Levitico 21
1 Ug si Jehova miingon kang Moises: Isulti mo sa mga sacerdote, ang mga anak nga lalake ni Aaron, ug ipamulong mo kanila: Walay bisan kinsa nga magahugaw sa iyang kaugalingon tungod sa usa ka minatay sa taliwala sa iyang katawohan;
Yahweh also said to Moses/me, “Speak to the priests, the sons of Aaron, and say to them,
2 Gawas sa iyang kaubanan sa haduol kaniya, tungod sa iyang inahan, ug tungod sa iyang amahan, ug, tungod sa iyang anak nga lalake, ug tungod sa iyang anak nga babaye, ug tungod sa iyang igsoon nga lalake,
‘You priests must not cause yourselves to become unfit to do my work by [touching] corpses. Priests are permitted to touch only the corpses of close relatives, such as the priest’s mother or father or his son or daughter or his brother.
3 Ug alang sa iyang igsoon nga babaye nga ulay, nga haduol kaniya, nga wala makapamana; tungod kaniya makahugaw siya sa iyang kaugalingon.
Priests are also permitted to touch the corpse of a sister if she is not married, because she has no husband [to bury her body].
4 Dili siya magahugaw sa iyang kaugalingon kay siya pangulo sa iyang katawohan, nga sa paghimong bastos sa iyang kaugalingon.
Priests must not cause themselves to become unfit to do my work [DOU] by [touching corpses of] people who were married to one of their close relatives.
5 Dili sila magapaupaw sa ilang ulo ni mag-agil sa nasikuhan sa ilang bungot, ni magasamad sila sa ilang unod.
You priests must not shave your heads or shave the edges of your beards or cut your bodies [to show that you are mourning for someone who has died].
6 Magabalaan sila ngadto sa atubangan sa ilang Dios, ug dili nila pagapasipalahan ang ngalan sa ilang Dios; kay ang mga halad ni Jehova nga hinimo pinaagi sa kalayo, ang tinapay sa ilang Dios, ginahalad nila: busa magabalaan sila.
You must act in ways that I, your God, consider to be holy, and not disgrace my name/reputation. You are the ones who present to me the offerings that are burned. [It is as though] those offerings are food for me, your God; so you must act in ways that are holy.
7 Dili sila magapangasawa sa usa ka babaye nga bigaon, kun nabuongan sa dungog: ni mangasawa sila sa usa ka babaye nga gibiyaan sa iyang bana: kay ang sacerdote balaan alang sa iyang Dios.
You priests must not marry women who have been prostitutes or who have been divorced from their husbands, because you priests are (set apart for me/holy).
8 Busa magabalaan ka kaniya kay ang tinapay sa imong Dios, ginahalad niya: magabalaan siya alang kanimo. kay ako, si Jehova, nga nagapabalaan kaninyo, balaan man.
You must consider that you are holy, because you offer food to me, your God. Consider yourselves to be holy because I, Yahweh, [the one who caused you to be priests and] the one who enables you to be holy, am holy.
9 Ug ang anak nga babaye sa bisan kinsa nga sacerdote, kong buongan niya ang iyang dungog sa pagpakighilawas, nagapabastos siya sa iyang amahan; pagasunogon siya sa kalayo.
If a priest’s daughter disgraces herself by becoming a prostitute, she disgraces her father; and she must be killed by being burned in a fire.
10 Ug ang labawng sacerdote sa taliwala sa iyang mga igsoon, kinsang ibabaw sa ulo gibuboan ug lana nga igdidihog, ug nga gipanalanginan siya sa pagsul-ob sa mga bisti, dili niya pag-padunghayon ang buhok sa iyang ulo, ni paggision ang iyang mga bisti;
The Supreme Priest is the one among his relatives who has been [appointed for that work] by having his head anointed with olive oil. He is also the one who has been appointed to wear the special garments that priests wear. He must not allow the hair on his [head] to remain uncombed, and he must not tear his clothes [when he is mourning for someone].
11 Ni mag-adto siya ngadto sa bisan kinsa nga tawong patay, ni maghugaw siya sa iyang kaugalingon tungod sa iyang amahan kun tungod sa iyang inahan;
He must not enter some place where there is a corpse. He must not do that and cause himself to become unfit for his work, even if it is his father or his mother who has died.
