana naye anali Obadiya, wachitatu anali Eliabu,
Ezer the head, Obadiah the second, Eliab the third,
10 wachinayi anali Misimana, Yeremiya anali wachisanu,
Mishmannah the fourth, Jeremiah the fifth,
11 wachisanu ndi chimodzi anali Atai, Elieli anali wachisanu ndi chiwiri,
Attai the sixth, Eliel the seventh,
12 wachisanu ndi chitatu anali Yohanani, Elizabadi anali wachisanu ndi chinayi,
Johanan the eighth, Elzabad the ninth,
13 wakhumi anali Yeremiya ndipo Makibanai anali wa 11.
Jeremiah the tenth, Machbannai the eleventh.
14 Anthu a fuko la Gadi amenewa anali atsogoleri; angʼonoangʼono amalamulira anthu 100 pamene akuluakulu amalamulira anthu 1,000.
These [are] of the sons of Gad, heads of the host; the least [is] one of one hundred, and the greatest, of one thousand;
15 Awa ndi amene anawoloka Yorodani mwezi woyamba pamene mtsinje unali utasefukira mbali zonse, ndipo anathamangitsa aliyense amene amakhala mʼchigwa, mbali ya kumadzulo ndi kummawa.
these [are] they who have passed over the Jordan in the first month—and it is full over all its banks—and cause all [those in] the valley to flee to the east and to the west.
16 Anthu ena a fuko la Benjamini ndi ena ochokera ku Yuda anabweranso kwa Davide pamene anali ku linga lake.
And [some] from the sons of Benjamin and Judah came to David at the stronghold,
17 Davide anapita kukakumana nawo ndipo anati, “Ngati mwabwera kwa ine mwamtendere, kuti mundithandize, ndakonzeka kugwirizana nanu. Koma ngati mwabwera kudzandipereka kwa adani anga, ngakhale kuti sindinalakwe, Mulungu wa makolo anthu aone izi ndipo akuweruzeni.”
and David goes out before them, and answers and says to them, “If you have come to me for peace, to help me, I have a heart to unite with you; and if to betray me to my adversaries—without violence in my hands—the God of our fathers sees and reproves.”
18 Kenaka Mzimu anabwera pa Amasai, mtsogoleri wa anthu makumi atatu aja ndipo anati: “Inu Davide, ife ndife anu! Tili nanu limodzi, inu mwana wa Yese! Kupambana, Kupambana kwa inu, ndiponso kupambana kukhale kwa iwo amene akukuthandizani pakuti Mulungu wanu adzakuthandizani.” Kotero Davide anawalandira ndipo anawayika kukhala atsogoleri a magulu ake a ankhondo.
And the Spirit has clothed Amasai, head of the captains: “To you, O David, and with you, O son of Jesse—peace! Peace to you, and peace to your helper, for your God has helped you”; and David receives them, and puts them among the heads of the troop.
19 Anthu ena a fuko la Manase anathawira kwa Davide pamene anapita ndi Afilisti kukamenyana ndi Sauli. (Iye ndi anthu ake sanathandize Afilisti chifukwa, atsogoleri awo atakambirana, anamubweza Davide. Iwo anati, “Ife tidzawonongedwa ngati uyu adzabwerera kwa mbuye wake Sauli).”
And [some] from Manasseh have defected to David in his coming with the Philistines against Israel to battle—and they did not help them, for by counsel the princes of the Philistines sent him away, saying, “He defects with our heads to his master Saul.”
20 Davide atapita ku Zikilagi, anthu a fuko la Manase amene anathawira kwa iye anali awa: Adina, Yozabadi, Yediaeli, Mikayeli, Yozabadi, Elihu ndi Ziletai; atsogoleri a magulu a anthu 1,000 a ku Manase.
In his going to Ziglag there have fallen to him from Manasseh: Adnah, and Jozabad, and Jediael, and Michael, and Jozabad, and Elihu, and Zillthai, heads of the thousands who [are] of Manasseh;
21 Iwowa anathandiza Davide kulimbana ndi magulu achifwamba, pakuti onsewa anali asilikali olimba mtima ndipo anali atsogoleri mʼgulu lake la ankhondo.
and they have helped with David over the troop, for all of them [are] mighty men of valor, and they are captains in the host,
22 Tsiku ndi tsiku anthu amabwera kudzathandiza Davide, mpaka anakhala ndi gulu lalikulu la ankhondo, ngati gulu la ankhondo a Mulungu.
for at that time, day by day, they come to David to help him, until it is a great camp, like a camp of God.
23 Nachi chiwerengero cha magulu a anthu ankhondo amene anabwera kwa Davide ku Hebroni kudzapereka ufumu wa Sauli kwa iye, monga momwe ananenera Yehova:
And these [are] the numbers of the head, of the armed men of the host; they have come to David at Hebron to turn around the kingdom of Saul to him, according to the mouth of YHWH.
