Lucas 6
1 Usa niana ka adlaw nga igpapahulay, samtang naglakaw siya agi sa kaumahan sa trigo, ang iyang mga tinun-an nangutlog mga uhay ug nangaon niini, nga ilang gikusokuso diha sa ilang mga kamot.
Now on the second-first Sabbath while He was passing through the wheatfields, His disciples were plucking the ears and rubbing them with their hands to eat the grain.
2 Apan ang uban sa mga Fariseo miingon, "Nganong gibuhat man ninyo ang dili matarung pagabuhaton sulod sa adlaw nga igpapahulay sumala sa kasugoan?"
And some of the Pharisees asked, "Why are you doing what the Law forbids on the Sabbath?"
3 Si Jesus mitubag kanila, "Wala ba kamo makabasa mahitungod sa gibuhat ni David sa diha nga gigutom siya ug ang iyang mga kauban:
"Have you never read so much as this," answered Jesus--"what David did when he and his followers were hungry;
4 naunsa nga misulod man siya sa balay sa Dios, ug mikuha ug mikaon sa mga tinapay-nga-binutang-sa-atubangan-sa-Dios, nga supak man unta sa kasugoan ang pagkaon niini ni bisan kinsa gawas sa mga sacerdote lamang, ug nanghatag usab siya niini ngadto sa mga kauban niya?"
how he entered the house of God and took and ate the Presented Loaves and gave some to his followers--loaves which none but the Priests are allowed to eat?"
5 Ug siya miingon kanila, "Ang Anak sa Tawo agalon kang kinsa nailalum ang adlaw nga igpapahulay."
"The Son of Man," He added, "is Lord of the Sabbath also."
6 Ug sa lain na usab nga adlaw nga igpapahulay, sa paghisulod niya sa sinagoga ug nagpanudlo siya, didtoy usa ka tawo kinsang kamot nga too nakuyos.
On another Sabbath He had gone to the synagogue and was teaching there; and in the congregation was a man whose right arm was withered.
7 Ug ang mga escriba ug mga Fariseo naniid kang Jesus kon mang-ayo ba siyag sakit sulod sa adlaw nga igpapahulay, aron makakita silag ikasumbong batok kaniya.
The Scribes and the Pharisees were on the watch to see whether He would cure him on the Sabbath that they might be able to bring an accusation against Him.
8 Apan siya nasayud sa ilang mga hunahuna, ug siya miingon sa tawo nga may kamot nga nakuyos, "Umari ka ug tindog diri." Ug siya mibangon ug mitindog didto.
He knew their thoughts, and said to the man with the withered arm, "Rise, and stand there in the middle." And he rose and stood there.
9 Ug si Jesus miingon kanila, "Mangutana ako kaninyo, uyon ba sa kasugoan ang pagbuhat sa makaayo o anga pagbuhat sa makadaut sulod sa adlaw nga igpapahulay, ang pagluwas ug kinabuhi o ang paglaglag niini?"
Then Jesus said to them, "I put it to you all whether we are allowed to do good on the Sabbath, or to do evil; to save a life, or to destroy it."
10 Ug miliraw siya sa pagsud-ong kanilang tanan, ug unya miingon siya sa tawo, "Ituy-od ang imong kamot." Iyang gihimo kini, ug ang iyang kamot nahiulian.
And looking round upon them all He said to the man, "Stretch out your arm." He did so, and the arm was restored.
11 Apan sila napuno sa kapungot ug ilang gipanagsabutan kon unsay ilang pagabuhaton kang Jesus.
But they were filled with madness, and began to discuss with one another what they should do to Jesus.
12 Ug niadtong mga adlawa si Jesus miadto sa kabungturan aron sa pag-ampo; ug sa tibuok gabii siya nagpadayon sa pag-ampo ngadto sa Dios.
About that time He went out on one occasion into the hill country to pray; and He remained all night in prayer to God.
13 Ug sa pagkaadlaw na, gitawag niya ang iyang mga tinun-an, ug gikan kanila iyang gipili ang Napulog-Duha nga iyang ginganlan nga mga apostoles.
When it was day, He called His disciples; and He selected from among them twelve, whom He also named Apostles.
14 Kini sila mao si Simon, nga iyang ginganlan si Pedro, ug si Andres nga igsoon ni Simon, ug si Santiago, ug si Juan, ug si Felipe, ug si Bartolome,
These were Simon, to whom also He had given the name of Peter, and Andrew his brother; James and John; Philip and Bartholomew;
15 ug si Mateo, ug si Tomas, ug si Santiago nga anak ni Alfeo, ug si Simon nga ginganlan ug Zelote,
Matthew and Thomas; James the son of Alphaeus and Simon called the Zealot;
16 ug si Judas nga anak ni Santiago, ug si Judas Iscariote nga nahimong mabudhion.
James's relative Judas, and Judas Iscariot who proved to be a traitor.
