Job 5
1 Sumangpit ka karon; anaa ba ing bisan kinsa nga motubag kanimo? Ug kinsa sa mga balaan ang imong kapasingadtoan?
But call, if any one will listen to you, or if you shall see any of the holy angels.
2 Kay ang kalibog mopatay sa tawong buang-buang, Ug ang kasina molaglag sa tawong pahong.
For wrath destroys the foolish one, and envy slays him that has gone astray.
3 Nakita ko ang buang nga nakagamot: Apan sa gilayon gihimaraut ko ang iyang puloy-anan.
And I have seen foolish ones taking root: but suddenly their habitation was devoured.
4 Ang iyang mga anak halayo sa kaluwasan, Ug sa ganghaan sila nangadugmok, Sila walay bisan kinsa nga magaluwas kanila:
Let their children be far from safety, and let them be crushed at the doors of vile men, and let there be no deliverer.
5 Ang iyang alanihon sa mga gigutom pagakan-on, Ug kana, bisan sa katunokan pagakuhaon; Ug ang giuhaw sa bahandi motulon.
For what they have collected, the just shall eat; but they shall not be delivered out of calamities: let their strength be utterly exhausted.
6 Kay ang kasakit dili magagikan sa abug, Ni ang kasamok magagula gikan sa yuta:
For labor can’t by any means come out of the earth, nor shall trouble spring out of the mountains:
7 Apan ang tawo ngadto sa kasakit natawo, Ingon nga ang aligato sa itaas mopaingon.
yet man is born to labor, and [even so] the vulture's young seek the high places.
8 Apan sa akong bahin, ang Dios maoy akong pangitaon, Ug sa Dios ang akong tuyo adto ko igatugyan;
Nevertheless I will beseech the Lord, and will call upon the Lord, the sovereign of all;
9 Nga nagabuhat sa mga dagkung butang ug dili matukib, Mga butang katingalahan nga dili maihap;
who does great things and untraceable, glorious things also, and marvelous, of which there is no number:
10 Nga sa kalibutan nagahatag ug ulan, Ug sa kabaulan nagpadala ug tubig;
who gives rain upon the earth, sending water on the earth:
11 Sa pagkaagi nga kadtong mga atua sa ubos ngadto sa itaas iyang gipahamutang, Ug kadtong nanagbakho ngadto sa kaluwasan ginabayaw.
who exalts the lowly, and raises up them that are lost:
12 Siya magasumpo sa mga hunahuna sa malimbungon, Sa pagkaagi nga ang ilang mga kamot dili makahimo sa ilang mga bulohaton.
frustrating the counsels of the crafty, and their hands shall not perform the truth:
13 Siya magadakup sa mga maalam diha sa ilang kaugalingong kabatid: Ug ang sabutsabut sa mga guatsinanggo mahimong pakyas.
who takes the wise in their wisdom, and subverts the counsel of the crafty
14 Ang kadulom maoy ilang ihibalag sa maadlaw, Ug sa udto magasukarap sila ingon sa magabii.
In the day darkness shall come upon them, and let them grope in the noon-day even as in the night:
15 Apan siya nagaluwas gikan sa espada sa ilang baba, Bisan ang mga kabus gikan sa kamot sa mga makagagahum.
and let them perish in war, and let the weak escape from the hand of the mighty.
16 Busa ang kabus may palaabuton, Ug ang kasal-anan magatak-om sa baba niya.
And let the weak have hope, but the mouth of the unjust be stopped.
17 Ania karon, bulahan ang tawo nga pagabadlongon sa Dios: Busa ayaw pagbiaybiay sa mga castigo sa Makagagahum.
But blessed [is] the man whom the Lord has reproved; and reject not you the chastening of the Almighty.
18 Kay siya magahatag sa sakit ug pagabugkosan; Siya magasamad ug ang iyang mga kamot maoy magaayo.
for he causes [a man] to be in pain, and restores [him] again: he smites, and his hands heal.
19 Siya magaluwas kanimo sa unom ka kasamok; Oo, bisan sa pipito ang kadaut dili makadapat kanimo.
Six time he shall deliver you out of distresses: and in the seventh harm shall not touch you.
20 Sa tinggutom magaluwas siya kanimo gikan sa kamatayon; Ug sa gubat gikan sa kagahum sa espada.
In famine he shall deliver you from death: and in war he shall free you from the power of the sword.
21 Ikaw pagatagoan gikan sa hampak sa dila; Ni malisang ikaw sa pagkalaglag sa modangat kini.
He shall hide you from the scourge of the tongue: and you shall not be afraid of coming evils.
22 Ang pagkalaglag ug tinggutom imong pagakataw-an; Ni malisang ikaw sa mga mananap sa yuta.
You shall laugh at the unrighteous and the lawless: and you shall not be afraid of wild beasts.
23 Kay ikaw magpakig-uyon sa mga bato sa kapatagan; Ug ang mga mananap sa kapatagan makigdait kanimo.
For the wild beasts of the field shall be at peace with you.
24 Ug ikaw masayud nga ang imong balong-balong anaa sa pakigdait; Ug ikaw modu-aw sa imong pinuy-anan ug kanimo walay mawala.
Then shall you know that your house shall be at peace, and the provision for your tabernacle shall not fail.
25 Ikaw masayud usab nga ang imong kaliwat mahimong daku, Ug ang imong anak sama sa kabalilihan sa yuta.
And you shall know that your seed [shall be] abundant; and your children shall be like the herbage of the field.
26 Ikaw moadto sa imong lubnganan sa hingkud nga panuigon, Sama sa usa ka tapok sa trigo nga maani sa iyang panahon.
And you shall come to the grave like ripe corn reaped in its season, or as a heap of the corn-flour collected in proper time.
27 Ania karon, kana atong gisusi, busa mao man kana; Patalinghugi kana, ug kana tulotimbanga alang sa imong kaayohan.
Behold, we have thus sought out these matters; these are what we have heard: but do you reflect with yourself, if you have done anything [wrong].