12 Ni magagula siya sa balaang puloy-anan, ni paghugawan niya ang balaang puloy-anan sa iyang Dios; kay ang purongpurong sa lana nga igdidihog sa iyang Dios anaa sa ibabaw niya. Ako mao si Jehova.
He must not leave the Sacred Tent [to join those who are mourning], because he would cause himself to become unfit for his work and would also defile/desecrate the Sacred Tent. He must not leave the Sacred Tent [at that time], because by being anointed with olive oil he has been (appointed/set apart) to serve his God [in the Sacred Tent]. I, Yahweh, [am the one who am commanding this].
13 Ug mangasawa siya sa babaye sa iyang pagkaulay.
Women whom you priests marry must be virgins.
14 Usa ka balo nga babaye, kun usa ka babaye nga biniyaan, kun usa ka babaye nga nabuongan sa dungog, kun bigaon, niini kanila dili siya mangasawa: apan mangasawa siya ug ulay gikan sa iyang katawohan.
You priests must not marry widows or prostitutes or divorced women, because if you did that, [if you later have] sons, they would not be acceptable to be priests among your people. You must marry only virgins from among your own people. I am Yahweh, who sets priests apart to be holy.’”
15 Ug dili siya magpabastos sa iyang kaliwatan sa taliwala sa iyang katawohan: kay ako mao si Jehova nga nagabalaan kaniya.
16 Ug si Jehova misulti kang Moises, nga nagaingon:
Yahweh also said to Moses/me,
17 Sultihan mo si Aaron, sa pag-ingon: Bisan kinsa sa imong kaliwatan ngadto sa ilang mga kaliwatan nga adunay ikasaway, dili siya magduol sa paghalad ug tinapay sa iyang Dios.
“Say this to Aaron: 'For all future time, none of your descendants who has any defects [on his body] will be allowed to come near [the altar] to offer [sacrifices to me which will be like] [MET] my food:
18 Kay bisan kinsa nga tawohana nga adunay ikasaway, siya dili magaduol: usa ka tawong buta, kun piang, kun kadtong may ilong nga pislaton, kun bisan unsa nga kapin sa kinaiya,
No one who is blind or lame or deformed, or whose [face is] disfigured,
19 Kun usa ka tawo nga adunay bali sa tiil, kun bali sa kamot,
no man with a crippled foot or a crippled hand,
20 Kun buktot, kun enano, kun adunay biti sa mata, kun tawo nga nukaon, kun may bon-i, kun tawo nga gituntonan;
no man who is a hunchback or a dwarf, no man whose eyes are defective, no man who has a skin disease [DOU] or whose testicles have been damaged is allowed to brings sacrifices.
21 Walay bisan kinsa sa kaliwatan ni Aaron nga sacerdote nga may ikasaway, nga magaduol siya sa paghalad ug mga halad nga pinaagi sa kalayo kang Jehova. May ikasaway kaniya: dili siya magaduol sa paghalad ug tinapay sa iyang Dios.
No descendant of Aaron, the [first Supreme] Priest, who has any defect is allowed to come to the altar to offer to me, his God, sacrifices that will be burned.
22 Sa tinapay sa iyang Dios sa dapit nga labing balaan, ug sa dapit nga balaan, magakaon siya;
Priests who have defects are permitted to eat the various kinds of holy food offered to me.
23 Apan dili siya magasulod ngadto sa sulod sa tabil, ni makaduol siya sa halaran, kay adunay ikasaway kaniya: ug aron dili pagapasipalahan niya ang akong mga balaan nga puloy-anan, kay ako mao si Jehova nga nagabalaan kanila.
But because of their defects, they must not go near the curtain [in the Sacred Tent] or near the altar, because if they did that, they would desecrate my Sacred Tent. I am Yahweh, the one who sets those places apart as being holy.'”
24 Busa si Moises misulti niini kang Aaron, ug sa iyang mga anak nga lalake, ug sa tanan nga mga anak sa Israel.
So Moses/I told this to Aaron and to his sons and to all the Israeli people.