17 Unya milugsong siya uban kanila ug mitindog sa usa ka dapit nga patag, kinuyogan sa usa ka dakung panon sa iyang mga tinun-an ug sa hilabihan kadaghang mga tawo nga gikan sa tibuok Judea ug sa Jerusalem ug sa kabaybayonan sa Tiro ug sa Sidon, nga nanagpanugok aron sa pagpatalinghug kaniya ug sa pagpaayo gikan sa ilang mga sakit;
With these He came down till He reached a level place, where there was a great crowd of His disciples, and a multitude of people from every part of Judaea, from Jerusalem, and from the sea-side district of Tyre and Sidon, who came to hear Him and to be cured of their diseases;
18 ug nangaayo ang mga gisakit sa mga mahugaw nga espiritu.
and those who were tormented by foul spirits were cured.
19 Ug ang tibuok panon sa katawhan naninguha sa paghikap kaniya, kay gikan kaniya may gahum nga migula ug nag-ayo kanilang tanan.
The whole crowd were eager to touch Him, because power went forth from him and cured every one.
20 Unya giyahat niya ang iyang mga mata ngadto sa iyang mga tinun-an ug miingon:
Then fixing His eyes upon His disciples, Jesus said to them, "Blessed are you poor, because the Kingdom of God is yours.
21 "Bulahan kamong mga gigutom karon, kay pagabusgon ra unya kamo.
"Blessed are you who hunger now, because your hunger shall be satisfied. "Blessed are you who now weep aloud, because you shall laugh.
22 "Bulahan kamo sa diha nga pagadumtan kamo sa mga tawo ug pagaayran kamo ug panamastamasan kamo, ug igasalikway ang inyong ngalan ingon nga dautan, tungod sa Anak sa Tawo!
"Blessed are you when men shall hate you and exclude you from their society and insult you, and spurn your very names as evil things, for the Son of Man's sake.
23 Ikalipay ninyo ang maong panahon, ug pagluksolukso kamo sa kasadya, kay tan-awa, daku ang inyong balus didto sa langit; kay ang mga profeta gibuhatan man sa ingon nga paagi sa mga ginikanan sa maong mga tawo.
"Be glad at such a time, and dance for joy; for your reward is great in Heaven; for that is just the way their forefathers behaved to the Prophets!
24 "Apan alaut kamong mga dato, kay tapus na ninyo madawat ang inyong kalipay.
"But alas for you rich men, because you already have your consolation!
25 "Alaut kamong mga busog karon, kay panggutomon ra unya kamo.
"Alas for you who now have plenty to eat, because you will be hungry! "Alas for you who laugh now, because you will mourn and weep aloud!
26 "Alaut kamo sa diha nga ang tanang mga tawo magasultig maayo mahitungod kaninyo, kay ang mga mini nga profeta gibuhatan man sa ingon nga paagi sa mga ginikanan sa maong mga tawo.
"Alas for you when men shall all have spoken well of you; for that is just the way their forefathers behaved to the false Prophets!
27 " " Apan sultihan ko kamong mga nanagpaminaw, Higugmaa ninyo ang inyong mga kaaway, buhati ninyog maayo ang mga managdumot kaninyo.
"But to you who are listening to me I say, Love your enemies; seek the welfare of those who hate you;
28 Panalangini ninyo ang mga magapanghimaraut kaninyo, ug pag-ampo kamo alang sa mga magapasipala kaninyo.
bless those who curse you; pray for those who revile you.
29 Kaniya nga mosagpa kanimo sa aping, itahan mo usab ang pikas, ug kaniya nga moagaw sa imong kupo ayaw usab pag-ihikaw ang imong kamisola.
To him who gives you a blow on one side of the face offer the other side also; and to him who is robbing you of your outer garment refuse not the under one also.
30 Hatagi ang tanang mangayo kanimo, ug siya nga magakuha sa imong mga butang ayaw pagbawii niini.
To every one who asks, give; and from him who takes away your property, do not demand it back.
31 Ug buhati ang mga tawo sa buot ninyo nga ilang pagabuhaton kaninyo.
And behave to your fellow men just as you would have them behave to you.
32 "Ug kon mao ray inyong higugmaon ang mga nahigugma kaninyo, unsa may dungog ninyo? Kay bisan gani ang mga makasasala nagahigugma man sa mga nagahigugma kanila.
"If you love those who love you, what credit is it to you? Why, even bad men love those who love them.
33 Ug kon mao ray inyong buhatan ug maayo ang mga nagabuhat ug maayo kaninyo, unsa may dungog ninyo? Kay bisan gani ang mga makasasala nagabuhat man sa ingon.
And if you are kind to those who are kind to you, what credit is it to you? Even bad men act thus.
34 Ug kon ang inyong pahulamon mao ra ang mga tawo nga adunay inyong mapaabut nga madawat gikan kanila, unsa may dungog ninyo? Bisan gani ang mga makasasala magapahulam man ngadto sa mga makasasalam nga magapaabut nga makadawat a usab ug sama sa gipahulam.
And if you lend to those from whom you hope to receive, what credit is it to you? Even bad men lend to their fellows so as to receive back an equal amount.
35 Apan higugmaa ninyo ang inyong mga kaaway, ug buhati silag maayo, ug pahulama sila sa walay pagpaabut ug bisan unsa gikan kanila; ug daku unya ang inyong balus, ug kamo mahimong mga anak sa Labing Halangdon; kay siya mapuanguron man bisan sa mga tawong walay igabalus ug sa mga dautan.
