Mga Salmo 91
1 Siya nga nagapuyo sa sulod sa dapit nga tinago sa Hataas Uyamut Magapahulay sa ilalum sa landong sa makagagahum.
Those who live under the protection of God Almighty, will be able to rest [safely] under his care.
2 Magaingon ako mahatungod kang Jehova: Siya mao ang akong dalangpanan ug kuta nako; Dios ko, nga kaniya misalig ako.
I will declare to Yahweh, “You protect me; [you are like] a fort [MET] in which I am safe. You are my God, the one in whom I trust.”
3 Kay siya magaluwas kanimo gikan sa lit-ag sa mangangayam, Ug gikan sa makamatay nga hampak.
Yahweh will rescue you from all hidden traps and save you from deadly diseases.
4 Sa iyang mga dagang pagatabonan ikaw niya, Ug sa ilalum sa iyang mga pako, magapasilong ikaw: Ang iyang kamatuoran mao ang kalasag ug ang taming.
He will shield/protect you [like a bird shields/protects its chicks] [MET] with/under her wings. You will be safe (in his care/because he takes care of you). His faithfully doing what he has promised is like a shield [MET] that will protect you.
5 Dili ka mahadlok tungod sa kakugmat sa kagabhion, Ni sa udyong nga nagalupad sa adlaw;
You will not be afraid of things that happen during the night that could (terrorize you/cause you to be very afraid), or of arrows that [your enemies will shoot at you] during the day.
6 Ni sa kamatay nga nagalakaw sa kangitngitan, Ni sa kamatay nga nagalaglag sa kaudtohon.
You will not be afraid of (plagues/widespread sicknesses) that demons cause when they attack people at night, or of other [evil forces] that kill people at midday.
7 Mangapukan ang usa ka libo sa imong kiliran, Ug ang napulo ka libo sa imong toong kamot; Apan kanimo kini dili makaabut.
Even if 1,000 people fall [dead] alongside you, even if 10,000 [people are dying] around you, you will not be harmed.
8 Ngani nga pinaagi lamang sa imong mga mata imong makita, Ug makita mo ang balus sa mga dautan.
Look and see that (wicked people are being punished/God is punishing wicked people)!
9 Kay ikaw, Oh Jehova, mao ang akong dalangpanan! Ang Hataas Uyamut gihimo mo nga imong puloy-anan;
If you allow Yahweh to protect you, if you trust God Almighty to (shelter/take care of) you,
10 Dili moabut kanimo ang kadautan, Ni magapahaduol ang kamatay sa imong balong-balong.
nothing evil will happen to you; no plague will come near your house,
11 Kay siya magasugo sa iyang mga manolonda sa pagtan-aw kanimo, Sa pagbantay kanimo sa tanan mong mga dalan.
because Yahweh will command his angels to protect you wherever you go.
12 Pagasapnayon ikaw nila sa ilang mga kamot, Aron nga ang imong mga tiil dili mahapangdol sa bato.
They will hold you up with their hands, with the result that you will not hurt your foot on a big stone.
13 Ikaw magatunob sa ibabaw sa leon, ug sa sawa nga malala: Pagayatakan mo ang gagmay nga leon ug ang halas.
You will be [kept safe from being harmed by your enemies] [MET]; [it will be as though] you are stepping on lions and poisonous snakes [without them harming you!]
14 Tungod kay gipahaluna niya ang iyang gugma kanako, busa ako magaluwas kaniya: Ipahaluna ko siya sa itaas tungod kay naila niya ang akong ngalan.
[Yahweh says], “I will rescue those who love me, I will protect them because they (acknowledge that I am Yahweh/know me).
15 Kanako magatawag siya, ug ako motubag kaniya; Ubanan ko siya diha sa kalisdanan: Akong luwason siya ug akong pagapasidunggan siya.
When they call out to me, I will answer them. I will help them when they are experiencing trouble; I will rescue them and honor them.
16 Akong pagatagbawon siya sa hataas nga kinabuhi, Ug akong ipakita kaniya ang akong kaluwasan.
I will reward them by enabling them to live a long time, and I will save them.”
