Mga Salmo 16
1 Bantayan mo ako, Oh Dios, kay kanimo midangup ako.
God, protect me because I go to you to keep me safe!
2 Oh kalag ko, ikaw miingon kay Jehova: Ikaw mao ang Ginoo ko: Ako walay kaayohan gawas kanimo.
I said to Yahweh, “You are my Lord; all the good things that I have come from you.”
3 Mahitungod sa mga balaan nga ania sa yuta, (Sila) mao ang mga matarung nga kanila anaa ang bug-os ko nga kalipay.
Your people who live in this land are wonderful; I delight to be with them.
4 Pagapilo-piloon ang ilang mga kasub-anan niadtong nanghatag ug mga gasa sa lain nga dios: Dili ko igahalad ang ilang mga halad-nga-ilimnon sa dugo, Ni pagadawaton ang ilang mga ngalan sa akong mga ngabil.
Those who choose to worship other gods will have many things that cause them to be sad. I will not join them when they make sacrifices [to their gods]; I will not even join them when they speak [MTY] the names of their gods.
5 Si Jehova mao ang akong bahin sa akong panulondon ug sa akong copa; Ikaw nagapadayon sa akong kapalaran.
Yahweh, you are the one whom I have chosen, and you give me great blessings. You protect me and control what happens to me.
6 Ang mga pitik nanghibahin kanako sa mga dapit nga malipayon; Oo, aduna akoy panulondon nga maayo.
Yahweh has given me a wonderful place in which to live; I am delighted with all the things that he has given me [MET].
7 Magadayeg ako kang Jehova, nga nagahatag kanako ug tambag; Oo, ang akong kasingkasing nagapahamangno kanako sa mga panahon sa kagabhion.
I will praise Yahweh, the one who teaches/disciplines me; even at night [he] you put in my mind what is right for me to do.
8 Si Jehova gibutang ko sa kanunay sa atubangan nako: Tungod kay ania siya sa akong toong kamot, ako dili matarug.
I know that Yahweh is always with me. He is beside me; so nothing will (perturb me/cause me to be worried).
9 Busa nagamaya ang akong kasingkasing, ug nagakalipay ang akong himaya: Ang akong unod usab magapuyo sa kasigurohan.
Therefore I am glad and I [MTY, DOU] rejoice; I can rest securely
10 Tungod kay dili mo pagabiyaan ang akong kalag sa Sheol; Ni motugot ka nga ang imong balaan makakita sa pagkadunot. (Sheol h7585)
because you, Yahweh, will not allow my soul/spirit to remain in the place where the dead people are; you will not allow me, your godly one, to stay there. (Sheol h7585)
11 Igapakita mo kanako ang dalan sa kinabuhi: Sa imong presencia anaa ang kahupnganan sa kalipay; Sa imong toong kamot adunay mga kalipayan nga sa walay katapusan.
You will show me the road that leads to [receiving eternal] life, and you will make me joyful when I am with you. I will have pleasure forever when I am (at your right hand/seated next to you).