Nevertheless love your enemies, be beneficent; and lend without hoping for any repayment. Then your recompense shall be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for He is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.
36 Magmaloloy-on kamo, maingon nga maloloy-on man ang inyong Amahan.
Be compassionate just as your Father is compassionate.
37 " " Ayaw kamo pagpanghukom sa uban, ug kamo dili nila pagahukman; ayaw ninyo sila pagpakasad-a, ug kamo dili nila pagapakasad-on; pagpasaylo, ug pagapasayloon kamo.
"Judge not, and you shall not be judged; condemn not, and you shall not be condemned; pardon, and you shall be pardoned;
38 "Panghatag kamo, ug kamo pagahatagan; ang takus nga pinaugdo, dinasok ug tinantan, ug magaawas, igabutang ra unya diha sa inyong sabakan. Kay ang takus nga inyong igahatag mao usab unya ang takus nga inyong pagadawaton."
give, and gifts shall be bestowed on you. Full measure, pressed, shaken down, and running over, shall they pour into your laps; for with the same measure that you use they shall measure to you in return."
39 "Ug sila iya usab nga gisuginlan niining usa ka sambingay: " Makahimo ba ugod ang usa ka buta sa pagguyod sa laing buta? Dili ba mangahulog silang duha ngadto sa gahong?
He also spoke to them in figurative language. "Can a blind man lead a blind man?" He asked; "would not both fall into the ditch?
40 Ang tinun-an dili labaw sa iyang magtutudlo, apan ang matag-usa nga katudloan sa hingpit mahisama sa iyang magtutudlo.
There is no disciple who is superior to his teacher; but every one whose instruction is complete will be like his teacher.
41 Nganong tan-awon mo man ang puling nga anaa sa mata sa imong igsoon, ug wala hinoon nimo tagda ang troso nga anaa sa kaugalingon mong mata?
"And why look at the splinter in your brother's eye instead of giving careful attention to the beam in your own?
42 Ug unsaon mo man sa pagpakaingon sa imong igsoon, `Igsoon, ambi, kuhiton ko kanang puling gikan sa imong mata,' nga dili ka man gani makakita sa troso nga anaa sa kaugalingon mong mata? Maut! Kuhaa una ang troso nga anaa sa kaugalingon mong mata, ug unya makakita ka na pag-ayo sa pagkuhit sa puling gikan sa mata sa imong igsoon.
How can you say to your brother, 'Brother, let me take that splinter out of your eye,' when all the while you yourself do not see the beam in your own eye? Vain pretender! take the beam out of your own eye first, and then you will see clearly to take the splinter out of your brother's eye.
43 "Kay walay maayong kahoy nga magapamungag mga bungang walay pulos, ni may kahoy nga walay pulos nga magapamungag bungang maayo;
"There is no good tree that yields unsound fruit, nor again any unsound tree that yields good fruit.
44 kay ang matag-kahoy maila pinaagi sa iyang bunga. Kay walay mga igos nga anha popoa gikan sa kasampinitan, ni mga parras gikan sa kadyapaan.
Every tree is known by its own fruit. It is not from thorns that men gather figs, nor from the bramble that they can get a bunch of grapes.
45 Ang maayong tawo, gikan sa maayong bahandi sa iyang kasingkasing, magapagulag maayo; apan ang dautang tawo, gikan sa iyang dautang bahandi, magapagulag dautan; kay gikan sa kadagaya sa kasingkasing magasulti ang iyang baba.
A good man from the good stored up in his heart brings out what is good; and an evil man from the evil stored up brings out what is evil; for from the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks.
46 "Nganong motawag man kamo kanako nga `Ginoo, Ginoo,' apan dili mobuhat sa ginasugo ko kaninyo?
"And why do you all call me 'Master, Master' and yet not do what I tell you?
47 Ang matag-usa nga magaduol kanako ug magapatalinghug sa akong mga pulong ug magabuhat niini, ipakita ko kaninyo kon sa unsa siya mahisama:
Every one who comes to me and listens to my words and puts them in practice, I will show you whom he is like.
48 siya mahisama sa usa ka tawo nga nagtukod ug balay, nga nagkalot ug lalum, ug nagpahiluna sa patukoranan diha sa ibabaw sa bato; ug sa pag-abut sa baha, ang bul-og mihasmag niadtong balaya, apan wala makatay-og niini, kay kini maayo man nga pagkatukod.
He is like a man building a house, who digs and goes deep, and lays the foundation on the rock; and when a flood comes, the torrent bursts upon that house, but is unable to shake it, because it is securely built.
49 "Apan siya nga magapatalinghug ug dili magabuhat niini, mahisama siya sa usa ka tawo nga nagtukod sa iyang balay nga walay patukoranan diha sa yuta; kini gihasmagan sa bul-og dihadiha napukan, ug daku gayud ang pagkagun-ob niadtong balaya."
But he who has heard and not practised is like a man who has built a house upon the soft soil without a foundation, against which the torrent bursts, and immediately it collapses, and terrible is the wreck and ruin of that house."