24 Anthu a fuko la Yuda onyamula chishango ndi mkondo analipo 6,800;
The sons of Judah, carrying buckler and spear, [are] six thousand and eight hundred, armed ones of the host.
25 Anthu a fuko la Simeoni, asilikali okonzekera nkhondo analipo 7,100;
Of the sons of Simeon, mighty men of valor for the host, [are] seven thousand and one hundred.
26 Anthu a fuko la Levi analipo 4,600,
Of the sons of Levi [are] four thousand and six hundred;
27 mtsogoleri Yehoyada wa banja la Aaroni anabweranso ndi anthu 3,700,
and Jehoiada [is] the leader of the Aaronite, and with him [are] three thousand and seven hundred,
28 ndi Zadoki, mnyamata wankhondo wolimba mtima, anabwera ndi akuluakulu 22 ochokera mʼbanja lake;
and Zadok, a young man, a mighty man of valor, and of the house of his father [are] twenty-two heads.
29 Anthu a fuko la Benjamini, abale ake a Sauli analipo 3,000 ndipo ambiri anali ndi Sauli ku nyumba yake pa nthawiyi;
And of the sons of Benjamin, brothers of Saul, [are] three thousand, and until now their greater part are keeping the charge of the house of Saul.
30 Anthu a fuko la Efereimu, asilikali olimba mtima, otchuka pa mabanja awo analipo 20,800;
And of the sons of Ephraim [are] twenty thousand and eight hundred, mighty men of valor, men of renown, according to the house of their fathers.
31 Anthu a fuko latheka la Manase amene anawayitana kuti adzakhazikitse nawo ufumu wa Davide analipo 18,000;
And of the half of the tribe of Manasseh [are] eighteen thousand, who have been defined by name, to come to cause David to reign.
32 Anthu a fuko la Isakara amene ankazindikira nthawi ndipo amadziwa zimene Israeli ankayenera kuchita, analipo atsogoleri 200 pamodzi ndi abale awo onse amene amawatsogolera.
And of the sons of Issachar, having understanding for the times, to know what Israel should do; their heads [are] two hundred, and all their brothers [are] at their command.
33 Anthu a fuko la Zebuloni, analipo 5,000. Iwowa anali asilikali odziwa bwino nkhondo, okhala ndi zida za mtundu uliwonse, okonzekera kudzathandiza Davide ndi mtima umodzi.
Of Zebulun, going forth to the host, arranging battle with all instruments of battle, [are] fifty thousand, and keeping rank without a double heart.
34 Anthu a fuko la Nafutali, analipo atsogoleri 1,000 pamodzi ndi anthu 37,000 onyamula zishango ndi mikondo;
And of Naphtali, one thousand heads, and with them, with buckler and spear, [are] thirty-seven thousand.
35 Anthu a fuko la Dani, okonzekera nkhondo analipo 28,600.
And of the Danite, arranging battle, [are] twenty-eight thousand and six hundred.
36 Anthu a fuko la Aseri, asilikali odziwa bwino nkhondo, okonzekeradi nkhondo analipo 40,000;
And of Asher, going forth to the host, to arrange battle, [are] forty thousand.
37 Ndipo kuchokera kummawa kwa Yorodani, anthu a fuko la Rubeni, Gadi ndi theka la fuko la Manase, amene anali ndi zida za mtundu uliwonse analipo 120,000.
And from beyond the Jordan, of the Reubenite, and of the Gadite, and of the half of the tribe of Manasseh, with all instruments of the host for battle, [are] one hundred and twenty thousand.
38 Onsewa anali anthu odziwa kumenya nkhondo amene anadzipereka ku magulu awo. Iwo anabwera ku Hebroni ali otsimikiza kudzamuyika Davide kukhala mfumu ya Aisraeli. Aisraeli ena onse anali ndi mtima umodzinso womuyika Davide kukhala mfumu.
All these [are] men of war, keeping rank—they have come to Hebron with a perfect heart, to cause David to reign over all Israel, and also all the rest of Israel [are] of one heart, to cause David to reign,
39 Anthuwa anakhala ndi Davide masiku atatu akudya ndi kumwa pakuti mabanja awo anawapatsa zakudya.
and they are there, with David, three days, eating and drinking, for their brothers have prepared for them.
40 Komanso anthu oyandikana nawo ochokera ku Isakara, Zebuloni ndi Nafutali anabweretsa zakudya pa abulu, ngamira, nyulu ndi ngʼombe. Panali ufa wambiri, makeke ankhuyu, ntchintchi za mphesa, vinyo, mafuta, ngʼombe, nkhosa ndi mbuzi, popeza munali chimwemwe mu Israeli.
And also those near to them—to Issachar, and Zebulun, and Naphtali—are bringing in bread on donkeys, and on camels, and on mules, and on oxen—food of fine flour, fig-cakes and grape-cakes, and wine, and oil, and oxen, and sheep, in abundance, for joy [is] in Israel.
